Ok 2 updates.
1. EA finally had a person contact me after I complained to the BBB. I sent a detailed breakdown of my problems and am waiting to hear again.

2. On my own I have determined that my problem is created by a conflict between the update & any single player save file.

I moved the single player save off my system and got the following result: i) I can now access the full menu and play multiplayer, 'Connect to EA server' & 'Check downloadable content' no longer hang or loop endlessly.
ii) I can play single player in a single session. However creating new saves leads to hang on the menu whenever I return to the menu.
iii) Occasionally, though not always, I can play single player with a save offline. If I connect to xbox live however & return to the menu I hang. This doesn't always work. Sometimes the menu freezes even offline.

I'm maybe going to return to multiplayer & wait for single player patching (probably the ending thing in the summer). I wouldn't have bought this game at release if I knew I'd have to wait 3-6 months to play the single player.

Looks like ME3 Patch 3 is coming along well. Hopefully will be able to discuss the contents later next week. #ME3

- Have you modified any files within the Xbox previous to the patch installation (SP or MP)? I have used mods for weapon unlocks but this was done after the problems occured.
- Did you notice any odd behavior/flow when installing the patch? No, but I didn't really look.
- What time did you start crashing? Last Wednesday
- Are you still crashing (please check right before you post)? Yes.

My game goes to the "Connecting to EA Servers" screen and remains there. So far the only way I can play single player is if I disable my Xbox account and turn it back on after I load my game.

Thanks to this issue, and getting stuck on "Checking Downloadable Content" pop-up that has NEVER BEEN FIXED, I will never buy another Bioware game unless they are bought out by a company that actually takes the time to fix their games. Or better yet, doesn't code patches that cause problems instead of fix them. Shame on you Bioware. You have let us all down.

This is utterly ridiculous. I paid good money for this game, and several DLC packs. I am constantly stuck at "Checking for Downloadable Content", and can't play the game at all. I've tried every known workaround and still get the same issue.

This needs to be fixed with a patch immediately. To leave us in the lurch for this long is utterly unacceptable. I now have a set of $60+ dollar coasters.

If this isn't fixed soon, I'll file a complaint with every possible regulatory agency I can. I've basically been swindled out of my money for an unplayable game.

Just filed a complaint with the BBB, I'm sick and tired of being ignored. Thomas Abrams even made a topic in the spoilers section today and I asked him for a update since he was there and he completely ignored me, I shelled out over a hundred buck total for this game and for over a month I haven't been able to play it. Bioware and EA are re-writting the book on horrible customer service with this fiasco.

The BBB is the only way I could get EA to respond. The news from EA is not good, I don't expect them to have a patch to fix the patch for a long time. They told me this problem is more severe than they could have possibly imagined.

If they'd just talk to us then this wouldn't be as bad, but instead they're just completely ignoring us and I guess expecting us not to get upset.

*Sighs* Apparently you guys didn't read my reply on page 17 *the last reply on that page* on how to fix the problem so you can at least play single player... go back and check it out.

unfortunately suikodudeman, your solution doesn't work for everybody, or is impractical if they are in a wireless environment & don't own 50 ft ethernet cables. Some of us are getting stuck with the downloadable content conflict, not the EA server conflict.

That said, thank you for all the effort, it's clearly the best option of a bad situation.

And everyone should complain to the BBB. EA has no excuse for not updating the community with more information.

EDIT: I realized you were talking about the sign-in/sign-out solution, not the ethernet solution. Unfortunately neither works for myself. Thanks anyway.

Sadly I think they're ignoring the BBB and everyone else, apaprently they think they're as big as microsoft. That said I warned my friend's kid not to download the update. I think he's already looking to trade the game in anyhow.

already reported this 3 times, and still ahvign the same issue. still need to dissconnect my system fomr the net turn onthe system, load up the agme enter main menu then reconnect to the net and i can operate the agme menu perfectly no problem. I got this fix form an EA employee who stated the problem was known before it even became a hueg issue only because a few PS3 owners were callign about it, but it then started to leak over to 360 and PC owners. I'm just amazed the issue has become so complicated to create the enw patch. Again to fix the endless dlc loading checkign message, to access the menu and play multiplayer dissconnect your 360 fomr the net, turn it on, log into your account, load up the game, go to main menu and then recconnect to the net and tadaa you have the problem fixed. shut down the agme and try to go abkc in and you gotta do the whole thing over again. Hope this helps until the patch comes along.

I really hate that this issue has occurred but I hope a patch will come out soon. I have to hide ME3 so I don't waste time putting it in just to black screen freeze.

2 weeks after the game was released mine crashed at the "press start" screen. 3 emails from support all saying the same. Even if I get this working now, I was told to delete my saved game so must start from scratch and who know if it will happen again? Trading in to get what ever value I can. Just think, xbox720 won't use disks so it will be full value thrown away.
And yes, I have tried everything on this forum!

EA seems to suck every penny out of gamers, come on, we deserve better!

Okay, I MIGHT have found a solution *temporary till they actually patch this thing*, When the game is loading, aka saying "Connecting to EA Servers..." press the Xbox Dashboard button on your controller. Then press the "X" button to Sign-Out of your profile. Go back into the game and it will tell you that a change of profiles happened and to press "A" button, BUT DON'T DO THAT!!! Next, press the dashboard button again and choose to log back into your profile. Once done, you will have to press the Y button to connect to the EA Servers, at which point the game SHOULD load up for ya, allowing you to once more play multiplayer and single player. Not sure if this should be done EACH time you load back up the game, but I will check and see. Hope this helps.

Futher EDIT: Yes, you have to do this each time. Haven't tried multiplayer yet, will do that next.

I just wanted to say this DID work for me on 5/25/2012 8:20 PM  Pacific time. And it got me into MP..

Alrighty. First off I agree with the many that believe that their handling of these bugs that render people utterly unable to play their games is just..wrong. They should probably be looking into outside tech support at this point, other programmers. Maybe hiring on a much larger support staff if they haven't been. I get that programming is difficult (I sure as crap can't do it.) but that's all the more reason to bring in whatever help is necessary to solve the issues. But that's not why I'm here.

Basically I had this issue right after the patch launched. (Freezing at the connecting point.) tried reinstalling patch with a cache clear, no good. So I resorted to unhooking my system from the net up until the main menu came up, then plugging in and connecting. It got me through the connecting freeze, but when I disabled the auto log in I would then hang every time checking downloadable content came up. (Now here's the odd part. It comes up twice for some reason, and everything in the background still moves. But I can't do anything.)

I'd done the cache thing again hoping it would resolve that issue..yet again a no. But just today I went through my ritual, unplug and replug, but decided to test the auto log in again on a hunch based on something I read on a forum (can't quite remember where.). I set it up, turned the system off once I verified it worked without a hard reset. Well when I booted it back up I was able to get in as normal for some reason. The problem SEEMS fixed for me. I'll report back if it returns.

Wired connection, cable, through comcast.

And no, no mods whatsoever.

- Have you modified any files within the Xbox previous to the patch installation (SP or MP)? No this was the first time I put ME3 in since April 1st. I just wanted to load up my single player save to take some pictures for costume references.

- Did you notice any odd behavior/flow when installing the patch? Not that I'm aware of. It downloaded and that was it.

- What time did you start crashing? If by crashing you mean that the main menu screen is stuck on the "connecting to EA Servers," it happened right away after I downloaded the patch.

- Are you still crashing (please check right before you post)? Yes, it continues to get stuck on this screen.

This is incredibly disappointing. My faith keeps diminishing with you all.

Edit:
I managed to get past the "connecting to EA Servers" using suikodudeman's suggestion.
http://social.biowar...524/17#12066998

However if I restart the game I have to do that same work around each and every time.  Which is unexceptible.

I think I may have found a work around this problem; if you are stuck watching the "connecting to EA server screen" try disconnecting from your online connection and load one of your single player games. Once that is done, reconnect to your online connection and then go back to the main menu. After this you should be able to load the menu and play multiplayer.

I've done this three times, one of those on another Xbox besides my own, and it works.

- First crash: 2012-05-28, around 5pm pst.
- The game crashes after the BioWare screen and freezes my Xbox. Not even the guide button works. I've tried several fixes mentioned in this thread to no avail. It seems like it has to do with my Xbox profile. When it's not signed in I don't have a problem. If I load the game and then sign in, it freezes instantly. Same thing if I'm already signed in (which my Xbox does automatically).
