What time did you start crashing?
The game worked fine for around an hour after installing the
patch. Connection to ea servers dropped during a MP match at the start
of wave 10 on bronze.

Are you still crashing (please check right before you post)?
Yes. The whole system freezes and becomes unresponsive during any attempt to connect to EA servers. A hard reset is required.

Additional Information
I'm using a 250 Xbox 360 Slim model.
I own the collectors edition with all content downloaded.
Both disks are installed to the HDD.

I've been having the problem non-stop since 5:45 AM when it forced me
off Xbox live to download the patch. I have called EA 3 times now with
new info about the way it is failing at the checks. Please call EA at
(866) 543 5435 and give them details on your problems as I have. I will
go through the steps I have done so all of you can try and hope for
better results.

After every step I tried launching Mass Effect 3
to either get stuck in an eternal load loop or to outright freeze right
after the press start screen.
1: Delete system cache (This was done
after every time I started the game since the update has been the
obvious problem I wanted to test this in as many setups as I could.)
2: Delete online pass then re-download.
3: Remove game from HDD.
4: Deleted DLCs. (Both Resurgence and From Ashes.)
5: Tried both discs.
6: Removed profile then downloaded it from Xbox.
7:
Force the Xbox to re-sync to Xbox live by changing the date to
11/15/2005. (You have to be signed out to change the date and time)
8: Installed both discs to my HDD then retried with both discs.
9:
Downloaded the DLCs again then tried with my Ethernet unplugged.
(Worked to play single player but the moment you reconnect to Xbox live
you wither get load locked while connecting to Xbox live or sent to the
game start-up because of the sign-in change that has occurred.)
10: Tested my connection to Battlefield 3, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 1943. All perfect.
11: Received a new online pass from EA support. Did not solve the issue, just started freezing at a different screen.
12: Contemplated the fun of hitting something with a crowbar but then realized I didn't feel like going outside quite yet.
13: Glared at my frozen Xbox hoping it could sense my disappointment of the update.
14: Ate an ice cream sandwich and came to the forums to report the fun I have been having since 5:45 AM CST.

So
the last 3 we're not anything technical but they did make me ok with
the situation for the time. Just remember folks. This is not an issue
with connecting to EA servers. This issue with the with the checks the
game does of your EA server connection, downloaded content, save games,
then EA server connection again. I have had it actually connect to EA
so I could see my Galaxy at war readiness but had a load loop of
"Checking downloadable content" overlaying my "Resume game; New game;
Load game; Multiplayer; Download Content" menu list so I was unable to
hit anything besides my Microsoft button and inevitably, dashboard.


NOTE: While I do seem to be a very unlucky person most people on my friends list by sheer repetition are able to eventually get past these checks and log on to play both Singleplayer or Multiplayer so keep giving it a try. I hope at some point I can get to play my Geth Hunter some more.

Current Time: 2014 and am not freezing anymore. I just get perpetually load looped so I never stop either "Checking for downloadable content" or "Connecting to EA servers" but that is just the message when the error occurs. If I disconnect from live and load single player before I reconnect to Xbox live I can at least play single player, (if I cared, didn't buy this game for single player). Then reconnect to Xbox live after that I can at least be in parties to chat with people. As soon as I go to the main menu and try to connect to EA servers I will get stuck in a load loop all over again if I don't freeze.

Just to add unlike most people I have been unable to get onto multiplayer all day.  Been trying for over 12 hours off and on whenever I pass by my Xbox.

System info: Xbox Elite 120GB HDD
DLC info: N7 Warfare pack, From Ashes, Resurgence Pack, Online Pass
Other info:  I miss my Krogan Battlemaster, he has twice the quad of other krogans so I call him "The Ocho".

I haven't patched yet, but if it's relevant, last night at about 12:02 A.M. Pacific time, I got booted out of multiplayer and was told I couldn't connect to the EA servers. I restarted, got into another multiplayer match, and was summarily booted off again. At that point I just gave up. I haven't had the Xbox on since.  My gamertag's pagerunner.

Ok, I'm at the main menu, and have been waiting five minutes for the "Checking Downloadable Content" to disappear.  I don't if it is because I turned off the automatic login to ea servers or what?  Please help!!!

Just tried again to get back on and it let me this time. Should I trust that this won't happen again? It was happening for a couple of hours straight once I downloaded the patch about 3 hours ago

It seems to have been working ever since I logged in to the game manually once. Meaning I yanked my network cable, started the game in offline mode, then connected to xbox live while on the main menu. Or perhaps you guys did something on your end while I was off playing multi player... I don't know.

And while your fix might work, I've managed to "fix" my issue without deleting my online pass, etc. Kinda think we shouldn't need to do that.

This would not even be nessaserry if they just got the patch correct in the first place.

It does work, it is not a might or a maybe or think so or guess so or a stabn in the dark, or even a trojan virus attached to a link. you are welcome to report the remote post and prevent thepeople who need it form using it though.

AH Excellent all my hard work has got the ball rolling for a possible fix.
Since my last thread got locked, All I can hope is that it helped some people, and BW try and resolve the issue.

*Downloaded the patch around 7/7:30 this morning

*No modified files

*Didn't have any issues with the patch as it downloaded, but immediately after I was unable to do anything from the main menu; the "Checking Downloadable Content" prompt is still displayed, but I cannot not make any selections. I have tried off an on throughout the day, including just now, and I still get the problem.

I've cleared the cache twice and rebooted the machine several times, still stuck.

250 GB Slim
From Ashes, N7 Warefare and Resurgence DLC downloaded
Game is not installed to HD.

It crashed immediately after I downloaded the patch. It would freeze at the "Connecting to EA Servers" screen

Are you still crashing (please check right before you post)?
Yes. Now I am stuck no the "Connecting to EA Servers" screen. The XBOX no longer freezes up but it remains "Connecting" on the screen forever.

I added the From the Ashes DLC. That's it. No modding or anything.

No, it went smoothly and quickly.

- What time did you start crashing?
An hour or two after downloading the patch or so, I think. I had time to try several multiplayer games...though I will note that there were a lot of people dropping out of those games, constantly. I didn't manage to finish any missions because either we'd lose too many people to keep going, or the host would drop. I finally froze up on my 5th or 6th try...

- Are you still crashing (please check right before you post)?
Oh yes. I came straight here after verifying that the crashes happen in single player too.

No odd behavior when installing
The first time installing about around 6pm
No crash now.

BTW sometimes when I log on, before the update,  it was say that an "error occured sign on original account.?"

It certainly won't hurt anything, it's a little thing called troubleshooting.

-No, I have not modified files before the update, I did <clear the system cache> to delete the update and try to see if reinstalling it fixed the problem.
- No Odd behavior before/during/after the update, rather then the crash itself.
- I started crashing right after the update installed and the game loaded, it crashed while the menu indicated "Connecting to the EA servers"
- Exactly around 50 seconds ago my ME3 Collector's Disc 1 crashed, just now my ME3 Collector's Disc 2 crashed, both in the case above.

I hope this feedback helps you fix the problem!

Still Crashing?: I crashed/froze 8 times in a row before I got in, haven't restarted the game yet for fear of not getting back in.
