My game only start black screening after the new patch was released, it worked fine yesterday. My game crashes on startup just before the opening menu. This bug only affects my main xbox live account.

I am currently too worried about the issue to load up ME3 and get the patch, I don't really want to risc it. Does it ask you first if you want to download it, or is it automatic?

I pulled the LAN cable at the menu screen and it signs me off, then I plugged it back again and do a menu connect to EA servers (Y button), I was able to get in. Hope this helps.

As an experiment I dug out an original 360 Elite and hooked it up. I downloaded my gamertag and popped disc 2 in.

When it loaded to the xbox front page it downloaded an update for the OS and when that was done I launched the game. No installs, no DLC, nothing.

When the game started it asked to download the patch and I accepted. It is now just hanging like my current 360 slim. The “Communicating” icon just sits there spinning.

I popped out the Ethernet cable and it gave the error of needing the connection to access…blahblahblah. The menu appeared and I could start a new SP game.

I then went back and put the cable back into the Xbox and selected MP. It signed me in to Live and was suddenly able to connect again.

I am currently downloading the Resurgence DLC and will update again when that is done.

UPDATE: Was able to download and start a match on Hydra as a Krogan Vanguard.  Played through to the end.  Not sure what this says, but just wanted to try something.

Foolishly tried to buy a PSP with real money.  Of course I got my first ever "failed to process" error.  Don't see anything new in inventory, may have lost $$

When I encountered this issue yesterday I was in the UK, I could not bring up the dashboard and there was no form of animation in the background.

I'd just like to add, for me it's not a case of crashing/freezing OR hanging at the "connecting to ea servers".

It's a case of, If I log in right now, (the patch is installed as well as all my DLC put back on), it just hangs there stating "connecting to ea servers" at the menu screen and never goes further (the loading wheel is going round in the corner continuously).

I am able to use the Xbox Guide button to return to the dashboard, but from this point on I am in a repetative circle, exit, restart, connecting to server hang, exit, restart etc...until I try the fixes suggested by EA support (remove game from hard drive, clear cache, etc).

After doing the complete removal of all content from the console and clearing the cache, I can start a new game OR go into multiplayer (one or t'other, but not both because....), as soon as I exit back to the menu, then I get the complete lockup of the XBox, the console freezes, no animations active, xbox guide button totally unresponsive. The only way back from here is the "Magic Finger" as we say in the trade.

After a hard reset, I am back to the point where, it just hangs there stating "connecting to ea servers".

I am going round in circles. (though EA support did try to lay blame last night that either my disk was scratched or my xbox had gone faulty, please seek a warranty repair with Microsoft, the cheek of it!!)

The only time I can get the game to work is to clear the cache and refuse to install the patch, which logs me out of live, then I can play Single player, though at this point I only really want to play mulitiplayer, which is no good to me.

Why hasn't anyone thought to pull the Patch?

I am not saying I found the miracle, just saying what I did (see earlier post in this thread) has removed all issues for me (both SP and MP) for the past 18 hours.

I have a wireless connection so no cable.

I live in the UK
I can press the XBox button to close down the console.
The bottom right hand corner shows the loading animation. The message ‘An Online Pass is ...’ moves across its screen, and ‘checking downloadable content ...’ appears in the centre.
If I manually connect to EA servers (I do not allow automatic access to EA after the Arrival DLC problems) I am informed of the change in my GaW readiness level.

I have a 360 S console with the CE installed on the HD.
I have downloaded the Resurgence pack.

Yesterday I cleared the cache and was immediately disconnected from XBox Live but could play the SP. Today reinstalled the patch without success so I again cleared the cache and played SP. Tried a third time, downloaded the patch but this time I switched off the console before playing the game. Restarted and the game loaded as normal. However after that session, when I checked it later this evening it was back to square one. I cleared the cache etc. etc. ...

It seems the only way that I can play the SP game is to refuse the patch and therefore be automatically signed out of XBox Live.

This is extremely frustrating. I was having minimal issues before the "patch" and now I can't even play the game. Absolutely ridiculous. It still has not been remedied. I still get stuck at the "Connecting to EA Servers" screen with the connecting wheel continuously turning. How in the world did this make it past testing? Too bad we can't refuse the patch and play online. Please remedy this situation as soon as possible. In the meantime I'm going to play ME1.

I haven't been able to play the game since release week.  Similar issue different bug
