Which some people buy into and some people don't.  Personally, I don't base my opinions on blogs or articles about blogs.

Then at some point the FTC will make an official statement.  Which they havn't, but I'm sure they will take the Director of Communications' blog under consideration.

Yup, some people will think this is an official BBB statement. It's not.

It kinda reminds me of BioWare's statement about the Extended Cut DLC. Hey, BioWare is changing the ending! Look at the headlines. Well, they're not changing the ending. They're only adding additional cinematics and additional epilogue scenes. And it's not really a DLC. It's a patch. Or the shortest DLC in history if you want to call it that.

So, some people will think this is an official BBB statement and some people will think BioWare is changing the ending.

By the way, you don't need an action from the FTC to realize your advertising methods might need fixing. You could listen to your fans or even a director of communications at BBB.

Also, this is about false advertisement, which is universally detrimental to industries affected by it.

Remember that when you link it to the so called entitled fans and their ending demands, since you will only be helping these practices proliferate further in the gaming industry.

So the proponents of this thing still live with their parents right? Anybody else wouldn't have the time or lack of better things to do.

So now you go at personal attacks to the people not happy with the ending... Seriously you are going to stoop to that level?

You people have been insulting and attacking 'pro enders' for weeks. Why should he care about 'respect' anymore?

That statement goes both ways,
As for the parents thing, some sure, but all or even most, of coarse not.

Oh really, when practically every youtube comment saying someone likes the ending is flagged as spam and 'pro ending' type threads are buried in  trolls every. single. time, you're actually going to post that it goes both ways?

Get real, anti ending people on the internet are FAR more vindictive.

A lot of 'pro ending' people i've heard not only are unable to *Explain* the ending to me, they go into posts and videos clearly showing why someone dislikes the ending and leave a comment relating to 'Entitled whingers' and 'living at home with their parents' and blah blah.

I understand there is two sides of the storey - but as you see from the post above there was no call for someone to accuse ANYONE of living with their parents and using that as a basis on why people would dislike the ending to ME3. Yet, due to frustration from someone clearly unable to prove his/her point and *explain* why the ending didn't totally suck - someone decides it is a good time to move to personal attacks instead of discussing the issue.

Debates are great, healthy and productive - but it takes one immature simpleton to start throwing personal attacks and accusations around before all of a sudden two sides of a storey become two warring factions. This doesn't have to be the case and SHOULD NOT be the case.

I've said this in countless threads and I'll say it again here. The BBB issue is just a symbolic victory and nothing more. I find it hard to believe this will undermine EA's long term revenue stream. Better to save one's energy on playing another game.

It's pretty clear Bioware's reputation is forever tainted, especially when coupled with the recent negative fan feedback around TOR.

If I were a judge reading that article, I would have stopped reading the article after she said she didn't play the game, she is basing her opinion on the complaints of fans, If she had actually played the game and had given proof that the complaints were true then it might have been taken more seriously,

this is all pretty funny to me. In court that would never work but what can work for false advertising is that Bioware advertised the resurgence pack that was supposed to be available for all 3 consoles and in the end it was blocked by Sony ....sorry PS3 users I feel for you. This is a valid claim that can win in court

No it isn't, because it wasn't bioware's fault that sony blocked it..

Of course they didn't know! They forgot to run it by Sony. Doesn't matter if it's Bioware's fault or not. If the other party isn't in agreement you still can't advertise the pack.

Bioware and EA were either legally acceptable “puffing –” i.e., a standard level of exaggeration engaged in by any salesman, or done in an interview setting that couldn’t be classified as true advertising.

Just saying.

actually what is false advertising - is that No where on the game box does Bioware say that to access some of the single player content you need a high speed internet connection and an xbox live gold account, since 4000+ EMS is not achievable in SP...

Shame the next gen will also have disk drives like the current gen does... Also the people are supporting the digital... I just say they are to lazy to go outside for 30+ minutes. Seriously up to 4 hours to download a game... 30 minutes in a store and I'm playing the game.

I'd hardly call a slight alteration to a specific ending choice, "content", besides that it doesn't say anywhere on the box that you don't have to do any of those things, so there's no contradiction and thus no false advertising.

Why won't this useless thread just die already, six days for a story that has no impact on anything is way too much. It should have been buried 2 days ago.

Actually,  no they weren't.

Puffing "Drinking pepsi will make 80 year olds feel like they're 20!"

False Advertising (Insert BBB's quotes here)
False Advertising "You can achieve the best ending in SP without touching MP,  there's more than enough War Assets!"

Puffing is exaggeration,  what EA did was falsely describe the contents of their product.
