I got banned a couple days ago for literally no reason. When it was up, I PMed every mod asking why I was banned because I did not do anything that I knew of that would have justified a ban and that I would prefer being notified of the reason so, if I did anything intentionally or unintentionally, that I could remedy it. Every single one of them said, in short, "I don't know, wasn't me. I'll ask around".

I honestly can't speak to that. I know I've never reported you, we may disagree on things but you've always seemed to be civil. I've never reported kbct or thunderhawk either, because they don't get personal.

Only when people start getting personal and throwing names around do I report them, but... yeah. I think if you get banned, you should get an explanation of WHY you were banned, so you know what not to do in the future.

earlier on there was a guy who started a hate thread at chris priestly, then came back and moaned he broke no rules.
and they didnt ban him when he started 2 more threads moaning about it.

I definitely was banned for no reason or for one that I am not aware of.

The mods certainly don't seem to know why lol. That said, I also acknowledged to them that I was well aware it could have been a mistake since I know some forums have pages for moderators that isn't exactly user-friendly. I remember one forum I modded that made doing anything involving banning users or moving/locking posts a complete nightmare and, if you weren't paying absolute attention, it was likely you may have banned the wrong person/people.

I'm the same way, I don't report people unless they're going after people, calling people names, or are just plain getting too far out of hand. I honestly don't know anyone on here that I would have pissed off enough to report me to the point of getting banned lol.

But yeah, I was laughing at the guy making a hate-thread on him. Not a smart idea to expect people to sympathize when you're doing exactly what is against the rules because you thought you were banned for "no reason" lol.

i wasnt meaning you,it was aimed at those who spend the whole time bickering and attacking people for no good reason.
and we have all seen them gang banging anyone starting an "i like the game" thread.

all you would have had to do was post in between one of thier attack sessions and had a miss click.

if it was a mis click you more than likely didnt get a quote with the pm..and if there were the usual 6 attacking,no pm at all.
i have been a mod and done it myself, those buttons are awfiul close in a moderator panel

Yeah you and I can get into heated debates but it's usually stuff that isn't set in stone or is based on opinion.  We tend to get along fine on facts based stuff.  I used to report name callers and fight starters as well but it seems like we're supposed to pm the mods from now on.

Wow, you are not the type of person that should be banned. You might not be a pro-ender, but you are very diplomatic.

It funny, I was reading an article today that linked to the HOLD THE LINE website, so I clicked on it and read the first post and it was Reptilian Rob saying he got banned.

No, this time i looked. I literally found that he had broken no real rules in the threads that he was in that day. He just left and when he logged in the next day he was banned.
Sorry, but from your POV, anything is an attack, you have gotten all worked up and freaked out for no reason. I don't know why but you see everything as aggression. I did not attack you in that comment or this one.
That is now just my response to everyone who uses that nonsensical banner.
Also your banner is a joke.

Yeah lol. I'm actually an anti-ender, but I just don't like all the bickering between both sides; no point in it since we all come here looking for mature discussions, not childish attacks. I guess you can take some of my really stern statements towards those insulting another person's intelligence as an insult if you really want to make a pretty big leap lol.

I'm far more amused by it than anything else, though.

Not attacking, just making people wonder how exactly it makes any sense for pro-end groups to use it.(hint: it doesn't)

You know the people who constantly attack and berate people for having an opinion different than theirs? Or acts like their opinion is right because it is their opinion and, thus, makes them a "true fan" or "more intelligent"? There are people like that on both sides of the issue, as you know, and Father_Jerusalem's banner is directed more at those people than the ones maturely and rationally discussing the issue and differences of opinion.

Only the real asses use the banner to bash only one side and just as a troll banner *coughDridencough* and those people make it obvious which ones they are lol.

Oh, guess i'll just drop it then. Thing is that it bugs me how they think they can use it, i want that banner.

I'm sure you can use it. Just put a one-liner on top summarizing your view. "Anti-ender" or "Both sides need to stop acting like children and speak maturely!" or something lol. That way there won't really be a misconception on where you stand and why you're using that banner lol

While aLucidMind is pretty well spot on, I also use it because I believe that if my Shepard saw all the whinging about -and there is whinging on both sides, I want to be clear about this - he'd shake his head, say "**** it", and let the Reapers reap Earth.

That would be pointless since we all died before s/he was born Image IPB

aLucidMind is almost always spot on. Which is why I like his non-statistical approach to the majority/minority problem.
We can bypass traditional statistics altogether and instead use a customer service multiplier:

aLucidMind wrote...

Considering the game has sold around two million, 200,000 people is significant. Especially when you take into account that for every person that does complain, there are 29 who feel the same way but stay quiet. This is a fact everyone in customer service gets slammed over the head with by their bosses at times lol. If those statistics are true, then you have a percentage of fans much more significant than a "mere" 200,000. This doesn't negate the "90% who are happy stay silent" statistic, it just shows that there are a lot more variables to consider lol.

The question simply becomes what is the number of people that expressed dissatisfaction over the ending and what is the multiplier.

Thoughts, father?

It's not directly related to your post but I was hoping to have the Reapers win in one of the endings.  I thought if you rushed the game you wouldn't have the assets necessary to stop the Reapers.

Related to your actual post I agree that people on both sides go looking for a fight.    Sometimes the OP of the thread baits people into coming in, but in others there's no reason to go in there to just start a fight.  I mean if you hate the endings why go into a pro ending topic just to make snarky remarks.  The same goes for people who liked the endings going into an anti ending topic just to post - quit whining.  It really serves no purpose.

The best topics are started by an OP who gives their opinion without attacking others on the other side anywhere in their post.

the BBB is nothing more than a company that allows for people to review other companies. They side with the paying companies 99.9% of the time. Honestly anything that comes from this company i take with a complete grain of salt.

The rating of actual companies is poorly done.  However, they do look out for consumers a lot of the time.  Which is why the FTC suggests you use them in some cases.  They also do facilitate communication between aggreived parties which I can personally attest to.

In my experience, no they do not. They are nothing more than PR/CS. They will make the customer feel like they are being looked out for, but they wont actually do it. Our company has many complaints closed by the BBB even if the customer has a justified issue before we can even respond. In my experience the BBB is shady and is just out for the money.

Well I can only speak from my one experiance with them but when I filed a complaint with the BBB, EA responded in about a week.   Although I'm sure what you said is correct in a lot of situations as well.  I guess that's the nature of the BBB beast.

I lost $1500 usd to a improperly wired custom pc. The company had a aaa rating blah blah blah. About 400 of that was personal property damage... Bbb said ok they will handle it... I got a refund. I had to pay shipping. I had to rebuy damaged goods with my own money. My refund was missing 150 usd. Bbb helped all right... They sorta kinda got me a refund.
