Could the Borg be indoctrinated?

"You will be assimilated." "Resistance is futile."
(Catalyst) "We helped them ascend." "Your extinction is inevitable." (Sovereign)
Their ideology and goals are identical. They only differ in form.

They only adapt because no one uses knives or guns against them, only phasers (and flesh eating acid, but we don't talk about that movie here)lockdown51 wrote...
Borg. They adapt, the Reapers don't.

Problem for the Borg after whupping the Reapers, the rest of the ME races use Kinetic weapons. a concept totally unknown to the borg. And then Tali or EDI would just Hack the collective the make the cubes explode while Shepard lays down covering fire with Garrus.

If the federation just got their act together and mass produced some defiants, I think the Borg would be pretty f'ed.
Not even that. The Feds can fire torps at high warp. Just do torp drive bys all day every day.
And yes, anyone using a ballistic weapon would quickly kick the Borgs collective ass, but the Reapers seem to like giant lasers so I have to give it to the Borg.

Though is they could get some Reaper troops into a borg cube led by the greatest of all reapers: Marauder Shields.

Torpedoes deal Kinetic damage...
Species 8472 is a much tougher task for the Reapers than the Borg... One of their cruisers ripped a cube apart without breaking a sweat...
And First Contact was a fine film, not the best, but it holds its own...

Yeah, in a ground fight since Reaper ground troops use ballistic weapons the fight goes to the Reapers. In a straigt up space fight Borg win though.

Thats not true, they can only adapt against an inferior military force.
In Voyager, the borg cannot adapt to species... something.

Pretty much this. However, cuttlefish are cooler than cubes, I'll give them that.

I believe the Reapers would see the Borg as little more than the Geth to some degree... The Reapers would definitely win, the Borg are not unbeatable through conventional means (although I always wondered "why don't they just send like 50 cubes to Earth?")...
Read "Star Trek Destiny" (3-book-trilogy), its canon as i know. Borg send some thousand cubs and even more smaller ships in the alpha-quadrant, which results in destroyed homeworlds of most of the bigger races (and the more or less total anihilation of there fleets), and if there homeworlds aren't destroyed they are in the same state as earth is in the better outcome of the destroy-ending. Some smaller races are completly erased.
back to topic: Borg would win, cause they adapt, as mentioned befor. And plus they are not as arrogant as the reaper who think they are the crown and end of evolution (paradox itself, evolution hasn't an end). Only downside for the Borg is, that they dont have something like the Relais, but as long as the reapers are to stupid to shut them down, the borg would adapt and use them.
And for indoctrination, the Borg are a hive and not individuals, even there queen isn't allmighty and can be replaced very easily (Borg dont really rely on a queen, they can also "function" perfect without her). And in the end there is an "almighty being" in background which "controls" the Borg, and which is far beyond the possibility to be indoctrinated cause it has no normal body on which indoc could work (yeah like the starchild, only a way,way better explained than the starchild)

But don't Reapers have spinal mounted mass accelerator weapons? That way they could function as dreadnoughts while Lesser Reapers tanked the Borg cubes with their barriers and maybe suicide run the Borg Cubes, after all the Reapers have the greater numbers I think.lockdown51 wrote...

Any and all books/comics/non movie or TV are "soft canon" and don't count as lore unless specifically okayed by CBS. Otherwise you end up with resurrected Kirks and Janeway Queen of the Borg who then becomes a Q.
Otherwise, go Borg?

See?! The Borg do win! The starchild said it is the final evolution of life! (I can't believe I'm using him as positive proof. I feel so dirty.)
