I've heard an argument made by an independent games journalists who I respect that there is an element of pack mentality in the hatred of the ending.

In a sense we hate the ending so much at least partly because we have a group of people around us telling us how bad it is. Its hard to discount that argument completely, I was already well aware of the controversy and therefore its almost impossible to approach it with an open mind.

My instinct was to assume it wasn't as bad as had been made out, but on finnishing the game I hated it. Perhaps BSN and the negative things i was aware of tainted my reaction, rather than look for the good I defaulted to "its rubbish".

I don't really think that was the case, I think the end was badly executed, but I'm playing devils advocate. So yes, perhaps without BSN i'd like the end more, or perhaps not.

On the other websites I visit. Dorkly, Gameinformer, Facebook on ocassion, DeviantArt, etc. I'd be a hell of a lot more bored, and far less enlightened by those I surround myself with. I'd also laugh less, because some of the craziness on the message boards brighten my day. The summing-up-the-ending-with-a-picture was pretty great.

Might want to PM a Moderator to move this to Off-Topic. It's a strong enough subject to discuss that I'd rather not see it get locked.

I just like it here. But without BSN, I would just spend more time on ar15.com. I like a little variety in my forum dwelling.

If I didn't have the BSN...that'd mean a lot fewer annoying people to interact with on a daily basis, along with a lot less typo-related aggravation. My primary pet peeve is when people incorrectly use "cannon" instead of "canon."

Canon says you've always been a loose cannon, Atreiya!

BSN has largely been my vent for frustration. So... without it I would probably have lost a good portion of my sanity... and probably driven my friends insane as well.

LOL...without BSN I would still just use the internet for banking, shopping and researches ^_^...and probably would use my time to be more productive, instead wasting hours in the internet :P

But to be honest I love to be able to meet so many great and unique people here :)

The BSN forums is the only reason I'm still giving BW a chance with other games not written by Mac. Otherwise, I would probably view them as a M Night... Something to be avoided unless I want to be disappointed at the end.

Not sure, maybe huddled in a corner crying?

Probably something like that. At least I was somewhat prepared for what was coming, so it wasn't a terrible shock.

Not sure really. On the other hand internet social media has a way of polarizing just about anything to one extreme or another, on the other hand since I know it happens I can mostly ignore all the noise in the forums and make up my own mind.

I just recently found out that some people had huge problems with Dragon Age 2, I dont know what the issue was and at this point I dont care. I have played it through enough times to know what that game is and what it isnt. Anyway the point is that I was happily enjoying the game instead of reading from the forums how I should react to all these problems other people claimed to find.

I kind of wish I did the same with me3. Now after 2 playthroughs (one very fast to see what the deal with the ending was, other to enjoy all the sidequests and things) I am playing 3rd time with a different kind of save from me2 and seeing stuff I missed when playing first 2 times.

Sorry to all the end haters but it is still enjoyable game to me.

My depression would still be lingering had I not used BSN as a self-made therapy to help cope with the acute emotions I had as a reaction from the ending. I still remember the first week that followed at work, I was in a very "low mood", cold (figuratively, I would stare at things and lose concentration for moments), lost appetite, passed a few meals (even at work), couldn't focus on my tasks well. One colleague noticed at the end of the week, during break time, he asked me if anything bad happened in my life or if it wasn't indiscreet of him to ask. I just told him that I had a bad week-end and that I needed to reflect on a few things (the guy wouldn't have understood, he doesn't play games and hates computers and games themselves in general, he'd have thought I was crazy had I told him the truth).

With the "help" (indirectly) of real life friends (well, two of them specifically), and myself, along with the BioWare Social Network, I was able to "discharge" and express my feelings, emotions, thoughts, over the weeks that followed. I would read others' situations and feelings, as if I was in actual group therapy in the same room, discussing, exchanging thoughts. etc. Nothing about this is exaggeration, it occurred, and I'll remember it for many years to come. Yes, Drew, the universe you created isn't just some ideas you put on paper, it's a universe that our own imagination can actually give birth to, in our mind, in our heart, it can "exist", and we can be "part of it" ourselves. It's difficult to explain but anyway, overall BSN allowed me to heal the psychological wounds inflicted by the ending.

Well, I've taken to doing more lurking and less posting recently.... I'd be on The Escapist, most likely and that place is madder than this one... The Escapist makes this place seem peaceful... I'd be visiting the other places I visit and talking with the people I already know (and love) from BSN on FB and Skype... no big deal :)
The end wouldn't have been a shock either because I have some blabbermouthed friends, not to mention there were 3 of us in my house playing ME3, I was the last to the finish line... so... ;P
