Not sure. It gives me a place to sound off in my idle time at home or at work while I try to deal with this horrible ending.

I'd probably be putting more stuff in the thing more stuff goes in, in order to deal with the ending

I've heard an argument made by an independent games journalists who I respect that there is an element of pack mentality in the hatred of the ending.

In a sense we hate the ending so much at least partly because we have a group of people around us telling us how bad it is. Its hard to discount that argument completely, I was already well aware of the controversy and therefore its almost impossible to approach it with an open mind.

My instinct was to assume it wasn't as bad as had been made out, but on finnishing the game I hated it. Perhaps BSN and the negative things i was aware of tainted my reaction, rather than look for the good I defaulted to "its rubbish".

I don't really think that was the case, I think the end was badly executed, but I'm playing devils advocate. So yes, perhaps without BSN i'd like the end more,
or perhaps not.

Nah most likely you would of disliked with or without BSN and let me explain why. My brother and I both enjoy the ME series after I finished I didn't share my feelings on it with him until he completed it. My brother isn't a forum kinda guy( like majority of people playing ME) so he never knew about the possible poor ending. Sure enough upon completion I got the phone call and afterwards a headache. Point is most people are coming to this conclusion without the influence of BSN on whether they liked or disliked the ending.

In a severe state of depression, also thinking that I was the only one who hated the ending.
It has been great to see I'm not the only one who thought it was a terrible mess.

If BSN didn't exist, all of this would be in another forum. It wouldn't really make a difference to the outcry, but it would probably make it easier for Bioware to ignore us.

The outcry would have been less organized, therefore letting Bioware and EA ignore us even more than they have.

Honestly, I would've probably, for the first time out of my 18 years of being a gamer, having returned the game.
And I got games like Throne of Darkness,, Big Rigs, Wargasm and Black Bucaneer still on my shelf.

Same with me. I could channel my anger and depression over ME3 thanks to BSN. Besides, it's a fun place (also had lots of laughter... I'd have missed that).

Yea, but it's only become a pack mentality because everyone views it the same way..

I for one avoided BSN like the plague for a couple of months pre-release to prevent spoilers... I'm sure a lot of other people did that also. But the second I finished the ending, I immediately thought "I wonder if BSN r as upset about this as me."

Turns out they were.

On the other websites I visit. Dorkly, Gameinformer, Facebook on ocassion, DeviantArt, etc. I'd be a hell of a lot more bored, and far less enlightened by those I surround myself with. I'd also laugh less, because some of the craziness on the message boards brighten my day. The summing-up-the-ending-with-a-picture was pretty great.

Might want to PM a Moderator to move this to Off-Topic. It's a strong enough subject to discuss that I'd rather not see it get locked.

Technically it is still ending related... lol. But regardless, how do I do that?

I'd be on another forum. I was on several before I got on BSN, BSN is preferrable to most of them.

It's certainly on a higher level of decency then /v/...

I would have probably shelved mass effect forever and just assume I had missed something about the ending. I had never posted here before, so it was nice to see that soapy other people disliked the ending as well. Made me feel like I wasn't bat-****-crazy.

Same here.
All I had read about the ending was an interview with gamble or walters saying it was bittersweet.
But when I experienced it myself ... I dunno what I felt most, anger, despair, betrayal, WTFness, sadness...
So I came to BSN.

All I knew is you had to play multiplayer a bit to get the best ending... That's what made me most confused, I thought someone on BSN would say straight away "no you have to do this, then this happens" to unlock a better ending, but nope, what we saw is what we got.

Probably would have forced myself to forget about the ending and the whole Mass Effect series by now.
