Not exactly an update on the status on The Tribute, but a little info gleaned from Twitter:

@ShepskiGuy Well, honestly, before I did an A/K-centric DLC, I'd likely push for ME1/2 squaddies who weren't squaddies this time..
WHOA Really, I know the only ME1 squadie who wasn't a squadie in ME3 was Wrex PLEASE Don't make him a squadie, I love him and It would not only ruin Wrex but the Krogan aswell by doing that.
However, PLEASE Thane, Samara, Jack, PLEASE, Miranda, Jacob, PLEASE, PLEASE
Visii you just made my day thank you so much.
@gears Why would Wrex being a squaddie in ME3 ruin his character?
Thanks for sharing this! I feel a little more hopeful about the future of our ME2 characters now, yay!
I think it would ruin Wrex and the Krogan as a whole, after the Genophage is cured and all The Krogan need their male leader/king/Wrex hanging around leading them, if he runs off with Shep, I can't see many Krogan looking at that as a good thing, I can only see them going back to kiling each other, and not helping the Turians, it would be totataly desaster for the Krogan.
I LOVE Wrex he's one of my favorite characters but I just couldn't bare to see him become a squad mate when he's supposed to be this big Krogan Leader/King However during the first act when before you cure the Genophange I could see him becoming a squadmate in that part of the game ONLY. Because face it Liara's the Shadow Broker if she can go into combat so then when Wrex is serving as a diplomat on the Normandy he could aslo go into Combat.
Hope this helps ya understand what I meant.
As to everyone else about Miranda, thanks for your input it still don't change that Miaranda, her Dad, and Orianna were wasted potential and those scenes felt half @ssed thought out, written, and finished.
Just like Samara's scenes on Lessus, it felt stupidly half@ssed I mean really I wanted to see her intereact with her daughters some more, and don't give me that BS about because she's a Justicar she couldn't. It's BS she lost her mind after lossing Rila. She wasn't thinking clearly and attempts suiced, it had nothing to do with The Code, and everything to do with she reached her breaking point and wasn't thinking clearly. When you talk with her on the Citadel after that she so much as admits she wasn't thinking clearly.
And don't get me started on Thane, he was the first ME2 squadie BW revealed and he was a fan favorite, they made him a total bad@ss, liked by dudes and loved by chicks, they tossed him away like he was Fist or Helana Blake, heck Conrad had more effort put into him.
