I'm glad I'm not the only person that realized how godly this brotarian is. I prefer carnifex, though. Increased power damage in 4+5 and then increased weapon damage in 6 for training, and I use ballistic blades as a shotgun primary and the carnifex as a backup. It's basically "yo dog, I heard you like guns, so I put on a gun on your gun so you can shoot while you shoot."Sakanade wrote...
Honestly I've read some threads totally slamming this class, but the thing is.
Just go 6/0/6/6/6.
Don't get blade armor, stack it in Ballistic blades, max damage + reduced cooldown + max bleed (not the explosion)
And get the inferno grenade on max damage + max damage + max damage vs armor.
I AoE the living **** out of everything that moves on gold.
Combine it with the N7 Crusader and it's a powerhouse.
Just sit back in cover, enemies swarm you on gold, pow pow pow.

On Silver exploding blades is awesome, its a fire and forget move. I can kill any trooper lvl enemy, just fire then keep running and they die. Ive even finished off Banshees, Brutes, Primes with them. Does the extra 2 or whatever secs of bleeding equal more damage then the 430 dam the explosion deals? By the time the explosion goes off I can shoot again. It can't be that big of a difference.
I like the cone angle upgrade myself, Ive taken down 4 husks in one shot. Adds more crowd control.
I didn't know that fire nades were that good upgraded though, I may need to respec alittle as I only have the first 2 boxes in it.
The melee damage back with blade armor is pretty useless, Ive killed a phantom with it but for the vast part enemies never get close enough to melee me in the first place. You get alot of health from fitness anyways, though the armor does boost your power damage which make blades more powerful.

I specced fully into Armor, but even with armor fully specced for damage return and damage prot, I still was able to fire blades every 2.4 seconds, and I used my GPS IX with it. Extremely impressed.

Heh, just checked in to see where this thread was going. Felt hurt by teh immature Sakande who thinks he has a monopoly on knowledges but was swiftly lifted in spirits by several true Batarian brothers.
Melee Batarian is very viable on Gold.

I don't understand it. It's a new class. Give it some time. It could very well be viable in Gold.

Blade armor is useful. Epsecially if you plan to play the meele Batarian. A Brute died while striking at me on Silver (of course it suffered damage before). If enemies melee attack you they can suffer up to 150% of the damage they inflcited you. Just add this to the Batarian heavy meele attack and you got an idea
However on lower levels the Batarian seemed to be a little "inferior" to other soldier characters.
Ballist blades, for example, are nice once fully evolved but at the first 3/4 levels they seem useless.
Ballistic blades+melee attack is a wonderful way to kill enemies in close quarters battles.

I used him once and tosed him aside as garbage but after reading about your build and success with it, I think I'll give ol' four eyes another chanceThanks.
You're welcome, there will probably be some different builds for this class but this is the one I have found most useful.

Did I make you cry? aww sorry here is a tissue and a ticket to my little pony land.
But seriously, if you really want to melee stuff on gold while your team is doing the "firebase white - geth farm", you will get the boot.

Hopefully the word gets out that yes batarian soldier is awesome, I was lvl 17 trying to play silver last night and in 4 lobbies in a row I was either booted or had 2 kick votes so I left. Wtf people? I was using a GPS VIII with dam and melee mod.

I wont get the boot because most people I end up playing with arent entiteled kids who invest far too much of their identity in online games and forum-posts.
You should get out more, meet people and relax.

I was doing some solo Gold matches testing out the Batarian Soldier, mostly with Cerberus and the highest I got to was Wave 5.
I used the Ballistic Blades more for utility than straight up damage. They were mostly used for setting up charged Graal headshots, staggering groups of enemies or finishing off weakened enemies. Occasionally when I saw the opportunity I finished off an enemy with a heavy melee giving me a 25% weapon damage bonus for a few seconds which was nice.
I may try out Inferno Grenades.

I went cone. range and explosion on my blades, i find it way more usefull.
Reason is that the cone helps u hit multiple targets, which means multiple blades explosions will trigger, incredibly useful against groups.
Most of you didn't pay attention, but inferno grenades and exploding blades triggers fire explosion.
Other then that my build is the same.
Im using Talon II, im having a terrific success with this pistol on the bat soldier.

graal or geth plasma shotgun work with this build as well.
Charge weapons work very well to cover the windup of BB:
I charge my GPS
Activate Ballistic Blades
Release the trigger during BB animation
Charged shot fires then BB fires
Fire uncharged shot immediately after BB animation
You can also use the BB animation to coner the slow ROF of heavy damaging weapons like the Evi, Wraith, or Claymore. With the Evi/Wraith you can Shoot, BB, Shoot. You cast BB almost simultaneously as the first shot. With Claymore you shoot, reload-cancel with BB, Shoot immediatly after BB. Thats massive DPS.
