I'm surprised no-one followed Legion's naming scheme. Do you remember the conversation with him (it/them), EDI and Shepard?
In any case I've tried to find other words for ''groups'' or ''masses of units''. My Gethgineer is called Armada, which seemed somewhat appropriate.

Then again, I also named my Asari characters AsAdept, AsTicar, and AsGuard... Maybe I'm weird?

I wanted to name my Geth Infiltrator "Geth Do Not Infiltrate" but it has too many letters, so I ended up with "GethDoNotInfil". Haven't unlocked the Engineer yet, so I've got some time to ponder.

I try to pick names consistent with lore. We don't have a lot to go on with Geth, so I took Legions' ME2 conversations to their logical conclusion. I don't think Geth would stick with unit #'s as names. I think they'd mine lore (especially human lore, since Shepard is their savior) for stories of machines that became intelligent.

When I unlock my GI I'm naming it either Jane (Ender's Game) or R. Daneel (Asimov's robot series)

Nameing geth after error codes is actually fun, and for some reason seeing a robot named this is quite fitting.
