That said, do keep in mind they had to also implement twice the amount of voice overs/story-line variations for those respective quests to maintain continuity from all the player choices.
Personally, I think that just means they should have let this game bake for another half year or one. But then again, this late into the current generation, maybe EA didn't feel like risking ME3 coming out too late into the cycle...
nawww they just didn't feel like waiting that long. EVERY TWO YEARS THE CYCLE MUST BE SATISFIED.

And depressing to see all the fetch "quests" (rather errands) in ME3.
Though it has to be noted, that the plot quests in ME3 needed a lot more flexibility and adaptability to account for all the possible scenarios that they could start and play out in.
But, yes, on the whole it is quite enlightening.

I do commend them for putting those unfortunate multiplayer maps in their own category.

If you combine Normandy Crash site + Zaeed + Kasumi + Overlord + Firewalker Pack + Shadow Broker, I wonder if it includes all of that. Overall ME2 has the best balance of missions in my opinion, between plot quests and the rest, not saying they are the "best" necessarily, but the balance of the number of specific types of quests in ME2 is good, especially with the DLCs.

lmao, didn't even notice at first.
Also yeah it's a shame, but I never realized ME2 and ME1 had the exact same amount of quests and I always figured ME2 had less than ME1 guess not.
That said, do keep in mind they had to also implement twice the amount of voice overs/story-line variations for those respective quests to maintain continuity from all the player choices.
Sure for main plot lines and a handful of side ones but ME2 N7 missions didn't really carry into ME3 at all (correct me if I'm wrong) and often had a plotline that began and ended in a series of 2-3 sidequests in me2 which was neat, imo. That could have easily replaced fetch quests. Bioware would simply say it puts a brake on the "flow" since there's supposed to be a sense of urgency, but I don't see how fetching relics all over the galaxy so the volus have the balls to fight reapers is any less of a brake than a good ol' sidequest.

Although to play Devil's advocate, the figure does not seem to have any accounting for the length or quality of individual quests. Pure numbers of quests do not necessarily mean "more content" in a meaningful sense. With that said, of course, I don't feel like the amazing and awesome quests in ME3 fully made up for the drastically reduced number of non-fetch quests (and hence my initial statement).

On that matter, does that take ME1 DLC into account? There are two fetch quests (explosives and dead engineers) in BtDS and one story quest; and either four multiplayer quests or one story quest in PS, depending on whether you hated Pinnacle Station or tolerated its presence.Does the ME2 graph includes the DLCs?
What about From Ashes? That's one extra side quest right there.
In any case, that WAS interesting to look at. Thanks, OP =)

I don't know, this isn't mine. I don't think so though? Guess someone would have to count and see

Also, I found the plot missions to be more satisfying this time round, well up until the end of course . . .

I have to admit though, the main quests are alot more juicy then they were in the previous 2. Not to mention there is a lot more replay value concerning the weapons and companions you bring to them. Still I really want to land on Dekunna.
Oh you can land on Dekuuna. GL standing up again after you do

I don't mind that there are fewer side quests in ME3 to be honest, it makes sense that when most of the galaxy is burning you're occupied by more important enterprises.
Like fetch quests.
