This is just misleading.

ME1 had the worst secundary missions.
Really? Worse than 'packages for ish'?

I don't mind that there are fewer side quests in ME3 to be honest, it makes sense that when most of the galaxy is burning you're occupied by more important enterprises.
Like fetch quests.

Are you implying that this mission represents the whole of ME2's side missions? Because if you are, you are wrong. If you are not, I can't see the point in your post.

yeah this is my issue with that argument. There could have been side quests with relevance to the plot (like the monastery or grissom academy) that made way more sense than sending shepard to find an old flag. The only excuse for the number of fetch quests in ME3 is lack of time and when you factor in how little those fetch quests factor in, because of the lack of war assets in the final mission. It's just insulting.

No wonder ME 3 didn't feel as 'meaty' as the previous games. It wasn't. That's one of my first impressions on my first playthrough, that there wasn't enough combat oriented questing. The fetch quests far outnumbered any of the others. Sad.

I still think the quality of the 'core' missions plus the 'core' side missions (like N7/Cerberus) have only improved over time. I love ME1, but after replaying the entire series (on ME3 now) the quality of the missions has improved drastically.
Probably one of my favorite mission in the entire series is the Grissom Academy. Everything about this hits the right parts, imo.
Now the writing over this time period.............no so much :-(

Anyone who has ever played all three should know that this is just a statistical spin job. Can we get a graph on how many times ME 1 reused the same sidemission bunkers/ships?

Your data are informative, but one thing ME3 did have significantly more of was squad mate interaction on the Normandy and Citadel. In ME2 you might have your intro conv, then something new after Loyalty, but that was about it. I'm 3 they move around, talk to each other, and generally have more to say. That made up somewhat for the smaller number of sidequests for me.
