I noticed no helmets ever showed in cut-scene video, and assumed it was an across-the-boards technical bug or limitation.  But then I noticed NPC Jowan in a cut-scene with a mage cap I'd given him, while my PC, and NPC Lilly didn't show their helms/caps in the scene.  Since Jowan was able to display his head slot item, that indicates to me that perhaps there is hope for a fix.  The expectation of course is that cut-scenes reflect currently equipped gear, including head slot items.

Does it never occurred to you that this is made on purpose? Or would you like it better, if everyone in a conversation wear a Helmet? I for my part think this is one of the most important improvements Bioware ever made. There would be no reason for a character creator like in Dragon Age, if you never see the your main chars face again!

I think this was made to keep in touch with the people when the talk.

Do you remember Kotor? There you gave your party also some headgear and it has always maddened me, how silly it looked in conversations.

It did occur to me that it was done on purpose. But the Jowan example would seem to refute that. What's your problem?  The majority of helm/cap types are not full-face helms.  In the example I wrote of, with Jowan, Lilly, and my PC, all 3 head slot items would continue to show their face if those items were all displayed.  This would mitigate the issue you described.  I guess your KotOR nightmare was due to having too many full-faced helmets?

But was was Jowan wearing at that particular moment? Ha Helmet? A Hood? Or a Bandana?

Nope, It was with transparent Visors, Goggles, Mouthpieces and other strange Equipment that barely hide the Face. But it was always... weired... impolite... or just say it looked pretty foolish when they were talking "face to face"

****... triple post.... :pinched:

Jowan, a mage, was wearing a mage-appropriate cap of some sort. I can't recall the item name, it gave +5 mental resistance iirc.

Lilly, a rogue, wouldn't have a full-face helm either - all the leather caps in game are open-faced, but at the time I think I didn't have leather for her, so gave her another mage cap - which didn't show in the cut-scene (same cap as my PC and Jowan). Something about Jowan lets the equipment show. Something about my PC and Lilly doesn't.

Yeah, thats a little strange, but still i think its a good thing, that you can actually see all of the Characters. Its nice to see the hole Head, instead of full-face Helmet, winged, or horned Items.

Ok, so having seen quite a few more cut-scenes, the issue is inconsistent. So, for another example, the the voice over cut-scenes with the "toll collectors" while transiting to Lothering show helms on the characters (Alistair had a full-face helm, my PC and Morrigan had Enchanter's Arming Cap and Apprentice Cowl respectively). But then after that encounter when Alistair asks about our plans, I don't think any were wearing the head slot items.

So perhaps the inconsistency is what caught my eye, and there are some encounters where they hvae them and some where they don't. And the prelude with Jowan and Lilly was an anomaly, where one character had a cap and the others didn't.

It's intentional. In every scene each individual character is basically "flagged" as to whether or not a helm will display. That's why Jowan's helm appeared but your PC's didn't, because Jowan wasn't expected to be wearing a helm.  Same reason why some guards will have helms on.

It has been stated by Bioware staff that it cannot be changed, atleast without the cutscene source files.

I personally like this, as you can see facial expressions on characters who wear full helms...
