The way I kinda see this whole thing is like an electronic version of the whole "pink slime" debacle. The pink slime was examined and determined to be perfectly fine for consumption and was for years, but once people found out the gross factor was too much for them. Can they eat it? Yea. But they don't want to, so a bunch of folks complained and the company that produced it has pretty much gone bankrupt if I'm not mistaken. Same basic idea except for with endings. Is it an ending you could accept? Yea. Is it one you want to? For a large portion of fans, no.

Actually we can not accept it. simple.

I'm not a fan of them either but I'm trying to be realistic. If they don't decide to fix it like they should there is really sweet f*** all we can do. Unless people on a massive scale stop buying Bioware and EA games, they'll still keep making money, and business practices won't change.

I wonder why it's a filler then if it has the same nutritional value as 90% lean beef.  Why didn't they just sell the stuff as its own product instead of filler?

Then why would you take the time to talk about it with these people if it is a video-game that you don't care about.

I have come to respect the opinions of many ME fans who hated the endings...but this is just too much. Does this mean we are now welcoming the age of "tour guide" gamerism, where whiners actually can force game developers everywhere to make changes on something they don't agree with?

Yup. Gamers follow this logic when it comes to gaming: One step forward, three steps back, five more steps back and then complain.

Why are all games the same just different clones of each other - because gamers that don't difference report them.
Why don't game developers take chances anymore - because gamers will report them if they don't meet expectations.
Why are games developed like pop up books - because gamers will report them if they don't understand something
Why am I paying for DLC that treats itself like it's a seperate game - because gamers will report them if it's not a stand alone module.
Why has the game industry stagnated - because gamers don't have a clue what they are actually fighting for half the time. As with most customer advocate groups.

Fight like this over DLC when we as gamers should have? No, lets just enjoy being nickle and dimed because its easier.
Fight like this when games started to turn into copy past clones? No, those models work just look at how well CoD and MW do.
Fight like this as the gaming industry slowly begins to turn to broad market gaming for all products? No, we sit on our ass's and complain on the forums that there's no differiential in the games being released.

Fight like this when a series ends and we don't like the ending? Absolutly. Everything that has happened to us as gamers that we have allowed, well they just can't end a game like this. They can nickle and dime us in DLC to finish the story or continue the franchise in some way; that we allow. Possibly offer an entire new ending as DLC, that we allow. But an ending we don't like. **** that. It's time for pitch forks and molitovs, FTC complaints, BBB complaints, emails en mass to every source out there and actually doing something for a change.

Because as gamers that's what we do. We allow anything and everything to be done to us. We get something changed for one game that we don't like and let 3 things we don't like stay because well hey they listened and changed that one thing, that one time.

I don't know where you've been but DLC has been a hot topic for years.  Just look at any Capcom board when they announce a game and the associated DLC.  Especially with the Asura's Wrath ending DLC they're charging for.  But you're right, there are companies that get a pass from it.  Although if you recall BioWare had it's on fiasco with it's Day 1 DLC for ME3.

Nice straw man. When did I say I don't care about Mass Effect 3? I'll wait...

That's an important topic,  if you look around,  it looks like that may very well be happening.  Look at some of the reports of sales for various EA games,  and read their quarterlies.  Specifically,  look for info on:  Dead Space 2,  Shadows of the Damned,  Kingdoms of Amalor,  Mass Effect 3,  Dragon Age 2,  Bulletstorm,  and Syndicate.

I would submit for debate that people have stopped buying EA games.

I don't understand... you don't think false advertising is wrong? You are upset someone brought this to their attention and was right? Hmm... seems like you are indoctrinated to EA.

Well, by saying that, you inclined that you were above video-games and in doing so that you do not care and that because of it that nobody else should even though they clearly do. Simple.

I'm assuming you meant "implied". What I said isn't about being above video games but more about keeping your priorities in order. As much as I enjoy video games at the end of the day I know they're just a form of entertainment.

Sure implied, whatever.
My priorities are in order. And entertainment should be truly entertaining, and not be falsely advertised.

I still hate everyone for killing off the Mako, Elevators and overheating weapons.

I find this to be even more offensive:
http://social.biowar...341589#11341589

I find it very offensive, but whiners didn't get the game changed to that, BioWare just completely messed that one up majorly.

Question is why they don't own up to that mistake when it's so blatantly obvious to everyone else.
Bad business policies perhaps?

Businesses never own up to mistakes. Even if they lose court cases they'll never admit they were wrong.

Its such a simple thing to fix, you literally just adjust the numbers slightly in the next patch, hell, anyone here who knows how to use a texteditor could fix it. So yeah, shame they don't take ownership of it a little more.

Of course, this is another one of those things that feeds into indoctrination theory with the real ending coming and all that jazz.

So raising thousands of dollars, making facebook pages and mail bombing Bioware isn’t going too far, but filing a complaint thought the official channels are?... wat?

People brought a product, It wasn’t what they payed for, they expected something else. Honestly, how much more clear cut can it be? If you’re dissatisfied with a product i´d say taking it to official channels is the right thing to do, instead of harassing the people who made it.

Evidently not.
It is a camcorder not a video game that you are emotionally invested in, i also doubt that you honestly believe that is a valid comparison.

Its not even filler...  it pure beef, that makes it not filler.  Seriously, ground meat is almost always the scrap, the "pink slime" just takes it beyond and extracts the scrap from some of the fat chunks they don't normally use....  why is this even a discussion?

You are correct,
but with the BBB backing the people claiming falls advertisement, i´d say that their point is still valid. Otherwise you are walking a slippery slope that could, in extreme cases,  turn into "you bought a plane, you never said you expected it to fly also".

Bioware obviously did give some people the idea the X,Z and Y would be in the game, but they weren’t. I´d say that, that  is something else then a case of expectations simply not being met.

See, yet again, you go on to attack me in your snide little tone. Yet I'm the one who's the "paid troll".

For the record, the only claim with even a hint of validity is the MP issue. Everything else is simply your expectations of what BioWare said being wrong, and you wanting to blame BioWare for it.
