Anyone else has the opinion that instantkills(Phantom,Brutes,Banshee) are stupid?

Other then krogan getting stabbed with a toothpick, and even then i think phantoms should be able to do some type of instantkill *knock you down and put that wrist rocket they have to the back of your skull*

On banshee's and atlas *atli* a team mate if they are lucky or skilled can knock you loose. On brutes and phantoms if you let one get that close, well you deserve to die. Even on gold for phantoms, one good shot gun blast before you run up and melee them as a krogan will knock their shields down and the melee will kill them / stun them before they skewer you.

Fix magnet grabs, but leave video game Darwinism alone

I don't mind the instakills but I do mind the magnetic grab powers of the Banshee, and to a lesser degree Phantoms. Rolling away only to be sucked towards her seconds later is probably the most frustrating thing about this game, even above having to spam charge 5-10 times before it will activate.

Any mechanic that completely removes all input from the player is just bad design. I wouldn't mind OHKs if they were quick time events that let you counter them via getting timing right on a random key press. That would still involve the player, but as it stands the second you feel yourself lose control you might as well get up and go make a sandwhich cause theres not a damn thing you can do about it.

Certain thigns from your team mates can stop OHKs on banshees, but the likely-hood of that happening is so slim it may as well not even exist. The way OHKs are implemented atm just feels like a cheap way to increase difficult - by essentially stopping the player from playing.

Banshees don't bother me, you can usually see them coming and they make a lot of noise ... those damned Cerberus Phantoms on the other hand - most of the time you don't see them until you're dead.

What I hate worse, though, is the executions: you get knocked out in a fight and then the enemies step on your face for good measure so your teammates can't rez you back up. Bad enough there's already a time limit for people to get to you, if I'm running my arse off through a field of monsters, across half a map, I don't want to see you got your face stepped on when I'm just about there ... that just pisses me off.

yes i think they are stupid. it's just sill that i can be at full health and shields and get killed because im Close to an enemy that is inclined to get closer to me.

it would be like giving the vanguards instant kills against boss enemies.

it's even more ridiculous when i see the 3 krogans melee ing the last banshee and not get executed, but then as a human Vg i charge a banshee, and the instant i hit that, I get picked up and killed because the biotic charge is broke.

Tactics mean **** all when it comes to being sucked in from across the map due to lag, or when the phantom just appears out of nowhere and one shots you. Read what people are complaing about...nobody is saying "awe, I have to use tactics but I don't want too...".


Lag is a fact of online gaming. Deal with it.

And that problem of the random phantom that "just appears out of nowhere" can be helped with BETTER TACTICS!

Leave it as is. All the insta kill mechanics have ways of being dealt with. The dev who was kind enough to post here mentioned how to deal with phantoms (and brutes and Atlases for that matter), and for Banshee's you can still break out of their Embrace of Death if your team are on the ball and focus fire her enough to stagger her. Unfortunately, most people who complain about insta grab kills are the "billy no mate lone wolf" archetypes who zoom off on their own far away from their team mates

I don't mind the executions, I just wish there were some different animations/effects besides "step on face"...occasionally putting the gun to your head and BLAM...or emptying a clip into you or stabbing you...

...I don't really want to think about what a cannibals execution move would look like, but...a cannibals execution  should look like that.

It'd be funny if the atlas would pick you up and toss you up in the air and you get a POV view of you whirling in all directions.

They should only insta-kill you when your shields are down.

Also get revived just to get instakilled at the moment you get up by a phantom or a banshee really.. sucks..

This is how I feel about it, yeah... I wouldn't want her to be unable to insta-kill anymore, nor even for it to stop being random, because then she wouldn't be as scary to fight. But those times that I've had lag and been inexplicably grabbed from what feels like a mile away, it didn't feel scary at all, just--yeah, cheap. So if that could be fixed, it would be awesome. 

P.S. Thanks to you (and everyone else involved) for making the sniper gameplay in ME3 awesome! :)

The phatoms should not be able to instant kill
I think the prime shoud have one too.
They need to fix the banshee because that **** pulled of some space jam **** on me once :/

I think I said this before, but I am quite fine with the 'instakill moves,' if it meant that the character would simply become incapacitated instead of dead without chance of revival. This way, they could at least try to rez themselves and flee/fight, or wait for a companion to rez them. Just being insta-killed when there is lag (or lag spikes), or strange magnet-hands through cover and walls, or other weird connection and cover and magic-grabbing problems is a path of frustration.

Have them be insta-incapacitated moves.

I've had a human male roll away from a banshee just to do a little sideways trot immediately back in front of her so she can one hit kill me. For something you can't medigel back from, it seems a little extreme sometimes.

so players don't derp-cover. just relocate and start shooting again. you just have to be careful.

I just got revived straight into an insta kill......this is just a lazy way to increase the difficulty.
