Anyone else has the opinion that instantkills(Phantom,Brutes,Banshee) are stupid?

If you're instakilled, you deserved it. Don't melee full-health banshee or brute, be careful with phantom. That adds challenge and it's welcome.

as we got a clear info now for when and how the instakill happens i was wondering about something else on the banshee
it happened to me twice yesterday night
i was playing on a batarian soldier, firebase condor, gold, blade armor lvl 2 was on and even without anyone else near the banshee and her not taking any damage from any source she dropped me without killing me (was still able to use medigel once she disappeared).
it happened to someone else too, got grabbed while everyone running around like scared chickens, she dropped him without killing.
what defines such "semi syncs"?
how is it possible to survive a banshee grab without anyone near you to help?

This, you need to learn their animations. If a Banshee is standing perfectly still before you charge/melee, expect to be insta-killed once your charge animation is finished.
If she is in the middle of walking/moving/releasing her shield explosion thing/throwing a warp, then go for it.

Atlas/Brutes are harder to predict, so just attack them from the side/behind with a charge not head on as they take a long time to turn around.

Vanguards are strong, but don't go charging head onto something that can insta-kill you.

I don't mind that they have the insta-kills, they never get me with them. What i do mind is when your team is down and the phantoms flock around people insta-killing as people medigel themselves up. Corpse camping.

I've seen this happen too. Maybe a glitch? Or maybe they died from enemy fire before or during the grab? I dunno

Yeah and what about when you're 4 meters away and the Banshee magically takes control of you?

That annoying "puff puff" sound, but when one is approaching me I stasis her and shoot her head off.

Also I hate turrets. :D

As the game is right now, instakills work fine so some classes can't totally dominate content (human vanguards hosting for example). But that doesn't mean insta-kill mechanichs aren't lazy to avoid having to write better AI codes for current units.

The Banshee's instant kill needs serious work, I don't mind that they can instant kill but when I've sprinted 10 foot away from one and then it glitchily draws me back to it and kills me I tend to feel pretty pissed off.

well as far as phantoms go theyre pretty easy , they die fast atleast or can be CCed via stasis and such , Banshees are another story , they literally break the game / define every aspect of OP and need to be nerfed , heavily Armored though asari are not logic fail there when looking at the rest of the reaper forces , can teleport through everything including walls and over parts of terrain that have no ground (aka from the landing pad on White to the corner uptop with the ammo box) , insta kill and when not teleporting can hit you with a dot / warp you cant dodge unless you can manage to duck into cover which most people wont be able to do half of the time. i can only think of 2 solutions for banshees that could be done (1 or the other not necesarily both) , either take that armor rating away , asari arent that durable before being turned to banshees , why should they be after and still be powerful adepts? look at husks and Marauders and Cannibals , none of them got armored yet they retain most of how they were before (marauders being good commanders / tacticians and being good marksman) , husks hitting people up in groups usually not exceling at anything . Brutes being the mix of Krogan and Turian shows with the brute force and armor but being slow. and the other solution is add a "counter" mechanic like you have with husks like someone else has said. something has to be done about banshees in multiplayer , we shouldnt be the only ones being "nerfed" why should they be allowed with staying OP?

with that i raise this question , what about Krogan Vangaurds? they cant roll away, but have ot turn and try to run =\\

That is the reason why you should host the game if you play as vanguard, it prevents a lot of awkward 1 shot moves. I've seen myself dragged around corners and some fair distances by banshees.

When you can't do something, that isn't adding challenge. When it's tricky to do something, that's challenge. That they have these instakill attacks that you can't do anything about aside from "not being able to use melee attacks" is what makes it a problem, if they were merely threatening in melee range, but could be avoided using skill, like Brutes are, then they would indeed be challenging. As it is, their instakill attacks are NOT a challenge, they are just cheap, and only provide a challenge to characters that shouldn't ever be in melee range anyways.

well moro , as i said in a post just above this , ive seen a banshee teleport through walls and from the landing pad on White to the corner up top with the railing and ammo box , so being a host wont change the banshee part too much =\\

It adds challenge for melee characters, maybe.  Ranged characters can still gun them down or blow them up with powers with little fear of retaliation.  It is not good game design.

Thats the point. Playing as an asari,put them in stasis,shoot or use warp. Brutes are an non issue how fast they die by warp bomb. As an engineer,just fool them with a drone/turret,decoy.
Most soldiers(except krogan) at least have marksmen/adrenaline to deal huge weapon damage to gun them down.

Vanguards(the krogan one for sure) are just gimped soldiers in this case while other classes could fullfill there designated roles.

I dont know how somebody couldnt see a problem here.

yes its annoying because half the time you've got away then just slide along the floor back towards them and get killed with no way to stop it, or using medigel and getting the instakill before you've regained control of your character

Fight phantoms with a Geth Plasma X and tell me what you think of them.  They go down almost as easily as an assault trooper with the right gun.

Seems like no one enjoys a challenge. Don't get close until you can finish the job. I always see a vanguard charge or a korgan heavy melee at a banshee with full barriers and then is killed. Know you have limits, please.
