Just something that I've seen several times through the forums, which bascially was wanting to play as the previous protagonists. My suggestion is to make that a possibility, but through a different means then that some may think of. Why only just play as your Warden or your rendition of Hawke for a brief moment, why not make it to where you could possibly play through a series of events where the three could possibly bump into each other on several occasions.

And what I mean by this is something like several play throughs, the first play through would be the new Protagonist and the story that relates with them until it gets up towards the end and kind of stops and fades out, then the next play through would be for example Hawke, and what he is doing at the moment while the first protagonist is doing their thing until they get around the same moment stops and fades out, then the third playthrough would be the warden doing his thing based on the choices and actions of what he/she did from origins and such and how that story would pertain to them and who they have been with etc. and gets to the same moment with the first and second playthrough.

Then towards the end you would basically have the choice of all three of them and litterally have many many different endings for each protagonist and how things turn out and so on. (first thought was a battle royale, but my first thought was how badass I made my warden compared to hawke and how much of a bloodbath it would be, lol)

Well that is what I am suggesting, I'm not expecting a huge thing out of this, but I just had to get this idea out of my head.

Its an interesting idea. A few potholes, however. ;)

For starters, one of my Wardens is a cold, dead corpse. So that could be rather tricky - assuming they don't come back as a shambling skeleton. That entire section can't easily be cut out if its integral to the game in some way.

Options, then. It would be possible to use my alternative char from that playthrough, the Orlesian Warden from Awakening, which would allow me to carry my decisions over. But...not so good for anyone who didn't play Awakening, who would need to have the generic "Warden, Hero of Ferelden" imported so they had someone playable. Or some other replacement.

I'd also pity anyone new to the series, as both the Warden and Hawke would be forced onto the player, despite neither being 'their' character and having no emotional connection to either. Plus, it would require some explaining as to who they were...

Interesting though the idea is, I think it would be so plagued with difficulty that its not something that we're likely to see from Bioware.

Well a lot of the issues mentioned can be remedied by the fading out part of the play throughs that I mentioned before, if there isn't anything pertaining to the next play through then you would either continue with the possible endings with that character for instance the main protagonist for the next possible game, or just have the final boss battle instead of the idea, not that hard to fix it, but if it was implemented would cause the actual time to complete one play through to go through the roof in my honest opinion.
