Ok, so just to get it clear, this is a post about Blood Magic.

I've never used it, but have read from everyone that no one seems to have a gripe about it even though in dialogue they are all dead set against it.
I'm quite a bit disappointed. If a Bioware rep reads this, is there any reason this was overlooked?

Yes, you're a Grey Warden and yes you have a certain amount of grease but I mean NO ONE mentioning it? NO ONE casting a disapproving glance? Even Wynne?

Come on Bioware, I love your games, and I think you guys are top draw, but you seriously dropped the ball on this one.

Remember in Baldur's Gate 2, if you just went around firing off spells in areas where you couldn't at least you got a response. The old Cowled Wizards. I know this isn't exactly the same but you see what I'm getting at. Considering how reviled Blood Magic is by the majority of the Ferelden population there should be some conseuqences to using it. Grey Warden or not.

I love the game, but they could have fixed this by adding a alignment bar for the player character.  This is one thing they did better in KOTOR series.  Evil actions move you twords evil and good actions move your twords good.  Then NPCs can react to the player based on that.  Perhaps they didn't have time to implement this type of option.

Wouldn't you think that you not doing something about the Blight would illicit more of a response, than you using a supposed forbidden school of magic? What would be the point of your companions making any comment on the tools that you deploy, when they know well enough that not using them mean certain destruction? Just take it as an understanding that your companion and other people of Fereldan have greater things to worry about than you using taboo magic.

Yeah I agree that not only blood magic, but other specializations should have more impact in the world in terms of lore.

I would have liked to specialize as a Templar, and have mages look at me warily, and fellow Templars would greet me warmly. I then would like to have access to a Templar-only chain quest that leads me to the legendary Carsomyr sword, or other Templar-only gear.

.. The whole point is not being able to be like that. No Chaotic Good, no reputation, no crimson character sheet background.

This is exactly what they wanted to avoid. First of all it isn't realistic. People don't carry a good/evil meter around IRL, just as they wouldn't show it to anyone. Whether people like you or not depend on the actual action and dialog you choose in their vicinity, and not some arbitrary good/evil scheme.

Secondly, this gives us more possible choices in how to make our char. We can make him rude and good, which will mean taking the good choices, but still being disliked, or an evil peoplepleaser. If the choices automatically effected all npc's we might be barred from making some choices due to party combosition.
This happens in BG f.ex., where  the power hungry and the greedy character will make the good choices for the HUGE monetary benefit.

Thirdly there are no power that you can balance between, like there is in the star wars universe. There are no "Force" that will make it possible to distinct between a good and an evil char. There powers in Ferelden are the same, whether good or evil.

When choosing bloodmagic, noone is around to see it, so it shouldn't affect relations (though i suppose an exception could be made if Wynne saw you actually using it).
