EA Support asked me to post this here.   I have seen other posts about the error message, but not to where the error simply will not go away.

Once I was able to workaround the patch and get a connection today (see thread about broken patch) I foolishly tried to purchase a PSP with real money (MS Points).

I got the failed to process message, but unlike many cases I have heard of, the message would not go away.  I called EA Support to find out about it.  Per the real money, I have to contact MS for that (stinks) but as to the message not going away they have no idea.  They said to post here for help, so here I am.

I have turned of the console and logged back in.  I have redownloaded my gamertag per phone support.

hmm thanks for the tip but it doesn't appear to be the same thing. In my case the transaction failed, I lost MS points AND the error never goes away. It is still happening even after restarting the console, clear cache....etc.

I have the same problem: I lost 240 MS points trying to buy a Premium Specter pack, got the error message, then (foolishly) tried to buy a Specter pack and lost another 160 MS points.

Since then, I always get the error message when I access the store and cannot buy Premium Specter or Specter packs with MS points. Using in-game credits still works though, so at least I can't waste real money on packs anymore...

I contacted origin help and got the following reply:
"I completely understand that you have issue with Mass Effect 3 N7 Collector's Edition Specter Pack. I know you have been disappointed and nothing can measure up to what you have been made to feel. This is a known issue to us and we are currently working on the issue."

Same here, have been days (since the great "patch" update)

Wrote to EA support, said nothing they can do until Bioware "fix" it. They even sent me an email afterwards said the case is closed.

Ok, ok I know the phrase, "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me."

I saw that the resur pack would allow me to use points even though I still get the "purchase failed" message EVERYTIME I open the store or buy a pack with credits. Anyaway, I tried it with points again with the same result. Now I have lost 480 points and can officially not use points to buy stuff.

It would seem fixing this would help you bioware as it would allow me to give you money. I know you are busy with the broken patch, but could I please get a cursory glance?

Seems we are all suffering from the last update, to a different degree, for me:

1. Game locked in "connecting to EA servers" for eternity at the startup screening. I have to manually login by pulling the LAN cable and press (Y) to connect.

2. SP, lost all bonus power at medbay, have to play another round to get them all back?

3. MP, broken store, can only purchase with in-game credits (good thing afterall maybe, something to stop me spending more MS points on this game).

There are people out there with a even longer list I am sure.

I am in the same boat with 1 and 3, maybe 2.   #2 is probably the reset issue detailed elsewhere.   I had not heard of your symptom until now.   Check your achievement progress from the main menu and if your progress on certain achievements is gone (ie unwavering, no. Of kills...etc) then that is the culprit.

Yeah, in #2, achievements were all gone too, lucky that I had them all done (1050/1050) just before the patch hit.

I had them all but unwavering. My solution was to unpack the old elite and use it to get it, as it is off the network, so no resets.

I tried everything I could find on the web...

Changing my live ID ( not gamer tag), delete my credit card info on live (I had to call Microsoft support twice), uninstall everything on the Xbox hdd and re-load them...

Nothing helps.

Additional:
Everything else works just fine and dandy
I can play multiplayer, i can play single player, i can sync my Galaxy At War stats, i can buy stuff from the xbox marketplace just fine, all my games are working fine and communicating to UPlay, or whatever other crazy proprietary site they choose to use.
I can use all the apps just fine (netflix, bbc iplayer, etc)

My ping is 18ms, download speed is 16.78MBs, upload speed is 5.32MBs
I have no issues using any other web service throughout my home.
My XBL gamertag is Lilmuckers
My origin name is Lilmuckers1

So, whatever is happening is really friggin weird.

not only does it not let you make a purchase; but it has basically kicked me from the server too. Can't make or join games after i get that message

The problem persisted for more than 3 weeks now, still no attention from Bioware…

everytime I go into the store, it just won't go away (I lost 480 MS Point, BTW).

It won't allow you to make purchase with MS Points, but the in game credit still works.
