I don't mind the time that its taking to get my commendation packs, what has been frustrating is the Origin Advisors who have on 4 separate counts told me that they have granted me my packs and obviously not done so. I can handle waiting for bugs to be smoothed out, but being lied to and bounced around by customer service reps is the part that gets me.

With that said, I do want to thank the Bioware mods for posting updates and giving us straight answers. It is much appreciated.

Bryan is right. As the saying goes "A stitch in time saves nine." Instead of rushing out a ****** poor patch/bug fix to appeal to the masses, they are taking their time to make sure the patch corrects the problem for good and prevent any future loopholes (impossible to predict) from happening, or at least in the immediate future.

They have infact granted you it, the way it works is your game looks at what you are entitled to (your registered content) and then it grants you what you have been entitled to then tracks what you have claimed for your entitlement so you cant get it again.

The bug was there was a way to the part of your game knowing you have already claimed your entitlement to reset back to an unclaimed state.

In order to prevent this issue from occuring we removed the content (the pack) from the game. So the customer support is doing what they can (making sure you have the entitlement) but the content doesnt exist at the moment.

If you're really going to use that logic, they should've delayed the release of the game, or at least the multiplayer component, by a few months. I mean, this isn't the ONLY glitch in multiplayer, as has been well documented in the forums multiplayer has numerous issues ranging from connection problems to people losing credits or real money points from failed pack purchases to continuing problems with people losing all of their unlocks.

I appreciate staffers updating us on the status of issues, but the fact that numerous issues keep cropping up even a month post-release suggests that the multiplayer framework was pushed out of the door before it was completely ready. I mean, they 'couldn't get the resurgence packs to work' so they had to add the new content to Spectre packs? If they have to wrestle so much with their own system it's no wonder fixes for all of these issues has been slow.

Developers can't possibly know all the glitches/bugs that are going to happen before the game is released. Of course they do quality testing, etc. but not every issue shows up. There is no way to test for every single scenario that presents itself on mass release. If they did you probably wouldn't see the game for another two years or so.

Yes, they should have.

But they didn't, and there is nothing that can be done to change that now. What they can do, however, is try to ensure that they don't make that same mistake again.

I understand that everyone is frustrated and I get that these delays are an inconvenience, however, there is only so much that the people at Bioware can do. There is limit to how fast they can get things done. Image if they released the fix three days ago without testing because everyone wanted their items, but it caused an even bigger problem. People would be up in arms about how Bioware should have waited to test out the fix first. Unfortunately, it seems Bioware is in a position where people will complain no matter what.

I am enjoying the Multiplayer in this game, even with the glitches and I suspect that many you reading this are enjoying it too, because if you weren't I would have to question why you are wasting your time playing. Yes, fixing the glitches would be nice and Bioware is working on it. So in this case, we can do nothing but have some patience. But more than that, we need to have some compassion and understanding for the people in the trenches at Bioware who are working hard to get us the content we want. Make no mistake, while it may seem like little is happening to us, the people at Bioware are working very hard day in and day out. So maybe we should give them a break and stop complaining that they should be doing more.

To those of you working at Bioware right now... Thank you for you hard work, it is appreciated by many of us in the community and has not gone unnoticed.

There is a degree of when to say "enough is enough" it is the job of a producer (extra credit had an excellent episode on this), if you have more time you will want to work on a new feature which will introduce a new set of bugs etc. There has to be a time when you say okay we are good to ship, we will fix our issues in patches.

As for your other comment, there is a plethora of issues that can come up that are not just based on our systems. We work with a large amount of external companies, and other internal companies that dont fit under the BioWare label. The thing is if there is an issue with any of these it can cause problems, to give you an example of companies we have to work with ill give you the two largest Sony and Microsoft. To get everyone on the same page is not easy and every one has its own issues. Some of the issues that have come up are not necessarily within our control.

@Buzzkill183 I believe you are refering to Rob Blake's comment regarding the reave fix, he stated that the fix would be coming in an upcoming patch (this was a month ago). He also stated yesterday (I believe) that due to limitations we were not able to provide the fix in this patch that came out at the start of this week. It is still coming though.

Well, I'm not saying I expect it to be 100% bug free. It's the number of issues that's astounding, as I said, it seems like there's a new issue every week. Plus, some issues are resulting in people actually losing real money, which you would think would be a priority to fix.

Ya, I just got off the phone with customer support not to long ago... I keep getting the same answer, "they are working on a fix".  I spend money on these packs and all they can say a month later is they are working on it?  And I dont even blame the custoemr support people, since it is obvious that EA is tying there hands to either give refunds or give points back.

Now, the guy I talked to did what he could to help me and I respect that, but the company as a whole as delt with this terribly.  As it stands, I donated money to EA/BW and the only way for me to get my money back is to fight the charges on my CC...

Guys... Brian said their doing EVERYTHING they possibly can.... What do you not understand? This is a game that reaches out to hundreds of thousands of people like you and me. An untested patch means there might still be a way to beat a system they spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of man hours testing. Thus, throwing money that is not free (like your DLC) out the window. Relax and play the game, earn your credits, buy the premium spec packs and earn your chars and weapons and when the packs come, they come. Bad business would be sending an untested patch out there just to appease the few, when good business would dictate giving this issue its rightful testing and make everyone's money well spent, BW included.

Thanks for clarifying that Bryan, from reading the forums I had a feeling that was the case. It just became very frustrating after being told "I have granted your packs, log into the game to claim them" several times by different advisors. (It certainly felt like I was just being passed around and being told that so I would go away)

Like I said, i'm at the point now where I'm content with waiting until they show up. I just feel that the communication between Bioware and Origin's customer service was very poor. Either that or the origin advisors just don't care.

I've been a big Bioware fan since NwN, and I really hate to see you guys being reflected poorly because of Origin's service reps. It might be something to look in to if you aren't already, because trust me when I say that it was far from good customer service.

Again, thank you and keep up the hard work!

Thank you Bryan for all the answers!

Now, if that thread was sticky, or a link in the sticky thread was provided to this thread... I wouldn't have posted in other related thread about this...

I love how people are upset about how long this takes. I know we are used to instant gratification in the 21st century but some things can not be instant. I have been waiting and will continue waiting. I have never been scorned by bioware in the past and dont believe they would do so now. some people abused something and bioware is working their hardest to fix it. when it becomes available i'll be happy. until then, i'll keep playing a hour every couple of days as time permits and have fun.

I'm slightly disappointed because I promoted three characters.

But only slightly as i'd probably just end up with a Tempest and Crusader again :P

Very true! I'm in love with the Multiplayer and the Store and how it functions. I've not lost real money and really only had one major connection issue, but that was on my end. My Network Adapter decided to lose power with only 9 seconds left before we got a full extract on a Gold Match. (My End). So not everyone is having a bad time or is frustrated. I do feel sorry for Bioware, especially since most of it is stuff they can't control or foresee. I'mi do hope the glitches and the people who took multiple commendation packs are dealt with severely.
