They have infact granted you it, the way it works is your game looks at what you are entitled to (your registered content) and then it grants you what you have been entitled to then tracks what you have claimed for your entitlement so you cant get it again.

The bug was there was a way to the part of your game knowing you have already claimed your entitlement to reset back to an unclaimed state.

In order to prevent this issue from occuring we removed the content (the pack) from the game. So the customer support is doing what they can (making sure you have the entitlement) but the content doesnt exist at the moment.

So for those of us who didn't receive the (Raptor) commendation pack before it was taken down, is it supposed to show up in our registered content currently? Or does it only show up there after we 'opened' it from the game store?  I missed how it was supposed to correctly work since I missed the Goliath event.  So I'm confused because I've seen people say its supposed to show up there, but not if its supposed to be there if we never received one before it was taken down.  Thanks.

If you completed the objective it should show in your registered game content currently...at least mine does :innocent:

The weapons are really bad anyway. 3/4 times you'll get something rubbish. If you ever manage to get the packs, keep your fingers crossed and be prepared to cry if the weapon you get doesn't include the letter "V".

Now now no need to stop doing weekends. Once the the fix goes live and we get our packs bioware will now have the solution to the pack exploit, making giving rewards for future weekends go out quicker/smoother.

My recommendation is that after 24 hours from these packs going out talk to EA Live Support they will get your sorted.

Same here. People say it should show up, but its not there (and yes I did complete the objective, 4 promoted, and online option set to on). Thats why I was hoping Bryan could answer it.

Edit: Guess I should have waited one more minute

Ok, so it should show up (both in registered content and in the store) after you start giving them out again, once it gets to our name, if not I will contact EA Live Support (is that the Origin one?). Thank you.

Use this to talk to EA Help. If Livechat isnt aviable, use email option. People rag on EA support but every time i had a problem they sorted me out in 20 hours tops. And if You manage to get a livechat session They usually help in few minutes flat.

@Bryan I feel like there should be a sticky that explains the process for patches and fixes and how long it takes, just so people understand that its not typing in a few lines of code after watching a YouTube video of credit glitching or a 12 year old yelling at the camera that he didn't get his Commendation Pack, lol

@gilgamesh there is one in the PC Support forums for how patching works
http://social.biowar...4/index/9948396

We are not going to reveal to people how we are doing these fixes however.

Look, I got my packs (and nothing in addition; haven't even started SP yet :P ), so I don't have cause to complain.

But this is getting absurd. It has been well over a week since everyone was supposed to get their packs. Hell, the multiplayer has been live for over a month, and longer if you count the multiplayer beta.

And yet we are still having problems with kit and unlock resets, missing packs, missing credits, spending credits/real money only to have them eaten by connection errors, etc etc etc.

And yet the moment that players discover an exploit in their favor, the moment that Bioware's bottom line is threatened? Bam, fix within hours of reporting.

I know, I know. You guys are working on it. You are working as hard as you can. The exploit was an easy fix, and everything else is complicated.

But can you see how this would make your customers feel? Can you imagine how frustrating it is to be someone who has paid money and spent a good chunk of time playing your game, and only get sporadic and vague answers and estimates to when these bugs will get fixed?

Bioware, you guys are awesome, and I sympathize with how exhausted everyone working in Edmonton must be at the moment. But this isn't acceptable. It isn't good enough, and it isn't fair to your customers.

If you disagree with me, or even if you think you can get away with this level of performance, by all means, carry on. Otherwise, you really need to do a whole lot better.

Hello,
You are correct it has been over a week. Of that week there has been 4 full working days and now today is the 5th. The fix was not available immediately (as Scylla posted) it was available on the Thursday. This now leaves so far 2-3 days (if you count today) for testing. Given that in that time we have released a DLC which was supposed to have a special "resurgance" pack with it, that we had to try and get working one then having to switch to premium spectre pack instead this took one of those days. So now we are down to 1-2 days worth of testing (although yes there was still some testing done on tuesday for this issue), we dont have droves of employees sitting around "incase". We are now waiting on an external company to do something to finish testing, they can not turn around on a dime for a request that comes from us that would just be a poor business practice.

So your statement of "bam" fix within hours is incorrect it still took 2 days to fix. Furthermore it was luckily an easy enough issue to reproduce (which in development is half the issue). We found that we can make the fix without having to do code alteration thus we can potentially deploy it very quick without having to go through a certification process with first parties.

Things take time, and doing things right takes more time.

Edit: Spelling of Days as I had put down "Downs"

Thanks for the explanation, but honestly I think most of us would like regular updates regarding this sort of thing. You locked the other thread and haven't updated the "FAQ" on it since you locked it. Just a little something on there like "We're still working on this issue" maybe once a day would be greatly appreciated by all (except maybe the people who don't read the first page of a thread).

Thank you for the updates, I'll be keeping up with this. It's annoying, but I'll deal.

What exactly is Bioware's stance on those who've cheated the system and gotten free packs? Do you plan to punish them in some way, or simply plan to prevent them from cheating again?

More needy version of the same: Will those who didn't cheat get some sort of reward? :x

So are the people who did exploit the problem going to be able to keep all their unearned extras (and possibly even get another pack awarded) when the fix is deployed while those of us who were sleeping/working/whatever when the packs were originally released get only the one...after having to wait well over a week extra?

I personally am not involved with what is happening with those who exploited, so I cant comment on it.

Also no they will be the regular commendation, nothing extra

Software developer here. Consider the telephone game where you try to get the same message through a bunch of people by word of mouth. Now repeat it ad nauseam for an entire Shakespeare play, then try to read it, its not going to come out the same.

That example should put in perspective the kind of amalgamation that a very large software project can represent, so many coders independent of each other working on the same project. Luckily most of us know what we are doing and we have a lot of rules that keep us mostly on the same page, but everyone makes typos(bugs) once in a while. Ones that auto correct don't catch or are even caused by auto correct get me? Keeping grammar errors punctuation and spelling mistakes(bugs) out of something that large on the first try is simply improbable.

Next you have fans of said play in an outrage over the state of the work, some think the first to be fixed should be act 1(reave sound issue) some act 2(raptor packs) and others are convinced the most important part to fix is the sentence structure(rare crashes and floating bugs) so that it is readable. Meanwhile you are one person and can choose one thing to fix yourself.

That is the situation Bioware is in more or less now. They only have so many developers. Also you'd never fix anything if you turned on a dime every time a new issue was discovered. So we start fixing the reave sound issue when raptor packs go bad, do we turn tail and never fix the sound issue? Because new and bigger or smaller bugs will always be pouring down the pipe.

I for one appreciate the work before me. I originally thought multiplayer was going to be a tacked on unsatisfying experience. Bioware shut me up.

So from one large software project coder to another: The bug tracker count may never reach zero, but some of us notice that it counts down once in a while and we know the effort that takes.

I guess what I am failing to see is how ya can't just write a code for rewards where it locks you out once it has been redeemed the first time. Ya only get one starter pack and once it is redeemed *poof* its gone for good. A layman such as myself tends to think that coding could have been repurposed in some manner. But eh, maybe that couldn't have been done.

Just wanted to say that you are the proof that Bioware is a great company. I never saw someone working on the game be as active as you are in a forum.
Thank you and keep up!

So, if the pack is not appearing in our registered game content but we did accomplish the mission, what would be the next step we should take?

It's probably not that simple. To put in this redundancy check, they'd either have to write a new function or add it onto an existing one. Since these functions are probably called multiple times in multiple places (to make them more efficient), it's probably not as simple as we think it is as laymen.

You are very patient for answering all these question.  Also am I the only one reading everything this guy says with the Admiral Gerrel voice in my head?

Thanks Bryan, as negative as these forums can be right now. We do appreciate the communication and I am glad I found this thread.

Right now I am trying to keep my disgust with single player separated from my delight with multiplayer and this thread certainly helps.

@Buzzkill183 I believe you are refering to Rob Blake's comment regarding the reave fix, he stated that the fix would be coming in an upcoming patch (this was a month ago). He also stated yesterday (I believe) that due to limitations we were not able to provide the fix in this patch that came out at the start of this week. It is still coming though.

Thanks for the info!  I just remembered the quote incorrectly...not the first time to happen Image IPB

Still wish the problems, bugs, lost credits, etc could be fixed before other problems.  That doesn't make me selfish, I think that makes me a paying customer Image IPB

J/K - I am just just selfish Image IPB

Have a great weekend!

Alright! Thanks for the additional info! Hopefully this can be fixed soon, so I can be less emo... and check a little less often. :)
