Reward packs may or may not be rewarded?

What can I say? Thank you Bioware for an incredible MP class and store system. Never before I had to make so many calculations. I borrowed admiral Hackett's phrase.

Hello,
You are correct it has been over a week. Of that week there has been 4 full working days and now today is the 5th. The fix was not available immediately (as Scylla posted) it was available on the Thursday. This now leaves so far 2-3 days (if you count today) for testing. Given that in that time we have released a DLC which was supposed to have a special "resurgance" pack with it, that we had to try and get working one then having to switch to premium spectre pack instead this took one of those days. So now we are down to 1-2 days worth of testing (although yes there was still some testing done on tuesday for this issue), we dont have droves of employees sitting around "incase". We are now waiting on an external company to do something to finish testing, they can not turn around on a dime for a request that comes from us that would just be a poor business practice.
So your statement of "bam" fix within hours is incorrect it still took 2 days to fix. Furthermore it was luckily an easy enough issue to reproduce (which in development is half the issue). We found that we can make the fix without having to do code alteration thus we can potentially deploy it very quick without having to go through a certification process with first parties.
Things take time, and doing things right takes more time.
Edit: Spelling of Days as I had put down "Downs"
Bryan - communication is everything.
Even if it was a simple daily post of 'sorry, still working on it', or even better, a 'looks like there's been a delay. We want to make this right so it's still being tested by those involved, hang in there!' kind of post.
People are can be horribly understanding as long as there's communication.
Using this case for example, you know, thanks for letting us know that it'll *most likely* be out this week. And now, the week's already gone and there's no official news. Best part was the sticky was un-stickied. Don't you think it seems like a 'sweep under the carpet' kind of behaviour?
Doesn't seem right for a company that prides in actively communicating with the fan base eh?
Small little things like that can helps save a lot of time and energy on both sides: bioware trying to put out fires, fans discussing about problems instead of contributing to the community.
The sticky that I had up there was taken down by someone whose job it is, is to work with the forums. My job actually does not involve that, I am choosing to be here. I believe they thought there was too many stickies and Scylla's thread is the one that has been officially recognized. His states we are currently testing, and that is indeed the last update, because we are indeed testing still.
Thanks, and I totally appreciate the time and effort you've put in here taking the heat.
But the update was 9 days ago, and his 'coming week' has already come...and gone!
=\\
I guess Schylla's gotta to work on communicating, not you, but like I said, thanks anyway

I have been trying to get someone to offer a clear explanation as to why this is happening from every rep I can send an email to (EA/Bioware/Sony) but no one seems to understand what I'm talking about, and I have been repeatedly told to post on the forums (I have a 3 week old thread on PS3 tech support social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/346/index/10434370 ) but so far no one has actually explained what the issue is.
I would really like to be able to stop speculating and accept an honest explanation. Are you able to offer us (PS3 users) an answer?

I apologize for the extended wait everyone, as to those who are asking, I am the one who has coordinated the testing. There are certain things beyond our control, and as I stated not everything is done within our house, so sometimes there is waiting that we have to do. So with that in mind it will just be a little while longer.

This is a bit of a delayed response, as it sounds like the packs are finally getting sent out.
I am well aware that it takes time to fix glitches, and that the time it takes to hot-fix the multiple-pack exploit by ceasing all commendation pack distribution is significantly less than the time it apparently took to fix the system to allow pack distribution without the presence of the exploit.
Having said that, it is still incredibly irksome that of all the bugs to get fixed within 2 days of discovery, it was the exploit that allowed people to get extra promotional weapons, bypassing the biweekly wait for commendation pack related operations, as well as the inevitable screw-ups in the distribution.
In other words, the exploit was technically benificial to the player. I'm not saying that it was good; unchecked, this exploit could have royally screwed the momentum of the multiplayer.
But if you could choose between A) Having all of your kits and items get reset, or
In pointing out how quickly the "positive" bug was fixed compared to the many, many negative bugs that have yet to be fixed for over a month, I wasn't pointing out a technical problem. I was pointing out an image problem.
You are aware that you guys have an image problem, right? Perceptions, even if based on half-truths, exaggerations, or straight-up lies, are powerful things. I will say right now that I think that a great deal of the flak that Bioware has been getting recently is unfair. But its there, and it has created an atmosphere that forces even long-time fans to start questioning the company's priorities and motivations. Combine that with the reputation of EA, and you get a narrative that ends up undermining any and all efforts from Bioware to make its customers and fans happy.
Just look at some of the negative and suspicious responses to the announcement of the Resurgence Pack, a rare free map pack in an era of $15 map packs being the norm.
