Note: Then tested playing on same class, no changes with the a large group of other weapons (including the Phalanx, Falcon, Mattock, Avenger, Viper, Carnifex, Predator, and a few more) and had no trouble on the same difficulty, except with the predator, which wasn't exactly amazing.

You're enjoying the Striker you say? Interesting...
No, that would be EVERY SMG. Sadly, including the GPSMG, though it and the Hornet are okay on Bronze. (Just okay. Unlike the Hurricane, which is shockingly terrible even on a turian soldier on Bronze.)justgimmedudedammit wrote...

I tried Stricker II and didn't enjoy it. Does that count for anything? Not accurate and the explosives were way under-powered. I would expend an entire clip on the (super-buffed) Geth troopers on Bronze and be lucky if I killed one.
That's because it fires these:
The Striker, on the other hand, like the Scorpion and Javelin, fires fun. That means that it has a purpose whether or not it is viable on Gold. And really, all those guns are better than any SMG.

The Striker? No, not it enjoying it all that much. It's total lame sauce and will go back on my shelf.
I'll tell you one thing I really am enjoying though: the ending to the SP campaign. Boy do I love that ending!
It would be a terrible shame if some sadist at Bioware got it in their head to change it.
You. Are the complete opposite of everything that is right in this world.

I find the Damage that it has utterly shambolic. On silver, firing full auto with an extended clip at level 2, it can barely take down a specialist infantry target (Centurion, Rocket trooper, etc.) in an entire magazine.
Then u just must miss alot, because this gun will stagger and make pudding out of specialist infantry targets and whoever is standing next to them on Silver.

My main complaints are the absurdly low levels of spare ammo, the "rev up" time which leaves you pretty vulnerable (Marksman partially counters this) and the weight.
The Striker in particular is the kind of weapon that has great utility in some situations but demands that at the very least you have a side arm. The weight makes this problematic.
In general weight is a big problem for soldiers; you have to try and figure out how to balance damage benefits from Adrenaline/Marksman with damage of heavier weapons; heavy weapons forfeit time spent with damage buffed.
I say they ought to either massively buff Soldier encumbrance or slash base CD for Adrenaline Rush and Marksman so that they can take two weapons into battle without forfeiting so much.
I haven't noticed any issues with it firing blanks, but I have a feeling that's part of why it's being called a Super Soaker so much. This is something that needs to be fixed desperately, along with the Falcon/Scorpion/Vanguard.

No question on hitting the targets, All shots are impacting, igniting, and I am recieving the "flash" on the healthbar, as well as a minor decrease in their health. It's not that it's inaccurate, it's that there's no damage behind it.
Look at it this way: Each shot has about 1.5x the damage of a Mattock rifle, said rifle will fire as fast as you can press the trigger, which means you can easily get most of a mag out in a single second. the DPS is much lower than most other weapons, the AoE is too small to make up for this, it cannot stumble any shielded target (meaning that you are utterly helpless against anything with a shield, as by the time you whittle away their shield, they'll have killed you completely) and of course, it suffers from a longer reload, and projectiles which (like the Falcon) refuse to spawn if you tap-fire the trigger. Note also that the Mattock (which is one of the best ARs, but nowhere near as effective as other weapon types) can also be modified for penetration (the Striker cannot, as it fires projectiles) and does not require a stabilizer to be effective, as such it is a very diverse gun that can be customized for whatever application you need (Striker isn't effective at what its job is supposed to be, let alone another job).
In other words, it's the falcon all over again, except this doesn't stagger every shot and isn't airburst. None of the other weapons are really that effective either. The geth SMG is useless against anything, especially armored targets, and the Kishock only works well with a Batarian sentinel or Cryo class (which will only be able to make use of it against unshielded targets). None of the weapons they've added actually solve any of the problems with combat in the original game, they just add more problems. And now that I think about it, it's as if they just took the weapons which are disliked/regarded as useless by the community (Falcon, Locust/Hurricane and Javelin) and then made them even worse.

Geth smg is ok I guess, but only because it weighs nothing since ULM actually works on it. Only really use it on a) husks
Harpoon gun is lack luster, take widow or BW instead....???....profit!
Striker could be good but suffers from same problems falcon does which like people stated over and over: if not host, it tends to whiffle most the time. MEh.

Of course, there is the problem witn hit detection and netcodes and all that. It makes me sad because guns like the Striker have huge potential and feel different than your average point-and-shoot guns
