May the Lifeforce be with London... Posted Image

From the 1. Me and now most clearly with 3. Me, I've had the movie Lifeforce(1985) back in my head.

Link to the Lifeforce movie on imdb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0089489/

"Storyline:
A space shuttle mission investigating Halley's Comet brings back a malevolent race of space vampires who transform most of London's population into zombies. The only survivor of the expedition and British authorities attempt to capture a mysterious but beautiful alien woman who appears responsible." - from imdb.

 - This movie have the husk's (space vampire zombies).
 - Infect the populous to husk's.
 - The space ship, up in space over London, look a little like the Crucible (google: lifeforce spaceship)
 - A perfect and deadly women on the enemy side (Miranda Lawson) (pls. google: lifeforce Mathilda May Posted Image).
 - London as main place.
 - Beam of light to transport people from London up to ship.
 - Returns every nn year's.
 - And Mathilda May Posted Image

Canbe someone have been inspired by it.

 Hold the line.
 Over and out.

Sorry to necro this thread, but I JUST watched LIFEFORCE and when I saw the ending I thought to myself, "this reminds me a lot of the ending to Mass Effect 3"!  I admit that what first triggered that was the red and blue lights and how they beamed up to the alien ship.  Did a search on the internet to see if anyone had thought of this and voila, this old thread.  I'm 4 years late but YES, I think there was some clear influence on ME3 from LIFEFORCE.

Not seeing the Miranda Lawson connection though because I don't see her as an enemy in ME3.

It reminded me a bit of the Control ending. Any story (Ghost Rider finale is another one) where the hero joins the villains to stave off complete destruction reminds me of Control.

and, of course, there's the blue light moving all of the souls up to the ship, and when the hero merges with the villain, his light is red, as with the control ending.  NICE catch.
