I like to try and make them look like enemies (Cerberus colors on the humans, make the Geth Infiltrator look like a Hunter, etc.) But there are indeed some very cool combos. Try:

black, black, red, 1, medium gray, red
Or you can do other combos like:
gunmetal gray, black, medium gray, 1, gold, yellow. That would make him look like the Salarian Spectre from SP.
Or you could try for the Alliance Marine colors:
dark blue, bright blue, black or a darkish blue (lighter than primary), camo, black, white

I saw a Krogan the other day decked out like the Partridge Family bus. It was hilarious.

The awkward moment when you think the vorcha next to you is naked. Played around with a few black and gold schemes as well as the aqua geth you see a lot of. Didn't include my "Ironbull" krogan soldier. Bull Stark, the alien brother?

Anyways.. my favorite color combo is on the Asari Justicar:

Primary: Black
Highlight: Blue
Secondary: White
Pattern: Pattern 1
Pattern Color: Black (like the facial markings, dont care about the armor part)
Lights: White
Skin: White (inb4allyouhumansareracist)

Only annoyance with this (and using blue period) is when on ghost.. turns to purple..

Pattern: 1 I think (bar like marks)
Pattern Color: White
Lights: Turquoise color from the n7 guns

Jakobs XX (borderlands reference) Salarian Infiltrator:
Primary: Black
Highlight: Red/Maroon
Secondary: Black
Pattern: 1 (thin lines)
Pattern Color: Dark Yellow
Lights: Orange/gold

I do indeed but I make them anywhere, for any board. I can also do other things with Gimp.

Though, I do have to admit, these boards limit what one can accomplish with a sig quite a bit.

a combination of red, yellow and orange with the camo pattern ;p

Edit: primary: Bright Red (the one half way down)
tint: Yellow (under the orange)
secondary: Dark Red
pattern: Camo
pattern colour: Orange
lights: Orange
