I'll sum up my attitude towards the Extended Cut in one word:
Pessimistic.
What are your thoughts on the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut?

It depends how the whole "more personalized" aspect turns out, I guess. I really think if we accept the fact that the ending isn't going to be changed, the biggest problem that remains is that it all ends so abruptly, and that at least is fixable. So we'll see. I'd say I'm cautiously optimistic.

Honestly my expectations are so low for ea and bioware now that they could just put the nintendog thing from smash brothers on the screen and i'd probably accept it as "meh another EAware special"
And then I'd kick Casey Hudson and Mac Walter in the nuts...if anyone could find them.
But i'm still hopin!

Too soon to say. Since they're not changing the endings, I doubt they will ever be "good" but maybe if they pour enough ketchup on them I can choke it down...

Like others, I am cautiously optimistic. I really don't think they can make it worse, so I am interested to see what they come up with. I just want clarity and closure. Oh, and feeling like I beat the game and was not handed "victory" would be nice too.

Cautiously hopeful.
They have good writers and creators working on this, they certainly have no end of feedback (putting it mildly!) and I just do hope they can work out how to make things better.

I'm holding off on new ME3 playthroughs until I see release notes on what's in the Extended Cut. I'm wondering if there might be a possibility of restored expanded dialogue/cinematics that were originally cut for the 1.0 release that might occur before London as well as the ending tweaking.

I hope they address the major issues that people have at the moment. I do commend them for listening and at least try to do something about it?

One of these can be solved by the Extended Cut.
One of these cannot.
The question I find myself asking is, can the Extended Cut regarde one of these well problems enough for me to swallow the other?
I find myself hesitating to hope.

Pessimistic. I will reserve final judgement until it actually comes out, but given that they say they are not actually changing the ending, I'm not very hopeful.

I'm kinda on the wire. I'll admit i do hope for a "happy" ending option (cause honestly I'm getting a little sick of the games I play ending with either being bitter-sweet or "to be continued") But it's by no means a deal breaker. Anyway Bioware is in a dangerous position. With all the tweets, and articles popping up and giving people hope (especially those hoping for a "rainbows and butterflies" ending) it's kinda like before the game came. If this dlc does not give enough people closure and satisfaction things could get worse then they were a few weeks. I believe they can do it but you know the saying "once bitten, twice shy"

I'm hopeful... which makes me scared... because when you have hope you open yourself to pain... I would very much like Bioware to come out with an official statement telling us what they are gonig to be addressing... No PR talk just here's some of the options that have been opened here is what we are doing... SPOILERS be damned...

I am catiously optimistic. I want it to be awesome, but i'm worried it won't be (once bitten twice shy) I know Bioware are capable of awesome (just about everything prior to ME3's ending) and I want this DLC to be so, but the ME3 ending has also shown they are capable of some really awful stuff too...
I live in hope.

I'm really looking forward to it. I seem to be one of the few that wouldn't mind so much if things were left as they are - yes, I'm not entirely sure what was going on in those last 10 minutes, but sometimes you don't need to answer all the questions for the story to be satisfying in my opinion. I think Bioware have spent a lot of time listening and reading peoples' criticisms over the past month, and they will address most of the reasonable requests for more info/closure etc while remaining true to the original story. I think there are going to be a lot of people who have already made up their minds that they will not like this regardless. And no doubt they will pontificate on the matter on this forum for a while! Either way, they're the ones who will be missing out. Maybe I'll download it twice, once for me and once for them!

I'm very cynical about it, got a quite pessimistic view on it. A bi-product of ME3, normally i would be rather optimistic about it but i just don't feel that i want to be that just to be possibly disappointed once again so shortly

I really want it to be reasonable and fulfilling but I also fear that the damage done is beyond repair.

I'm excited too. Starchild will still annoy me, but the lack of context, clarity, and closure bothered me the most. If Shepard can actually have a discussion about the tech singularity instead of nodding and going along, then maybe I can feel more satisfied with the ending. As it is, before I came to BSN, I hadno idea what the tech singularity was. You know, I would love to question him and bring up the quarians/geth and EDI. If Shepard's limited perception isn't enough, then Starchild needs to provide more reasons than what he did in only 14 lines of dialogue.
I also am irked by the Normandy retreat. No way would Joker, Shepard's LI and friends just fly away and ditch Shepard and the fight like cowards. This is at the top of my list of what needs to be explained.
I don't like the direction the ending took, but I can accept it as long as this DLC will have it make sense.

Ionno, since they made it clear Casper the space ghost is here to stay I doubt it'll do me any good.
Aside from all the "technial" issues with the story that have been named in here a million times over, I just didn't like the general change in direction from clear cut good and evil to what seemed evil was evil but isn't so evil at all but really good just looking evil from a certain perspective because all this destruction in reality is really preserving....ouh caaamaaaan......

Depends.
If it's crap I'll be a raging bear at home.
If it's awesome, I will be happy, but there will always be apart of me wondering why this wasn't in the game in the first place.
Side note: Allen if you're reading this, I hope that while you are interacting as a fan your also taking note for your fellow DA members, and this is part of your teams effort to "listen" to the fans.
The unfortunate truth for you guys is what goes on here will more than likely impact your projects too., you know, cause you guys bear the Bioware name too.

Cautious optimism. I'd really want it to work.
No doubt there's some playworthy dlc planned in addition to the EC and I wouldn't want to miss out on those due to having the ending spoil the whole thing for me.

I'm afraid it's not going to resolve enough issues or isn't going to be substantial enough to truly make the ending satisfying.
I continue to hope they remove the Normandy sequence entirely and replace it with something that makes sense, but I don't expect that they will, and I'm not sure whatever explanations they invent are going to really improve the ending enough for me to enjoy it (or at least enough for me to overlook all the problems with it).
I look forward to seeing what they do, even if I'm currently expecting to be disappointed.
