I'm pretty optimistic about it. I think Bioware will go out of their way this time to make most fans happy. I think there will be a number of major retcons (despite their official statement of not "changing" the ending) to make things make more sense.

I wanted a different ending.

But if we get an extended cut of the existing end? I'll be okay with it so long as it ties off all the loose threads (like what happened to everyone/everything).

So as others have said.. cautiously optimistic.

Interested. I've come to terms with the Control ending even without clarity/closure. I'm curious what BioWare will do with that ending as well as the other two. Glad it's free!

I'm glad we're getting it. I know lots of people wanted a new ending and unless that ending wasn't a 4th one but a complete re-write the problems with the first three endings would still there.

Hopefully this extended cut will answer and lot of questions. Because that's what the game left me with.

Given what they've said about it, I've got very little hope. Any ending that still includes the absurdity of godchild and synthesis space magic loses me. I don't want an "extended" version of space magic. I want space magic removed.

I am not really interested in it I did not like the entire thing and i got what they were going for allready so I don't need clarification, closure to a lacklustre ending isn't what i'm interested in

Another one that kind of irked me was the mass relays exploding, which since it was established in Arrival that doing so would destroy the nearby systems.  If they explained that one too that would be nice. Posted Image

They  already explained it in a interview. The Mass Relays did not supernova because they were not ruptured like the one in arrival.

I'm very happy, I didn't completely dislike the ending but I thought it was rushed , unexplained and it lacked closure. Now the extended cut is getting all that right.

Hopeful and cautious. If Bioware messes this one up, it's going to be the last insult I will take from them as a customer.

I don't want to be forced to see my Shepard die. There should be an option where she/he lives.

I want my little blue children darn it! ><

I'm just troubled that Shepard had no way of knowing that and didn't hestitate to destroy the relays without asking "uh, won't doing that supernova the hell out of everything?" We as gamers know at the end that we didn't wipe out the galaxy, but Shepard had no way of knowing that before making his choice. Anyway, I'm starting to let the plot holes go and move on; I figure BioWare can't fix that without changing Shepard's conversation with the Catalyst, which doesn't sound like their intent.

Exceedingly cautious and skeptical, but hopeful. Hopeful because it's free, which is an excellent show of good will.

If they can actually pull this off, and 'fix' the ending, I'll go back to throwing buckets of money over the fence onto their property.

Just don't get your hopes and expectations too high. There will be new closure and scenes but don't be unrealistic and expect them to do radical change, I'd hate to see you guys making threads on how pissed you are because you had your expectations far too high.

Yeah, blue babies desired. House on ranoch desired. Chilling on a beach with garrus desired. We'd probably study seashells on behalf of Mordin.

I'll wait and see and I'm optimistic about it, they can't possibly screw up once more. Can they? I hope not because that will just make things worse for them and for us. However, I really wish they would talk about it more and not through twitter because that doesn't give us anything conclusive about it. I want them to give us more details, I don't understand what's so difficult about that.

it'll either be the smartest thing bioware ever does, or the dumbest

I am gonna hold out hope for this DLC, I a gonna play through again and see what they added, the game is far too good to do any less, but if the Extended cut falls flat on its face, I am probably not going to get any BW game new for a long, long time if ever.

I am not looking for a Disney ending just one that I can understand. I would just go with the Indoctrination theory and tack it from there

hmmm
on the one hand im cautiously optimistic. i managed to overlook the flaws in the game up until the very end.
on the other hand, when i got the "ending" without closure, epilogue or a good choice.... i kind of felt seriously let down. so much so, in fact, that im not sure ill be able to enjoy whatever comes next.

BUT bioware might be able to turn this around, and right now, im hoping against hope that theyll actually do something right again.

(bit off topic now, but i read a few "game up until thessia was good" comments and just cant resist giving my 2 cents worth on the subject)

that being said the game in general wasnt that good when it came to villains (TIM and kai leng were really disappointing) and choice (i can only get tali half way through the game again, most dialogues only have two or three options). however those points arent as bad considering my main problem with kai leng is that he doesnt seem dangerous enough, which might be different if you dont save kirrahe or thane and given that there are a lot of variables from me1 and 2 to consider, that actually do have an effect in some way.
still, in further playthroughs even minor things like, the fact that the visual appearance seems to have gone a step backwards behind ME ONE or the fact that ashleys suddendly a bimbo with boob implants (srsly, did you see those things stand out when shes lying on the bed in the hospital?) and collagen injections, just start bugging me.
also, notice the weird walk that tali has when she gets reintroduced, as well as diana allers when she wants to do that interview in your cabin, youd think they either really have to go pee or are walking down a cat walk, which is not as sexy as i think that was meant to be.

but maybe thats just me ranting

still, cautiously optimistic

Based on the announcement, blog entry, and FAQ, I was hopeful but pessimistic. As a result of the contradictory and confusing information coming from a variety of BioWare-related sources, my pessimism has been reduced, but my confusion is much greater. This may sound like a good trade, but if it gets too confusing, I may be tempted to actually just write the whole thing off.

So, for now, I'll wait.

Cautiously optimistic, then a little afraid, then depressed by the endings as it is, then hopeful that they really can be listening to us, and then repeat the pattern.

I’m a pessimist by nature but I’m interested in seeing the final product. Fortunately a couple of things are leaning me to a more optimistic position. The ending is so vague and ambiguous that they have a lots of room to take liberty without having to claim compromise towards their um… initial vision. They have tons of Mass Effect branded products coming in the future, so, they’re going to want to recapture as many fans to consume such products. Plus, I want to believe Bioware in general cares about their product and wishes to have their work viewed in a positive light opposed to it’s current standing with many fans.

I am still going to be wearing a cup to reduce the impact of another sack attack if it comes.

Very pessimistic.

Don't get me wrong, I was one of those guys who played all bioware games from back in the day, talking Baldurs Gate and Neverwinter Nights here.

I used to say, Bioware makes the best roleplaying games, hands down. Used to.

- Wasn't too happy with how they went about Dragon Age 2, as I loved Dragon Age 1.
- Loved all the Mass Effect games, but those endings . . . gutted how they are still saying "we were surprised with people's reaction to the endings". And I'm no cry baby, my main character died at the end of Dragon Age 1, and I LOVED that epic story. Can't say the same about *stones fall* and everyone died or is missing, or Dragon Age 2 gameplay in general.
- SWToR patch 1.2 came out, and it brings stuff such as the so hyped about Legacy that has nothing really useful gameplaywise.
They give us High res graphics that were already there in the beta but didnt make it to launch due to a faulty engine, said by the developers themselves.
RANKED Warzones! no wait, they are not in yet! (more false advertising).
New Warzone that takes ages to get into, cause I cant pick to play that particular one, have to wait for it to randomly pop up, and the queue times are awful.
Can't check out the new instances and raids cause I still cant bring myself to spam a general chat for 30 mins to get a group.
New dailies might be cool, but after Dragon Age and Mass Effect, if my story with my companions doesnt evolve at all, and was only about giving gifts to get a bit more time to chat with them on the ship, then its not good enough for me.

I was one of Bioware's biggest advocates, but now I'm so pessimist to the point of saying, I'll have to see what comes next, but I'm surely not gonna buy their next game (doesn't mean I won't try it, only means I will not buy it). What can they do to make it right? if they even care, start with this extended cut actually showing the old BIOWARE spirit is still there, and we'll go from there.
