They didnt know there would be such a demand for it? Really? Come on if you have at least tried to listen to the fans even before the release of the game you would KNOW for 100%.
This just makes me angry, really angry. Is it another excuse or did they really think that the horrible horrible mess thet  created would go down well with fans?
I hope the extended cut is good otherwise if they create another abomination...
I just dont want to imagine what will happen. But it would be bad, very bad move.

Whats with the ever increasing time delay? Are people on separate ME fields or something?

Which makes me even more angry. And disappointed. Because if its true then they have stopped listening to the fans not just for the last couple of months but for at least a year or more. Part of me does not want to believe that, but the cynic in me does and at the moment cynic is winning.
I understand that EA corrupts companies but in just a few years? From one of the best to complete flop? Sad, angry and disappointed, that is what I have.
And on this bombshell I am going to sleep.

I wouldn't worry about the "not knowing anyone would care" thing. IMHO more PR spin. They knew better but [IMHO] something kept them from doing better.

YMMV

Not doing what you want us to do, and not agreeing with our decisions, does not mean we have stopped listening. It is possible to completely disagree with you while still taking your feedback into account.

If you're just learning and are mad about this now then you're REALLY going to hate the PAX panel videos on youtube.

There wasn't a huge demand for the Extended Cut Ending....until we played ME3 and realized how much a pile of **** the ending was. If they had done it right in the first place, there would have been ZERO demand for it.

Mr Woo, I am curious about this statement. Could you illustrate it with some real-life example, how you do this?
Thanks in advance.

I have a question: Did the entire ME team support the endings? Cause there has got to have been some that didn't like it or felt uneasy with it.

So If person A asks person B to perform a task, and person B not only refuses, but also practically fail to acknowledge person A's request... That's listening according to the aforementioned logic?

Stanley,

It would make these forums a lot happier if someone from BioWare would come out and talk to the fans about which concerns they are going to address, which concerns they're not going to address, and why. Blanket statements like this - "we're listening, but we're not going to tell you what we're hearing or what we're going to do about it" - will only serve to enflame the irritated fanbase more.

This is a fanbase that is starved for even scraps of information, that should be clear by how we gobble up scraps of heresay like a starving terrier snaps up food - and by how Patrick Weekes' informal interview basically sedated most of the fanbase for a couple days.

Yeah, they didn't know the fans wanted a complete ending that makes sense...

Yeah I want to know the answer to this too! Because from what I heard the ending was the work of two men. My favorite writers of the team weren't even involved or had a say. Is that true?

True. But in that case you would say: I know there is such demand but we decided to ignore it anyway (maybe to satisfied even greater demands).

"Clarity and closure" is only what a small group of people asked for. That is hardly listening to the feedback when there are even bigger glaring problems staring the developers in the face (Both narratively and thematically).

But saying that you didn't know what your customers thought??

That isn't the same thing.

I've reserved making heated remarks since the whole issue started, but I admit I'll be really disappointed if BioWare completely disagree with some of the basic problems that a vast number of people have with the ending. This isn't an issue that one or two people have, and I'm not even going to pretend that there isn't a lot of people out there who like the ending (which I have no problem with). But I know a few dozen people, all of them friends and co-workers and a couple bare aquaintences, and none of them like the ending. And the reasoning is pretty universal: it feels rushed and out of place, and the writing isn't up to the same standard as the rest of the entire trilogy. If BioWare disagree with this, as an artist that kind of rankles me. If I made something that was ill-received by a large number (even if it wasn't universal) I'd be open to acknowledging that there was something wrong with my work.

People that don't have jobs wont be able to understand you here. If you have a job you'll know this is possible and makes sense.
