Kaidan disappears on the Normandy?

I recently started my second playthrough (imported male Shep) and I invited Kaidan to join me aboard the Normandy.

Problem is that I can never find him in the Observation room where he usually hangs out. I was able to have an initial conversation with him about his parents whereabouts and well-being, and as I've progressed through the campaign, I can't find him after scouring the entire ship.

Last night I completed Priority: Rannoch Reaper Base and he playing poker with James, but after the Priority: Thessia mission he has disappeared again!

One time I even had Traynor tell me that Kaidan wanted to speak to me, and I couldn't find him, is this a bug/glitch?
This happened in my first playthrough as well (femShep LI).

Has anybody else experienced this with Kaidan (or Ashley, I've yet to play through with her as the VS)?

When he wants to talk to you he is in the crew quarters by the room he usually hangs out in.

After Thessia he is down talking with Engineer Adams.

ah ok, thanks! I guess I missed him in the crew quarters, cause I usually scour the ship after every mission to see what the crew have to say.
Need to open my eyes more, thanks!

Protip: Open up the map and cycle through the Normandy's decks. It will tell you where exactly each NPC is.

This. On my first playthrough I missed some conversations with squadmates/crew because I couldn't find them. Just keep checking the map and you will immediately know where did they go. Garrus, Kaidan, Vega, Javik move alot around the ship.
