So I've been wanting to play melee drell, Thane style for a long time now. (didn't managed to unlock drellguard till end of beta) and recently also wanted to play drell adept. I don't have drell or resurgence characters, but judging from the forum, there seem to be absolutely no reason to play drell.
Concepts:
Melee monsters(reave/charge+racial bonus)- outshone by batarian & krogans having melee bonus and tons more survivability to use it properly.
Ultimate secondary biotic(reave)- Outshone by Justicar having reave as well as biotic sphere.
Thoughts? Other races seem to fill a niche, but drells seem to be the only one that cannot effectively use their racial bonuses.
So Drells are now officially the most obsolete race in the game?

I have to say Drell Adept is probably my personal favorite class.
Krogan/Batarian definitely have melee over the Drell (I have never tried it for melee (not my style)).
Why the Drell can be seen as better than the Asari (not knocking on biotic sphere just saying it doesnt obselete). Cluster Grenade is amazing, much higher movement speed, and has a higher weapon starting encumbrance.

Grenades are bad on gold since they are nigh impossible to refill.
Drell has enough speed that it can hit 2-3 weapon boxes between rounds depending on the map. Plus not a lot of people use the ammo consumables. I have been doing gold, and gold speed runs for some time, and I use a drell adept most of the time.
