I'm no computer programmer or anything like that so I have no clue how this sort of thing works. But BioWare says they can't give PS3 users the weekend promo packs or the BF3 kit, yet they were able to give me the KoA armor and charkam launcher. Isn't that sort of the same thing, they tracked me as playing the KoA demo and then were able to send these items to me in game in ME3. So what's the difference that allows us to be tracked to receive the KoA goodies but not the other stuff?
question about the whole "limitation" excuse

KoA saved either an act.dat or an edat file on your PS3 which was/is your activation for the KoA content in ME3. Not sure how its done for BF3. There are actually a few other ways the KoA bit could have been handled (save data in dev/hdd0/home etc or in dev/hdd0/game/ etc GD Utility) but the easiest would be an act/edat. But anyhoo..
