Mass Effect was first an Xbox 360 game before anything else .. ME1 never got on the PS3 and it was imported to the PC 6 months later .. half a year.

The ME series was a console series from the start.

ps. The OP seems to have a trackrecord for rather moronic threads. IIRC, I m also pretty sure this isn't the first 'smurt' threads he put up.

Quoted because repetition seems necessary - OP didn't even read own quote. "SELL-IN" = sold to retailers, not purchased by consumers.

The OP should change the misleading title. Shipping to retailers and selling to consumers are competently two different things.

80k people displeased with an ending is a huge figure if the ammount of games sold is 2M (or likely even less).

Do they add Origin and PSN Digital Downloads to these figures?

You're most definitely delusional, considering Mass Effect 1 was PORTED to the PC MONTHS after the 360 version was released.

Also, PC ALWAYS sells less than the 360 on majority of AAA titles... by a SIGNIFICANT amount. Even Battlefield 3, an entry for a quintessentially PC franchise, the 360 sales had the PC sales beat by a healthy amount.

See I didn't actually know that.

So be nice to people then, and don't call them out as being 'delusional.' ;p

Actually I wasn't the one that did that :D

To point the finger it was Razor150. :crying: Defend me BSN he's being mean to me

So, wait a minute.

According to Microsoft, ME3 sold 943,000 units on XBOX360 for the month of March. This is compared to vgchartz' estimate of 1.42 million. And people wondered why everyone was saying "don't trust vgchartz?"

lol?

Haha, oh wow.

You are saying everyone who hasn't voted their opinion on the ending automatically like the ending? You realize how foolish this assumption is?

You are defending a troll that is as plain as the light of day. But you present no real facts. Desperation?

Do you understand the concept of polling? Presidential election polls are voted on by only a few thousand people. But those election polls are within the 5% accuracy range. You don't need to poll everyone to see the majority opinion. That's not how polling works or has ever been intended to work.

80,000 people polled is MORE than enough to see the majority opinion. We have evidence in our polls here. Your source is.... an imaginary poll? Hmmm... Even data that is not 100% accurate is better than imaginary data.

Looks like an OVERWHELMING MAJORITY loves the ending.

Wrong. Polling with a demo shift that high shows a hell of lot more than 80,000 hate the ending, else BW wouldn't be doing anything at all to address it.

Learn highschool level statistics or common sense then come again. Gotta love how the pro-enders can't produce a sound argument about anything.

no. NPD is for NORTH AMERICA only.

Vg Chartz was off, but 'only' by about 300k.

Either way, VGChartz is full of crap.

Heres something funny, both Gamestop stores in my area are no longer taking ME3 trade ins. If that doesn't speak volumes I don't know what will.

vgchartz' "USA" tab for XBOX360 sales totals 1,420,037 for March, so that's still 475k+ over the mark.

Either way, fixed my last post.

Update:[/b] Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg reportsthat Mass Effect 3 sold 943,000 units on Xbox 360, outselling the PlayStation 3 version 4 to 1.

Wait wait wait...

Mass Effect sold less than a mil on the 360 for the first month. And Microsoft revealing those stats was just to prove that they outsold PS3 4 to 1. sooo.... it's around 1.25-1.3ish million for consoles? PC at best probably sold around as many copies as PS3... so that's actually 1.5 ~1.6 mil for the first month.

I am sorry, how are we arriving at 4 million?

The numbers you comment on are sold FROM retailers like BestBuy or Game Stop. The numbers OP is trying to use to make his point are the numbers shipped TO retailers, or in otherwords what they ESTIMATED the demand might call for, your reference numbers are what the demand actually is 25-30% btw, is a HORRIFICALLY BAD sales rate.

I realize the difference between copies shipped and copies sold.

The OP in no way recognizes the difference between the two. So I initially assumed otherwise.

And IGN seems to be doing the same when quoting the NPD analyst. There's no way the NPD analyst would say something THAT assinine, especially considering it's THEIR numbers that indicate otherwise.

Surely. I was just answering your question as to how that number came about, specificaly; it's beause someone is talking about something they don't understand and trying to claim horrible information as good news.

Yeah, the OP's ignorance is mind-boggling to me.

And lol, I am pretty sure he's a hardcore 'anti-ender' too, aka mr. billboards.

"ME3 have been sold-in to retailers (though sold-through numbers to consumers have yet to be announced)."

This looks like retailers have a bunch of copies thinking it would be a hug hit. It doesn't mean those retailers have sold those copies.

I wonder what they do with all those extra copies lying around? Do they build forts out of them in the break room? That's what I'd do.

I'd stack them ten foot high amongst a pile of wood and set the whole thing on fire by lighting a minature replica of the Normandy and throwing it at the mound as a monument to all their sins (LOL HALO REFERENCE HIGH FIVE)

More like 3.25 million, also this is good. The more people who play the game, the more people to just us in hating the ending. :)

They will try and find a price point to off load the stock that doesn't hurt profits. More likely this waiting for a high customer reviewed DLC. I really doubt the retailers are going to order that many units again from EA/Bioware anytime soon.

Why do people think that if they don't complain about the ending of the game they didn't like it?  It cuts both ways.  There are people who are sitting in silent despair about the endings and those sitting in silent delight about the endings.
