Why do people think that if they don't complain about the ending of the game they didn't like it?  It cuts both ways.  There are people who are sitting in silent despair about the endings and those sitting in silent delight about the endings.

I'll take existing data over non-existing data any day. Even if it's not entirely accurate, it still says a lot.

Pretty much and then there is the fact that the game is so riddled with bugs and it's still an alpha stage game much like DA2 was. This was only because of the marketing. If the marketing hadn't been there the game would have flopped.

I agree which is why I'm so annoyed when people assume that everyone who hasn't spoken up or voted on a poll or wrote a thread hates the endings.  We can't be sure so there's no reason to consider that information either way.

Alpha stage? What?

ME3 and DA2 are certainly no where near alpha stage.

Even if ME3 had problems, and DA2 was all problems, neither game was in alpha, not even close.

The problem is with video games you can't try it before you buy it like with most things you buy. Go to buy a new bra, you can try it on. Need a new tv, you can see if it works in store. If the tv doesn't work when you get home and set it up, you can return it for either a new one or a full refund. Video games? You can't return it to certain retailers for a full refund if you hated it. You are out the full 60 or 80 dollars you spent on it if you return it opened.

So right now data says that 60k plus people hate the ending of the game. Those who aren't posting about it, those who are silent could go either way. However existent data suggests that the majority of the people speaking are those who hate the ending of the game. This is with existing data.

Look at ME3. Texture popping issues, that were non existent in ME2. Lag/Load issues that were not present in ME2. Game freezing issues that were barely present in ME2. Auto-Dialogue present in both RPG and Story Mode when not supposed to be there. NOT present in ME2 or ME1.

This game is an alpha or early beta version to me because of how badly the game is. It wasn't even optimized properly. There was one or two devs who stated that there were bugs that were coded in that they knew about but never fixed. Frankly this game should not have been shipped in this state.

I agree that ME3 had some serious problems that needed to be fixed before shipping, but calling it an alpha is just... not right.

Maybe beta would be a more apt description for ME3, but not alpha, no way/

The OP is right though. The vocal minority in this case needs to drop it since ME has sold remarkably well.

http://games.ign.com.../1222926p1.html

4 million copies sold. 2 million more then ME2.

Pre-Enders WIN!!!!!!!!!

MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I wonder what they do with all those extra copies lying around? Do they build forts out of them in the break room? That's what I'd do.

I'd much rather build card towers out of boxes. Then look at them collapse... when they collapse... if they collapse.

Here's hoping they don't collapse at all, actually.

Never had texture popping issues or lag/load.  But I was on Xbox so your mileage may very.  Auto-Dialogue is intentionaly (unfortunately) Action mode only effected decision making.

Alpha or Early Beta is really harsh and as a guy who has worked on two independent games waaaayyyy back when and is working on a RAGS game himself right now, you're definition of Alpha is entirely too broad.

Go to the menu system and look at Your shep in whatever off duty clothing they are in to check their level up stats there is your texture popping issues. Also you can view that at the workbench on the Normandy while outside of your armor your clothing texture pops in there too.

I'm on a 360 slim so the texture popping issue is there. The lag/load issue that happens a lot during cutscenes when people talk which causes the lip syncing issues that have been reported that I have also experienced.

Auto-Dialogue was only supposed to be in the Action mode but it's in both RPG and Story mode which as we were told through interviews, forum posts, blog statements and Bioware Pulse was not supposed to be.

If you go into Shepard's armor locker where you choose what armor you want there is lag/loading issues up the wazoo. Armor doesn't load for minutes on end or at all. Same goes for off duty clothing when switching to different outfits.

Broad as my description of ME3 being an alpha or beta version may be the game is full of bugs and issues that should not have been in there.

I see NPD's for NA showing it sold 1.14 million PC/XBOX/P3 for March. Where did 4 mil come from???? Europe was supposed to push it close to 2mil. Japan...well yeah.

I will re check but 4 mil is WAY unlikely

1.18 million in NA

Take Europe and Canada and Japan it is slightly over two.

we'll bang okay?

Canada is part of NA, just FYI.

I'm on a 360 Slim and I will say... I have not *noticed* the texture pop up issues. That's not to say that I'm not having them, just in my playthroughs I hadn't seen them as you described. At least, overall it isn't as bad as they were in ME1, but it is worrysome if they're like how you say they are.

In shooter mode do you make any choices at all? I'd gotten the impression that it was completely on rails conversation while for some reason you had cut down ones in RPG. But the amount its stripped down is definitely frustrating, although I just dealt with it, noticing there were subtle changes to the conversation in general until the next point depending on what I chose.

Now the armor locker, that is one thing that really gets my goat so to speak, since I've sat there for five minutes at a time waiting for it to load so I could actually see how the pieces look, and eventually give up.

Okay we are working on a different definition of texture popping.  I mean more the ME1 version where the low res comes in and then the higher res pops in.

I'm on a 360 slim so the texture popping issue is there. The lag/load issue that happens a lot during cutscenes when people talk which causes the lip syncing issues that have been reported that I have also experienced.

That may be true, I never noticed the same lip-synching issues others have reported.

Auto-Dialogue was only supposed to be in the Action mode but it's in both RPG and Story mode which as we were told through interviews, forum posts, blog statements and Bioware Pulse was not supposed to be.

Have you played in Action Mode yet?  Trust me, you and what Bioware said were working on different definitions of "auto-dialouge"

If you go into Shepard's armor locker where you choose what armor you want there is lag/loading issues up the wazoo. Armor doesn't load for minutes on end or at all. Same goes for off duty clothing when switching to different outfits.

Yes that I experienced, and was very annoying.  I had forgotten about it.

There are bugs and issues.  Welcome to the "Cloud Age" as much as I hate it, it's now standard practice to release games with bugs and issues and use your consumer as a sort of a Gamma test.  It's horrible, screw over people without good internet capabilites, but it's been standard practice since "Windows Updates"

So, Bioware should be commended, given these numbers: they are really doing the 'Extended Cut' as a favor to the fans. They aren't sweating their sales numbers and the game has 75+ perfect scores. On paper that is the recipe for tons of GOTY awards come the end of the year. They, therefore, aren't releasing the 'Extended Cut' as a way to increase sales or bolster support for the game. The game is set to do well- and if the adage "any publicity is good publicity" is true, then the ending controversy might actually be helping to sell games. So, Bioware could just sit on their hands, but instead they are releasing the 'Extended Cut'. A very classy move, I'd say.

This.

They misrepresented the product right up until release, so naturally folks were hyped and purchased.
