Fact: you can level up characters solely with bronze runs, possibly ones you sucked at, and then promote them, rinse and repeat. this would take a long time but it would still work. You also could buy a lot of packs with character cards with real money and level up solely on those. So in summary the n7 score does not indicate skill or experience. It is a useless trivial stat.

NOW if we had a stat that said how many successful gold and silver extractions you have complete that might be a different story.

Can't believe I just played with a N7 2000 or so.

He was called PATRIOT ACT 2. He was awful.

There was also this person named D4rk50ul. Had no idea that he was using cloak and firing a charged gun, and kept going out of cloak. Not to mention the fact that he completely dismissed objectives and went down in the process. Never revived him, but I'm sure he sent someone a message regarding that, calling us bad players. I'll revive someone once or twice, but not that many times. Had a high N7 level, too. Can't remember what it was but considering that he was using X guns..I just can't believe it. Surely he modded.

Rarely happens though that huge N7 levels means that they're bad. Most of the time they're good.

Glad to see you rush to the forums dL x Game to defend your boosting by calling out my friend and I with complete lies.  The people I play with earned their ranks and anyone who plays with us can recognize it, sorry the only thing you know how to do is hide behind a wall in firebase white and ruin peoples games.

Wait a minute.

Are you D4rk50ul?

Yeah how did you ever figure that one out? :)

I don't play infiltrator class but if you are looking for gold matches random/reaper or random/random and have a Mic it's all we play.

P.S. Identifying yourself on the forums after modding and ruining a game isn't the best idea.  Good job!

I've seen N7 640 doing nothing but sticking to cover and waiting the end to farm experience points.
I've Seen N7 15 beeing better than me.

Beeing more "experienced" With a number doesn't mean you're better than others. It just says that you played long enough to promote a great number of characters (and like to restart from level 1 for : NOTHING than the pleasure to get 10 war assets points ! /o/ ) I got N7 270. I promoted some classes just to see. Now I play only for fun with all my characters level 20. I play only silver mod of course because I don't have friends for playing gold and I do'nt want to try with unknown. In silver I know I can handle some of the worstest suituations on my own.

I don't put my trust only on a number.

If a group sounds good in silver and make a great teamwork then maybe i'll try gold with them. But I'll never get directlly on gold with anyone without seeing what they're made of.

That's my opinion. N7 Number doesn't impact my trust.

But I must say that a person with more points is generaly a good player.

Higher N7 rating doesn't mean you played more. Someone may have never ever promoted. They may also only play 1 class all the time. Just an FYI.

Case and point is it still means nothing.

N7 rating is just a measure of how much time a person has spent in multiplayer matches at best.
If he does not promote characters, even that is not true.
It does not tell you anything about how that person has spent all that precious time and if he is a decent player. He could just have played on Bronze the whole damn time.

So, the character and equipment he brings is a much better figure of merit to tell, if he really knows what he is doing. Would be nice to have access to the person`s accomplishments or at least see how much Bronze/Silver/Gold challenges he has won.
For example, an level 15 human Sentinel with a Carnifex and the Unwavering accomplishment will alway be a very welcome team mate.

This is my situation. I have N7 54 and I am always topping the Gold charts, rarely going down and always helping others back on their feet.

It is low because I have never promoted (What in the world is the point?) and I only play 2 classes. Infiltrator and Vanguard.

So really, to me, N7 ranking means absolutely nothing.

I finish 1st over 90% of the time on Gold and my N7 is 270. You want to know why it isn't higher? Because there is no point in starting over my classes from scratch when I'm perfectly happy with the way I leveled them.

Shouldn't N7 above 150 or so be taken as a warning sign? I mean, why is this person obsessed with resetting his level all the time? What good does all these level 1-5 games bring to a gold run where everyone are level 20?

To me the only relevant indication of a players understanding of the game is to examine their load out. And the only way to determine if they are dedicated to winning the game is to examine their equipment.

Oh right, there _is_ one decent use for N7. You can spot unintelligent players by inverse application of N7. Anyone ****ing about N7 in the lobby is very likely not smart enough to find his own behind without a map, and thus will most likely not contribute anything meaningful to the game. Ensue kickage.

People with insane n7 are likely to suck because they mostly play bronze and silver mechanically to promote over and over again

It means nothing. You get nothing for it save for help completing a single achievement. I've promoted one character from each class and then two others for Raptor... and that is all I'll promote unless they have another event for it. I see no reason to play as a level 1-19 just so children won't kick me from a game. Now, if you also got some credits for promoting... then I would.

N7 rating can give a general clue, but it's far from comprehensive. My N7 is around 155 I think, but I was playing a silver with three N7 500+ randoms and they were all going down every 2 minutes. It was like a Shakespearean farce!

My N7 is fairly low as I don't play fanatically: most of the time I'm quite good, but sometimes I'm shocked at my rubbishness.

Equipment is useless unless you're doing a gold run. If you need armor/ammo/shield equipment for any enemy, any map, on silver... then you suck (not you specifically).

My N7 is above 500, my Carnifex is X and i like only play in Bronze because i like it easy.

So if i were to join a Gold match and it was you, you would think i am ok but soon during the match, you guys would be crying lol

Do not trust N7 rating. Really means nothing.

Agreed. I like my team mates on gold to be equppied. Not so much because it boosts their performance, but bacause if they put on full equpiment they are more likely to actually stay a full game :?

My n7 is 86 and yet i generally come 2nd or top score in gold matches most of the time normally against players with a much higher score then me.
And in most games i seem to find the higher the person is scored the more often they get killed for stupid reasons couse they've boosted a char to 20 never played it again and made a new one straight away and so have learnt nothing about the game where ive got 2-3 classes at 20 that im happy with and havnt really touched any others since so i know how to use them and what load out to take to maximise them.

Like my salarian infiltrator carries mantis x and carnifex I because there both light both good for headshots and both good at range.
Where ive met people level 200 - 300 playing the same char carrying a widow and a shotgun or assault rifle who have horrible aim and take so long to recharge ability's that they need 3-4 shots to kill a rocket trooper that i can put down with 1 drain and a carni or mantis to the head.

N7 means nexto nothing in this game when so many people mass level just to try and look good.

1. Experience matters. Experience dictates that n7 clearly doesn't hold up as a marker for skill when so many high level n7s are useless.

2. The ONLY way to judge a player accurately is to see them perform. Even if using an easy to spam power class, you can tell the difference between the good and not so good with the tactics and efficiency (or lack of) on display.

3. 'A lot' is not one word.

I just find out that most of <200 players (not EVERYONE!)resist promoting characters becouse they using them for farming on gold(credit glitch). They have all weapons X (even 2 days after addon they had Geth SMG X, Kishock X plus new characters).

I disagree with OP. High N7 rating doesn't necessarily mean higher experienced player. For example, two days ago I was playing with my friend when a guy with N7 rating over 2200 joined. We were like "wow, with this one it should be piece of cake" but nah, he was dying all the time and in the end, he ended up on the last position with really small point count.
On the other hand, we played once with a guy who had N7 rating around 150 and he was really good.

So it's true that N7 rating means only one thing - the more free time a player has, the higher N7 rating he manages to get. But it has nothing to do with skill.

I keep seeing people mention the Carnifex... guess I'll have to try it out (if I even have it, I'm not sure). I pretty much stick to using the Salarian Infiltrator with a Mantis X and a Phalanx IX (can't seem to get the X of the Phalanx!!!!!). With those two leveled up that high I have a +112% on my power recharge and it times out almost perfectly to be able to go invisible for every shot of the Mantis, giving me an extra 40% damage. But the Mantis isn't great against armor unless I can pull off a headshot, so I use the Phalanx against Brutes/Atlas/Primes.

I recently got the Black Widow and I like it too... but I only have a level 1 so the weight is still pretty high. I don't really need the pistol with it, but the weight/recharge is still high enough to throw a wrench into my usual style. Like to try the Valiant too, don't have it yet.
