I picture Jennifer Hale everytime I think of default femshep.

I find Hale attractive for some reason.

Nothing to be ashamed of. Hale is attractive to some point, but I think she is (and looks) too old to be Commander Shepard in the flesh. But I am fine with it, that she is Shepard in the voice.

My Shepard goes more for a pink-haired Katee Sackhoff - I personally think that's more suitable for an ex-dead Alliance Marine Spectre.

I disagree, maleshep Sheploo looks to be in his late 30's early 40's ,  why shouldn't femshep be around that age?

Shepard IS in his/her early 30s (we have a birthdate given) in a time where people age only half as fast reaching maturity (150 years lifespan for humans). Jennifer Hale is 40. Transferred to the ME-universe it would make her around 70 years old ;)

Default in ME1 looked pretty bad. The face had no substance, the neck was too long, and she just didn't command presence properly. It felt like watching a mousy girl try to act tough, there was a disconnect for me.

Default in ME3 looked fine except the hairstyle. That hair style is like from the 50's; the conservative housewife look. She just isn't intimidating with that hairstyle, again another disconnect.

She kinda freaks me out, if I'm being completely honest. She reminds me of Alfred E. Neuman.

I actually found her kinda cute. After googleing the bolded part, I can safely say you have ruined default FemShep for me forever though, lol :P

I don't find any human characters attractive. Bioware is stuck in the Uncanny Valley.

I prefer the in game default to the marketing art. The hero of the galaxy should not look like she just stepped out of a Miss Teen USA pageant. I like the fact that there's something now, and I've got one of those 6' wall hangings of her, but she looks like she should be worrying about her midterms, not the fate of the galaxy.

That said, the in game default is ok, but not great. I wish the customized ones has better textures though. They look so plastic next to the default. My favorite is the one they did for the femshep version of the Take Earth Back trailer. That's what I would love to see in the game.

I never would have guessed 40. She looks younger than that to me. Plus from what I've heard in interviews, she's certainly active enough to be Shepard. Mountian climbing, rescuing horses from forest fires - pretty impressive stuff. :)

EDIT
I've actually thought about trying my hand at sketching her as Shepard. I think she fits.

Personaly I wouldn't say either male or female shepards are perfect.. But then again I never demand it.

I do customize my Shepards regardless or genders, only made one femshep though.

I doubt im trying ot make them look atractive, just, something I can accept seeing throughout the game.

When I created my renegade shepard (male) I gave him that ever angry look, like he was looking for a reporter to punch or an innocent bystander to terrorize. My life is hell and you won't have it any better!!

Hmmm, I prefer my own custom made Shep. The default one in ME3 has a monkey face to be honest! Don't know why they didn't went with the Boxart Femshep...that one I liked and her face proportions weren't that weird! But that is just my humble opinion.....taste differs I heard!

Not a fan, she doesn't look like a real person, she looks plastic. She kind of reminds me of tomb raider, back when she was on the PS2.

I have played the mass effect games (all titles) about 20 times total. Of those 3 were male shep plays with the default face. (1 ME1 default character first time plaything, 1 ME2 tali romance play though, and 1 ME3 tali romance play though) All other plays has been with a custom femshep face. I had some hopes for a "new player experience" with a ME3 default femshep after the trailer but I just did not connect to her, They did not do a good job of doing a in game version of that face.

I like freckles on a women and wish I could get them on my ME2 import face, Its kinda sad, I find the default femshep face kinda weird,

it's not a question of her being attractive or not. In ME and ME2 she was kind of realistic. The ME3 default si too cartoonish. Almost too close on being superdeformed and caricatural. The jaw is the main culprit, in my opinion, but not the only comlprit.

In the arworks though (wallpapers and such) her face is very good, even if a little too jung.

ME3 default Femshep is quite beautyful to me, if the lighting is right though. If not, she looks like the missing link between our "monkey" ancestors and humans today.

No way, no how.
I looked at it and laughed...even my Shep looks better than that and that is saying something.  Posted Image

That does look pretty good, but looks like ME2 to me ... that's where the faces looked best in my opinion.

My female Shepard is based pretty closely on the default ME1 female Shepard. The default ME3 female Shepard? I don't know if it was the lighting or what but I was actually horrified the first time I saw her in the character creator.

I dig default femshep from ME3.
I'm giving the franchise a femshep spin this time around (always played male Shep) and covering all untouched bases.

Attractive? No. Is it a problem? No. Manshep is completely unattractive, so why would Femshep be any different?

Default ME1/ME2 are pretty ugly imo.
Default ME3 needs less make up but is much more attractive.
