Not even close. Plenty of other games coming out this year will crush the slightly disappointing ME3

Agreed.  Or Guild Wars 2, if that comes out this year (?).

At any rate, I enjoyed many parts of ME3.  But its lack of polish is really starting to show, especially with the bangup job the internet community has done in exposing its faults.  And I'm not just talking about the ending or lack of choices/branching.  The combat isn't well balanced.  How the current weight system made it past testing is a mystery.

Hell no. Not with the myriad of getter built, better envisioned, better conveyed titles that are being released. ME3's nomination will be because of ME1 and ME2, that's all.

It will get a lot of first place votes, but ultimately fall short due to the controversy.

Right now on Metacritic it's sitting at a 93, which is great, but you have to think with all the releases this year some one will top it.

Just off the top of my head I think if GTA 5 comes out this year, it easily will get the better of ME3. Max Payne 3 also has a shot from what I've seen of it (remember too the original Max Payne won a ton of awards).

The truth is that, ending aside, while ME3 was a great game it was basically SET UP to be. Basically it was a layup in terms of big releases, and from what Bioware is capable of. When you look at it solely in terms of expectations it was a  pretty underwhelming (by the numbers effort) in many respects.

A great game, a classic even, if looked at IN ISOLATION. However when taking into account the big picture, it falls short of the vision set by the first two.

You add to that the ending, and I think it will fall short.

I would say yes, if it was not for the final mission and ending. If bioware's extended cut somehow fixes that and it turns out to be utterly fantastic, then maybe.

Tough one in RPGs. most likely Diablo 3 will win... no one can beat Diablo except Baldur's Gate back in the day.. poor Icewind Dale hahaha

Fix'd. With the way Capcom is doing things I am surprised it didn't get worst company. They are even worse with their dlc and franchise running than any other company out there. Also Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City was a joke and if it has any sway with the direction the franchise is going like one of head dudes said about Resident Evil than I fear for the franchise. They want to cut all ties with their survival horror and make it more about ACTION!! Where is Bioshock on this list or Borderlands 2?

Its a port from last year so no it won't. It may get mentioned but won't be winning anything big.

Edit: At least I don't think it will since it wouldn't be really fair for other titles out there.

Witcher already had its fill last year. A re-release is not going to make people treat it like a new game.
