No. If it was, EA would't be voted the worst company in USA.

And the year has barely actually started.  Let's see...there's like 6 more months before the end of the year.  ME3 has been out for 2?  More of the blind, pre-emptive, fanboy type of GOTY vote going on around these parts for some (not you...some)...except for the ONE person who has the gall to declare that Halo 4 WILL be GOTY even though it doesn't get released for months!  Fanboys.  What can ya do?

Just saying that it is more fun than ME3. :P

Halo 4 will get GOTY.

No.  Only in a very limited sense.  Halo 4 is xbox ONLY.  A true GOTY is going to be multi-platform with a MUCH bigger player audience.

An xbox GOTY is not as big a deal as a GOTY on multiplatform.

Uncharted still won GOTY and that's a ps3 only game...

Because it is a good game, the platform issue meant nothing.

Was it?  Who knows it is other than a small population of PS3ers?  No one else does and no one is going to buy some console JUST to play this game or that game.  GOTY is useless except as a packaging gimmick (meaning all available content is in the one package).  Beyond that, good game, bad game...meh.

To say that only a small population of PS3 owners know about Uncharted is a little strange. You have no evidence to back up such a claim.

They were actually voted the worst company in the USA? For what reasons and by who?

Personally the only game I can really see challenging Mass Effect 3 for game of the year is GTA V if it even comes out this year.  No matter how poor the final stage of the game is.

- Just remembered about the last of us it could be a decent game, but has no release date yet.

More than 250,000 votes, that was the result. Earned.

If GTAV even comes out this year and is worse than this, I'll eat my socks.

Perhaps I should stream it for $5 per view. Think of the possibilities!

A stream could work, I doubt it'll be needed though. As much as I hate GTA IV even that is better than Mass Effect 3. The chances of GTA V being worse is slim.

I don't think it's going to happen now. It's pretty much a given GTA V will be GOTY... mostly because it's GTA and will probably sell like 6+ million copies within the first month. Maybe even more. GTA is a pretty long established series and has a very strong following nowadays. It'd really have to suck for it to not sell well.

ME3 should have been GOTY of the material though. Unfortunately the game's current state is pretty abysmal. There's several bugged sidequests for starters. Sure ME1 had that incomplete plot with Banes and ME2 had like a single mission update issue, but that was it. Of course it's hard to tell the status of a mission in ME3 because the journal is all but useless. I really don't know how they screwed that up after ME1 and ME2. Then there's the lack of actual conversation which is like suppose to the primary appeal of the games. And then there's several mission trigger issues that will force you to restart the entire damn mission. And the exorcist head glitches too. Sadly I could keep on going but I'll stop here for the sake of my sanity.

But really it's like with ME3 no one bothered to make sure the cinematic were being done properly. Not to mention there's a lot of character warping or objects just vanishing. There just should not be this many conversation glitches especially when there is less then it's predecessors. I dunno what happened with ME3. Either too many key Developers left and the current team is lacking the expertise it needs or the Developers were really pressed for time. Probably a little of both. But it's very clear releasing ME3 even in March was a mistake. I was very worried about the intial Fall 2011 release and rightly so I think. Honestly ME3 shouldn't have been released until Fall 2012. Could have maybe avoided the whole issue with the Prothean DLC and had something more sensible in it's place like "Retake Omega" or a "Mako DLC".  Heck we may have been able to avoid the whole ending fiasco entirely. Unfortunately the powers that be are too short sighted to understand the importance of quality in a game such as this.

Granted I'm aware that nearly every game ever released has some content inevitably removed. But as Shepard says: "You've sacrificed too much." Whether you're indifferent or bitter over the ending the simple truth is most people do not find ME3's ending  really satisfying. And most sane people have moved on and will never play ME3 again. Which is the real tradegy here. They will never know any different. Only a fraction of the fanbase that's still playing the game will even bother with such post-release DLC.   Even if the EC makes the ending exponentially better it will be too late. It was a foolish to rely on DLC to finish the story of the game. This was acceptable to some extent with ME2 as it's the middle chapter. But ME3 was suppose to be the end. Nobody wanted a TO BE CONTINUED...

EA can nudge the media all they want to put a positive spin on the game. But even many of these so-called game reviewers aren't so foolish as to nominate ME3 GOTY simply because of the flak they will get. GTA V will be the safe choice. Granted I'm sure ME3 will be a GOTY canidate so as to placate EA. But it will not be GOTY. Unless somehow every single player replays the end of ME3 and changes their opinon of the game. Though this is assuming the EC will be any good to begin with and that people will like it. Honestly don't even know why I bother here. Too many rabid fans incapable of being objective. And then Bioware itself which can't faciltiate any sort of meaningful communication. Not to mention their arrogance believing they can do no wrong and that this DLC baloney stands to do them well. Really I will be surprised if Bioware makes it another 5 years before EA cannibalizes them entirely.

I agree with Blurko the controversy surrounding the ending really killed any chance that ME3 had at being in he running for GOTY. It can get nominated but any publication who gives the game GOTY is going to take a lot of flak.

Between the plot holes, nonsensical endings, and technical problems I'd say NO, not GOTY worthy. This is one of the most broken games I've ever owned. More broken than Skyrim's save file problem. There are times when I simply CANNOT play this game.  And lets face it, from a gameplay standpoint it really isn't that much different than ME2 with slightly improved graphics, except maybe that we can, ya know- do a roll now...

Repetitive fetch quests and (if IT isn't true) having a storytelling seizure at the most critical moment of the series says to me that it doesn't deserve GOTY.

From what I have seen so far no, multiplayer is fun for a while.. single-player seems decent but is nearly identical to ME2 minus a few features I miss, but I am sure later this year some game(including D3 which I have yet to play) will be better.

Anyone who thinks ME3 will receive serious consideration for any award other than biggest letdown of the year is delusional.

I mean seriously, it doesn't matter what any major reviewer says. The general consensus among gamers was that it was a disappointment.
