Yeah. So far it does. Sure the endings were....sub par but the rest of the game is great. I personally dont think it will though. It will get nominations for it though.

No

Dishonored, Halo 4, Beyond (if it comes out this year. That trailer was amazing.), Last of Us, Assassins Creed 3, SW: 1313 (also doubt it will be out ths year). But all of these games seem like big contenders and imo I dont think ME3 can compete.(Well... maybe with Halo)

No, not by a long shot. It wasn't up to par with either predecessor. Even not considering the ending, it relies on lazy plot devices and is a bit ham-fisted. There are also enough bugs I had to stop the game once an hour on a five-hour go once. That was so aggravating, after the fifth glitch, I just quit. Given the other big contenders coming out this year, I'm thinking it stands a snowball's chance in hell.

Obviously it's incomplete and often too shoddy to be GOTY.

Had it improved on the first two MEs in ways other than cover shooter mechanics-- instead of going backwards-- then, sure.

Anyone who thinks ME3 will receive serious consideration for any award other than biggest letdown of the year is delusional.

I mean seriously, it doesn't matter what any major reviewer says. The general consensus among gamers was that it was a disappointment.

The gaming media don't care about what real gamers think. Almost everything is great to them. Even the disappointments they blast end up getting 6 out of 10's. And the gaming media came buckets over it... somehow.

Seriously, they're even more out of touch with gamers than BioWare seem to be lately.

No.

A couple of months ago I would not have said that. But looking at the game from a purely critical point of view(something I rarely do, because it tends to ruin an otherwise perfect game for me), it has too many flaws to even be considered next to other titles that will be contenders for GOTY.

Also, being at the center of such controversy, and the way BioWare acted, it will be lucky to be mentioned.

Fix'd. With the way Capcom is doing things I am surprised it didn't get worst company. They are even worse with their dlc and franchise running than any other company out there. Also Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City was a joke and if it has any sway with the direction the franchise is going like one of head dudes said about Resident Evil than I fear for the franchise. They want to cut all ties with their survival horror and make it more about ACTION!! Where is Bioshock on this list or Borderlands 2?

RE6 > ME3 Image IPB

The only thing wrong with ME3 was then ending, and it's looking like the only thing wrong with RE6 is everything.  Let's face it, the quality of the storytelling in ME3 was pretty dismal by Mass Effect standards, but the storytelling in Resident Evil is almost always at least that bad.  The only thing Resident Evil had going for it was the scariness factor, and after RE5 they don't even have that anymore.

I still think that Diablo 3 is the best of the year so far, though.

While I agree that RE6 looks like garbage. ME3 was a disappointment for me long before I witnessed the undescribable monster that was it's ending....

but yeah, for me GOTY is either Journey of FFXIII-2 so far

Nah, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is going to come this Haloween and blow all the competition out of the water.

May as well be. It's not like anything else that's come out so far has been amazing.

Halo CE, 2, and 3 are great. Reach, ODST, and Halo Wars are garbage. CoD is the same BS every year, and BF is trying to be like CoD. And idk what timesplitters is.

No, No and No

This game shouldn't be GOTY. GOTY is reserved for something that has been exceptional, and great from start to finish. Bioware ruined the ME series by pulling off one of the worst endings I've ever seen in a game.

If this game gets GOTY, then it sends the message that devs can screw supporters over however they please, like locking content that is on the disk until you pay extra for it >.>

Definately...I don't think anything else so far this year can compete with Bioware's accomplishment. It would be a pretty controversial choice with fans for obvious reasons, but I still maintain that even when Bioware makes a mis-step, they are still infinately better than 99% of other studios out there right now. People need to rein-in this fixation with EA buying off the gaming media - how could they discretely buy off everyone who gave ME3 a near-perfect score (from the internet giants like IGN to the more low key websites)? There's obvioulsy a discrepancy between what those most vocal of fans think and what those who have reviewed the game think - there are a million reasons for this, none of which may be associted with anything nefarious. You just have to accept that reviews are not 'facts', they are a person's opinion. Unless ofcourse you have been paid by Activision to come to these forums to start trouble...

Anyone claiming ME3 should be GOTY are asking for poor quality and less value from their products in the future.

DOTY, maybe (Disapointment Of The Year), but certainly not GOTY.

While DA2 and ToR made me doubt BiowEAre, ME3 was the one that really made me realize how far they had fallen in the search for a quick buck.

I think you are misunderstanding part of how the business works in that area.

It's not a matter of actively buying out everyone.

It's a passive unspoken threat of NOT buying ad space with the ones that don't play ball with them.

They only have to make use of it every now and then, to make a point, and the reviewers will fall in line all by themselves.

Do you honestly think any system of implied threats works by active actions all the time? Go read up on some history if you fail to understand how this kind of supression works.
