I can't remember if I've answered to this before but in case I haven't here goes. I would love to say yes to GOTY for this game, but... The game is great right up to and including the point where you fight and then joyfully renegade stab Kai Leng out of his miserable existence and leave Cerberus in ruins. For me, Priority : Earth might as well have been story-boarded by a group of prize winners who won the chance to narrate a level for a top 2012 game release! Okay that was very harsh and I whole-heartedly apologise but I needed to point out the writing inconsistencies it seems to me to have. I mean come on, that last mission has so many things Wrong with it that it brings down what was until then a totally brilliant game. I can live with the endings even though they should be way better, but that last hour of gameplay section could have and should have been so very much more IMO. For that reason, I doubt that it'll get GOTY but we'll find out in due course.

YES! Mass Effect 3 was an amazing game. The ending may have been less than stellar but it certainly is way better than what Halo can pull out of its ass now-days. I advocate Mass Effect 3 for Game of the Year and the Mass Effect Series as a whole for a new award, Video Game Event Of The Decade (VGEOTD)

next your gonna say cod will be game of the year cause it is shiny and can keep your attention for more then 2 secs. also opinion doesn't make fact but i am pretty sure people alot more important then you do think it is game of the year. but in the end it is what your personal opinion is of a game that counts, simply put you like shiny things  

all joke somewhat,  just saying that it is annoying to see ppl complain that they wasted their mothers money on mass effect 3 just because of the ending, it is like even if you hate the ending you still got 30 hours or so playtime which is more then a fps in story anyways, and mp so stop ****ing and get a cookie. also i think it is up there on the list , probably would make it now but it is only halfway through the year

Here here, if It wasn't for the fact that I met my RL waifu due to this ME3 fiasco I would have completely regretted ever getting into this series.

Here here, if It wasn't for the fact that I met my RL waifu due to this ME3 fiasco I would have completely regretted ever getting into this series.

Actually I dont play COD, I dont live with my mother, I hated all of ME3 except for a few parts and will probably say that XCOM will be GOTY right now from the looks of it.

Mass Effect is far worse than CoD. That series doesn't mind boggling moronic plots like humans being slurpeed into a space terminator due to "genetic diversity"....lmao.

I will give the ME series one thing, EAware created the first interactive Ed Wood movie with it.

by your statement i will stick by CoD attracting people with shiny          but i guess your opinion is what it is, but don't think it is better then anyone elses, i mean the fact you put cod higher then mass effect 3 probably means your a 13 year old child that is wanting a cookie, and if not then whatever, your opinion is yours mine is mine. i don't think it is going to get GOTY but will be close, good game , not great or awesome but better then some

I find their arrogance to be particularly irritating.  

They hide behind good reviews that didn't take account of all the different choices that could be being imported and how these different choices were addressed in game.  
The 'professional' reviews are not looking at the bigger picture and rating the game as a stand alone linear shooter when its success in providing a satisfactory conclusion to an Action RPG  trilogy based on choice should have been central to any review.  
Reviewers who didn't bother to explore enough to realise that choice and player agency had been largely removed from the game are not really worth paying attention to.

Maybe you spent your moms money but I spent MY hard earned money on this series.  30 crap hours that I"ll never get back.  Seriously so long as I got the hours in it doesn't matter how bad it was just eat a cookie?
This is why I laugh at all those who love the game.  They seem to be in a vacuum where ME3 is the only game that exists.
Also why is it I see more of the so called "haters" being more decent about it than those who love the game?

1. i never once said whether or not i liked or disliked mass effect,  "when you assume, you make an ass out of you and me"      

2. don't recall ever putting your name in that post, that and i said that with the 30hours gameplay and mp if you play it you got your monies worth, whatever your opinion is you got what you paid for, fps give you what 4 hours worth of gameplay and they go for the same amount be happy and stop whining like a child

3. my opinion is my own, i do not need others to read it to feel good about myself
