If people had enjoyed the ending we wouldn't be hearing complaints about the lack of player input in conversations, the eaves-dropping side-quests...

I disagree.

An insightful and thoughful post, you've added clarity to previously unasnwered thoughts about the universe. <_<

Sarcasm aside. You'd get some people complaining for certain but it wouldn't be a fraction of those who are upset now. Most would acknowledge those problems but accept them as blips in an otherwise great game.

Yeah sorry I don't write paragraphs even if they're not warranted, that's verbose.

Better question, is ME3 GOTY worthy to you and only you? If not, yeah, if yes, then yeah! Happy happy times!

Big games coming out this year: Halo 4, Assassin's Creed 3, and The Last of Us. ME3 just does not have the legs to compete with these giants. So no, ME3 is not GOTY worthy.

Halo 4 looks almost as bad as ME3, with all the weird design choices and Master Chief being brought back again when his saga should have ended with Halo 3. Not to mention that the enemy seems to be cheesy looking Bionicles now or something. I honestly don't see why anybody would rave about it: 343 clearly don't know how to make Halo and it's pretty much going down the same path as Mass Effect did now: getting milked and aimed more towards the CoD audience.

I have to say, I picked up Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning cheap not too long ago, and while it feels a tad dated and kind of lacks that X-factor a GotY really needs, I've had far more fun with it and it's a better RPG and game as a whole than ME3 was. So even if it KoA:R isn't worthy of GotY, it's definitely more worthy than ME3, and definitely more worthy of RPG of the Year.

Seems from my perspective that the endings distracted people away from those "blips." The amount of "the game is 99% great but the ending sucks" post across the internet in the first couple weeks after release was in a sense, deafening. They're still around but it seems to me that a lot of people have revised their opinion away from that after giving the game a second go.

Yes, I wrote a review for a website I write for and it is my Game of the Year already, there won't be another game which will compel or invoke more emotion from me than this game this year.

Or they are simply waiting for EC to come out to point and laugh to anyone who expected more than cut scenes leaving the end game as full of nonsense as it is.

In my Book: Extended Cut = moonshine Nonsense

Only too true, if IGN isn't EA's litle **** then I don't know who is.

No it makes me feel all angry and sort of dirty inside instead of providing actual GOTY worthy satisfaction. Not by a long way.

Out of all the games coming out this year that I know of I can only see either Assassin Creed III for me personally is GOTY material, I have to play it first though to be sure... Hell the only reason I am giving ACIII a chance because it takes place in my favorite time period in American History, Colonial America. So far ME3 still has some DLC coming its way here before I can make my final judgement on the game.

You don't know a single thing about Halo 4, do you?

GOTY? Arma 3. ME3 is definately not GOTY quality, even though i find these "awards" to be highly presumptious.
