Maybe there just wasn't another vessel with a toilet on the right side of the ship?

After all, he did have to hack it out right afterwards. *b-boom tss*

Yeah, what was with that- the opposite-sex toilets being locked for Shepard?

Was it really harder to have EDI say "You're in the wrong toilet, Shepard" than have one door constantly locked?

Wierd.

Don't get me started on the Security that had to bodyscan you going from the War Room. "Shepard's carrying a concealed Awesome!" what, am I going to hijack my own ship?

Yet Hackett, and in fact any visitor to the Normandy from the outside, has to go through no such scans. Double-wierd.:unsure::unsure::unsure:

In ME2 you could go into the opposite-sex toilets, but EDI would then point out the location of the sex-appropriate toilet.  (Note: she'd also say the same if you got plastered in the bar on Port Observation Deck, which was hilarious).

The locked toilet could be for later DLC.  You know, how other sections of the ship would open up when you got ... um ... ah.  Yeah.

That's because if she drank too much on the Normandy she'd pee herself.

Aside from the Quarians Shepard never met any of the fleet commanders/ship captains of the other species, he only met their poltical leaders. Those other fleets are there because their politcal leaders told them to be there. Not because Shepard told them to be there.

I also don't know why you assume that the Turian/Salarian/Asari fleet commanders don't know who Hackett is. He's the top ranking officer in the Alliance Navy. The other admirals should know who he is.

For example: You might not know who the top man in the British navy is, but you can be damn sure that the head of our Navy does. You can also be sure that our Admirals have worked with the Admirals of allied nations during fleet exercises/drills. Militaries do joint exercises all the time. The heads of the Council race militaries should all know of each other/worked together.

Its effectively a load screen, like the elevator.

I know that. A load screen was required, but to use that as a load screen?

A scene where Shepard paused in the room, told the officers to keep their end up, and the officers told Shepard that she was God's Gift to Men (or God's Gift to Women, or the Enkindlers' gift to Turians, whatev's) would have been cheesy, but it wouldn't have had more-than-a-few fans going, "WTF is this Krogan nuts?"

Not until after the Reapers' invasion, before that point Shepard is too important to hunt down, no matter how much the Alliance might want to.

After the invasion, well heck, whatever's left of the Alliance is welcome to try.

Although at that point Shepard is either dead, the new Reaper God, or Synthesis Jesus, the creator of a new consciousness.

Nevertheless, my Shepard, much as she wanted to kill Admiral Xen (slaver and xenophobe, hence the name), would be happy just kicking Hackett in the nuts.

"And THAT's for letting me rot Earthside for six months while the Reaper threat got bigger, you son-of-a-b*tch."

My Shepard wanted to do worse to the Human Council, but the Reapers did my job for me.

You do know Hackett prevented the Alliance hunting down Shepard when he/she worked with Cerberus right.

Also if Shepard did kick Hackett, he/she would have been court-marshalled staright away, even during the Reaper invasion a high ranking military leader's like Hackett or Anderson need to make sure that every one in the Allinace follows the chain of command and have to deal with does who aren't able to

I don't see what the issue is after all Hackett is the Commanding Officer of the Alliance Navy and the Normandy falls under that curtain. I saw it more as a sign of respect then anything else. Hell if I was Shepard I would be honored to have a high ranking officer deliver a pep speech on my ship.

Yes, I do know that.

That's why my Shepard would be content with whapping him in the nuts, rather than shooting him- which is what Xen deserved.

My Shepard killed the old Earthborn Gang blackmailer, after all. That's as close to murder as she's got.
Except she also orchestrated the death of the Batarian barman poisoner.

I'm pretty sure multiple posters have said this before.

In response, I believe neither Hackett nor Anderson would be so stupid as to take Shepard out of the game in the middle of an invasion if all she did was kick Hackett in the nuts then get right back to unifying the Galaxy against the Reapers.

You think they'd value military discipline over the survival of the Galaxy? That Hackett's nuts are more important than the survival of the Human Race?

If Shepard had actually kicked, it would have gone like this-

FemShep- "Hello Admiral."
[Renegade Crotch Kick]
[Hackett collapses]
FemShep- "And THAT's for letting me rot Earthside for six months while the Reaper threat got bigger, you son-of-a-b*tch."
Hackett [Getting up] "Are you quite finished, Commander?"
FemShep- "Yep. Now let's go get those Reapers."
Hackett- "If you were any other soldier who hadn't seen what you've seen and done what you'd done, and if we didn't need you so much . . .."
FemShep- "Talk to me after the mission, Admiral."
Hackett- "Oh, I'm sure we'll speak again, Commander. Maybe next time we'll have a meeting in the cargo hold. You think you and Vega are the only ones on board who can dance, rank be damned?"
FemShep- "I look forward to it . . . Loco."

James Vega approves of fighting superior officers.

Commander Shepard can put aside their rank to spar with junior officers.

Do you think Hackett's afraid of a little punchy-punchy?  :o:O:O

I am very glad that your Shepard is honoured. Your choice is 100% valid to play Shepard your way, and let no-one tell you you're wrong.

I don't take offense to my superior officer taking a moment to address the forces gathering to help take back our home world, I take offense at the poor speech that it was he gave and that Shepard gave. And at how the game just kept sinking further and further into horrible waters from as soon as I drove that omni-tool blade into Lang's chest.

Hackett was the one who ordered you to get info on the crucible, which proved to be the only way the fleet could have won.
Hackett was the one who actually led the team making the crucible. (you got parts, but he built it). Hackett is the highest ranking human not on Earth. Udina is dead, and Earth is the planet everyone is going to save.
The administration of several fleets has got to be a pain in the ***.

In short Hackett earned it as much as Shepard did.

Well, from his prespective: Shepard got to play diplomat on the citadel and visit new and interesting places and meet aliens. In the meantime he was on the front lines orchestrating the operations of every surviving aliance ship (normandy included) in a one sided war against a vastly superior enemy that allready occupied his homeworld. Shepard may feel that weight of the world is on his shoulder, but hacket and anderson are the ones having to deal with daily casualties reports of people they sent to their death. Remember how hard you fought to get everyone back alive from the "suicide mission" and how you felt when mordin, legion and thane died? now multiply it by a million. Shepard is a weapon, but hacket is the one wielding it. In any war, the grunts aren't the ones making speeches, they're the ones speeches are aimed at.

Also I think this thread belongs in the story forum, not the genpop. You basically spoiled the ending for those that haven't played it yet, by revealing that hacket doesn't die in the game. There are alot of people really sensitive about that.

Though many others have posted similar threads.

And why would Hackett order Shepard to destroy Cerberus operations all over the galaxy instead of ordering them to help Shepard?

I don't consider Shepard part of the Alliance. We may have been tossed some dogtags from Anderson, but I doubt it should count. The only reason the Normandy SR2 is considered an Alliance ship is because the Alliance somehow caught my Shep and stripped my ship for parts (and did a shoddy job considering her gas tank now) and then Joker sailed away with Alliance workers still on it. We just couldn't open the airlock.

Shepard is a Spectre, they take orders from no one at this point. I'll listen to Anderson, but why should I listen to Hackett?

Liara is hamfisted into his role anyway, she discovered the crucible. If she didn't abandon her post as the Shadow Broker (to stalk Shep, in my head at least), she could've easily gotten all of our assets to build it herself.
