I thought it was odd when I completed 20 job board quests and did not receive the "Mercenary" achievement, but since then, I've noticed that I haven't gotten the master lockpicker or trap disabler ones, either, and I've picked every lock in the game (I'm almost at Landsmeet, so it must have been hundreds of chests), and I've disabled every trap I've come across.

With some of the other achievements, they've flashed on screen the moment they happened, but there was nothing either on screen or in my player profile.

Is there a solution to this?

I don't know. I knew that my Elite Achievement didn't unlock when I already got two specializations unlocked on my main character. However I am replaying a portion of my character again therefore I hope this time when I get to Level 14 that it will trigger this time.

This is becoming a problem.

I have on my second playthrough completed 'every' job board quest (collective, irrelgulars and chantry) yet no achievement.

As on my first character, I have 'learned' 2 specialisations, yet no achievement. I have also completed all but 4 of the side quests, yet no achievement....done more than 25 persuade/intimidate checks...no achievement either.

Very frustrating.

So my only conclusion is this. Either the wording is very wrong (would not suprise me) or its bugged. To get the 15 job board quests, do they need to be turned in one by one rather 2 or 3 at a time to get it?

What constitues a 'difficult' persuade/intimidate check?

Bioware, if you can confirm some of the above please before I start going mad it would be much appreciated. If its bugged, I expect and assume a fix is on its way, if its not then what shold the correct wording be?

Anyone else who 'has' unlocked these, care to share how you did it, as in 2 playthroughs now, doing enough to unlock them, I have somehow failed to manage it.

Yeah yeah very good for you. Care to share where you hit them? Saying you got them when others have not doesnt really help us does it now?

Elite I got in my 1st playthrough when I picked my 2nd specialization (i.e. at level 14). Master Lockpicker I got after... eh... either 25 or 100 chest locks picked successfully, don't remember for sure. Lighting reflexes I haven't got, I think. Silver Tongue I got in my 1st playthrough after x (25 perhaps) successful persuade attempts "at high difficulty".

Probably your best bet to get the persuade and intimidation achievements is to get Coercion to max level, and try it from there.

That said, I don't think I have any problems with achievements really, but it takes a long time to unlock them all legally (am in my 3rd playthrough, have around 70 of them I think).

I can't remeber when I first received the achievments, but for lockpicking I maxed it out plus have to have high dex, I found there are some chests you can't unlock if dex isn't high enough. Same with coercion, even with it maxed your cunning needs to pretty high. At cunning 36 I was able to pursuade Sir Cauthrien to let me in the landsmeet without lopping off her head.

You can persuade Cuathrian without all the cunning...just max coercian will let you do that....thus my point.

With the intimidate (which uses STR I believe)...again with max coercian and a high str, after more than 50 intimidate attempts still no achievement.

I'm really asking not when/how...but any particular dialogue scenes....have heard that you can persuade the owner of the Pearl to lower her price....then refuse....then do again et al to get this achievement but I don't like cheating....want to get them properly...but there we have another point.

The pearl encounter is obviously classed as 'difficult'...so which others are and which ones are not etc?

Or are they tied to what your coercian/STR/Cuning is at 'at the time' ?

It is very obviously not as simple as it makes out, or I would have them both by now yes? So there must be some other trigger as I suggested above?

Again, for the job board quests, do they need to be one at a time and turned in one at a time to get the achievement for 15....have done this twice now...and done them all...but not got the achievement....but on both runs I have turned multiple ones in at the same time....does the game not recognise them, the same as you dont get the rewards/xp for turning them in together rather than individually? (will be doing them individual on current playthrough to see).

Well...unlocked elite on this run through ? hmmm....

Also (SPOILERS):

Also managed to get Bully...but with differing people this time. The 5 I intimidated were:

Bandits on road (Lothering)

Revered Mother (Lothering - You must do this one...Alistair's and Morrigan's reactions made me lmao)

Master Tilver (Denerim - slim Couldry Quest)

The soldier who was apparently at Ostagar (near the dwarven Vendor - Denerim)

White Falcom Veteran (In Pearl)

These got me the achievement....might be useful for others?

I had the only elite achievement left undone. Although I learnt 2 specializations (in some characters 5 spe:) several times with both rogue, warrior and mage the achivement was locked till yesterday. I used the manual of focus and re-establish the attributions, skills and talents/spells. In that way I also changed my pc's specializations (picked 3 out of 5 and by the way I kept 1 of the previous spe and acquired 2 new) and ta-da ELITE Achievement unlocked. I'm Sooo happy coz this was my last week and I'll not be around for an uncertain time away from everything including dao:(((
