Asari are just second rate knockoffs of Twi'lek from star wars.
They are even the same color and have head tentacles.
I think their head tentacles resemble the shape of the Silurians from Doctor Who more. Although the coloring and beauty of Asari is definitely more Twi'lek.

Too bad about the ending, I won't be seeing them again unless it is fixed.

yeah but that's the new design of the Silurians the old one is a bit creepier http://upload.wikime...x-Silurian2.jpg
I imagine it's more likely the update was inspired by the Asari than vica-versa, which would be pretty awesome if true.

Srsly, they are basically blue humans with head tendrils. Not that amazing. Get over yourselves, ladies. Your appeal is defined by who you are and to an extent how well your face is structured, just like the rest of us. I've seen plenty of asari whose faces were just average looking, and not "pretty."

Unless that's correct, I actually kinda dislike the Asari. They have some well-conceived cultural and biological details, but srs? A race of nearly-human sexy blue space lesbians?

Tali & Liara rule though. If only I could romance Tali in ME1... If only someone else could save my dead body from the collectors... After that I just couldn't leave Liara... Luv her from the moment she was immobilized in that force field. I mean, sooo sexy
I loved B5

Don't care, still romance Liara everytime. She's a great character to boot.

That said, Liara is a great character and is very well written. But I dislike the fact that the writers practically assume most players will opt to romance her.

Liara is more lovable because she has a great personality, same with Tali.
Not necessarily their bodies that make them teh beautiful.

Ha, you're right. I forgot that their redesign was in 2010, I thought it was before that. Well, there is proof of the Asari's beautiful influence right there.

If alien are real, I want them to be asari.
Most unique races?
You obviously havent seen Star Control 2. Mass Effect races are rather generic.

Anyone here remember the bachelor party in ME2? Maybe they're right -- the Asari might have something going on to make every intelligent species perceive them as beautiful.

That is my suspicion. I think that the Asari look different to every race, taking on an appearance similar to them. (I don't think it's necessarily intentional either.) That's how people can think the Asari are beautiful, but not humans.
... and sexy space lesbians are always a good thing. >_>

Well, I have a hard time judging any videogame character by their body, since they all typically have identical Hollywood bodies. After a while you get a bit desensitized. Think Tali has a nice body? Shala'Raan's body is identical. Think Kaidan has a nice body? Identical to Harkin's.StElmo wrote...

But faces -- faces can add a degree of appeal, and variance.

No they are different, Shala'Raan and Multiplayer quarians uses old ME1 (Tali)/ME2 default npc quarian female body , Tali has unique

Can you really blame him? Asari are basically the lesbian/bisexual race.
Their beginnings were softcore lesbian mind tentacle porn. Who can beat that? Me personally i'm all about dem krogan ladies rawr!
and of course Tali nothing says hot like a suit with nerve ending attachments.

The asari look beautiful in the game, but the back of their heads and lack of ears would bother me so much if they were real.

Looks the same to me. Seriously, all quarian women have curvaceous hips and shapely bodies. So why is Tali's shapeliness significant? Because she's Tali.Shajar wrote...
