I might not use a medigel if it's totally hopeless (like I've got two banshees and a Brute sitting on my dying face) but I'll usually try.

Last night we were on Silver, Dagger, Cerberus and on wave ten it was disabling devices. The others managed to get three of them but then all died. There was no way I could rez them. We had three minutes left on the last device and I somehow managed to clear enough to get there (it was one of the devices in the open space in the middle, but tucked in the corner - and yes there were Nemesis' in the upper sniping section!)

After disabling it I believe I had six nemesis', three engineers and an Atlas left, and managed to clear.

I was on one of the OP classes (Asari Adept) but still, moments like that are really fun, and if I'd failed it would hardly have cost me anthing.

I think I was one of the dead team mates. I have to admit it was epic to see you pull it off!

I was playing as a Human Engineer yesterday (not my first choice of class but want to improve!) on Silver, Palaven. Geth Prime wiped out my team mates then I saw Pyro's and just your regular Geth...Okay, so I wasn't being timed on any part of the mission but I do not enjoy having that many Geth following me around.

Took them all down and hurrah, we survived onto the final wave. Was a fantastic feeling to actually live through my solo wave. Doing it for the team!

It depends.. because some games are just simply not worth wasting another medi gel for. A lot of times (esp. when you are the last one alive), you find yourself surrounded by 3 Phantoms, or Banshees, or whatever. It's just retarded to get up, only to die again, then get up again for the sake of "roleplaying" the sole survivor.

I actually like getting thrown into matches where the rest of the team is down. I feel like the cavalry

If I am playing with bad players, I fight on. Why? Because while everyone who complains about bad players, and not wanting to waste consumables on them... I'm teaching them something. So what if they are bad? Everyone has to learn somehow. Everyone starts somewhere.

Hell, I carried two new players earlier today (third one quit when he bled out on wave 3) by myself. Guess what? They stuck around, and got better. They picked up some tricks, and tactics.

I agree, I will always keep fighting regardless if my teammates are doing well or not. I go until the very end and sometimes some of those players who might have quit will stay. I remember one match where 2 of my teammates quit and one guy was left. While I was soloing it in the wave he stayed after I completed it and we made it to the end. Games like that are just fun to complete in my opinion when you are down players and you ahve to carry more weight.

what i want to know is why everyone gives except the last man standing ive seen that more
time when everyone is dead and the last person needs to finish the wave ( no not wave 10 )

and everyone just leaves because they dont have the patience to sit it out.

A player ending up soloing means s/he hasn't worked well with the rest of the team. The missions are supposed, and absolutely supoosed, to be completed by a team.

Not really. It means that player knows where to go and where not to go to stay alive. You can't always control your teammates who run off alone on the map then get downed becasue they broke off from the team. I've been in situations and matches where all I'd do is stick with the team constantly reviving them but there comes a time where you have to make a choice: A) go in for a final daring revive on that one dude who is still alive after and poissibly lose the match or B) just get through the wave solo since you know you can.

If the team is made of randoms who all got wiped on wave 4, I'll keep playing, but I'm not going to rez if I drop. Being the last man standing in the first half of the match generally doesn't augur well for your chances at getting to and clearing wave 10. At that point, I'll just take my bronze level money and be pleased it took half the time to get it.

I had an epic moment in my second ever Silver game vs. Reapers. I was a human Sentinel.

It was wave 7 and everyone got taken out, we were paired up, but Brute and Banshee spawned almost on top of my partner. I don't know what happened to the other 2. I had 4 rockets and 3 medi-gels. I uses them all, but I made it. It was an awesome moment.

Only 1 other person had a mic, and they saved my tail. I was almost done, but they suddenly told me, "Banshee on your left". I went into a rolling, running for my life frenzy, epuipped my last rocket and took her out. Truly epic, for me.

Since I was out of everything by that point the team had to support me the last few waves, but we made full extraction in the end. :D

Just had a Gold game an hour ago as a female Human Engie (Wrench Wench) where the squad got cut up by Phantoms in Wave 4 or 5.  I was the second last down (first 2 bled out) and the last guy was a Geth Infil with a Javelin X (a well played Infil could have finished it solo by cloak-run-snip).

1st attempt to self-res failed as there was still an Phantom + Guardian nearby, so I was just tapping on SPACE half-wondering if the last guy would try to cloak-res me when he got taken down as well.

I was like thinking "C*** Infil player!" and half minded to let it go.  My pride got the better of me, so I expended another Med-Gel and went guerrilla (and sort of wanted to show the Infil player that I didn't need Cloak or a Javelin X to take down the critters that got him)..

It was 5 minutes of sprinting, dropping my drone, spamming Overload and blasting away with my Tempest/Phalanx.  Playing on an open map really helped. It was worth it cos after I finished off that wave the team went on to secure the Wave 10 objective (ie. get the most $$$ out of the game) before going down for good.

Depends on our chances of winning overall. Like if it was something unlucky that took our the group (badly placed turret or surprise grenade) then I'll take up the flag and rally to victory or die trying. But if I can see that things are just going badly (pack of hunters in the hack zone infini-killing the rezzers or something) then I'll save my medigel for the next match.

normally I wouldnt give up but there are a few times I will.

1. If its the 10th round and the objective is completed and I got downed. Im not wasting medigel just for some xp.
2. If its a gold match and my whole team ran out in the open and got downed right away in the first round. Not much point in continuing with stupid team mates like that.

I don't understand why you would give up when you have such an awesome chance to show off your 733t skills to everyone else in the game. Earlier on, for a joke, my friends and I were playing an all krogan game, with the only weapons allowed being claymores and graals. During extraction, we were flanked by multiple banshees, brutes and ravagers, and while I, being the battlemaster, was able to charge across the map to safety, my soldier and sentinel friends (they don't have the vanguard yet) perished and bled to death. So, with a mighty "My turn!" over the mike, I went on an epic spree of charges, before finally clearing out the landing zone with a missile to get sole survivor with seconds to spare.

Afterwards, in the lobby, there's a sort of awed silence until I yell "FOR TUCHUNKA!"

I was cheering for a player who was the last one standing, doing his best to take down the last of the 4 targets mission. Then he pulled out his rocket launcher as the final seconds ticked away to kill the target...missed. Then settled back for another steady shot and...missed again...blink blink  mouth drops in disbelief.

I wish I had recorded the audio in that mission, the screaming disbelief of another team mate (in german I believe) was priceless.  :pinched:

So where as some lone players can pull off the mission, others should know their limitations and just save the rocket ammo.

If I am annoyed at my team mates for being dumbasses, I just give up sometime.

Sometimes I finish the round to make me feel better about my superior skill and show off.

I can count on one hand the number of solo wins I've managed to pull. If it's just me and one other person, it will happen, but if it's just me I panic and realize that I look like an idiot while everyone is watching me. Too much pressure so I start making stupid mistakes.

Last night, I actually had a shining moment of awesome defending a Wave 10 hack against Reapers with one another AA. Our teammates died about 30 seconds into the hack and we managed to survive the onslaught. Then right after we finished, I started to mop up the half dozen marauders by our area and D/Ced.

Psh. This plays in my head.

Mine's better.

Both good...  But  THIS is what plays in my brain-case when I'm the last alive. ;)

All 3 good but either THIS or THIS or THIS or THIS or hell even THIS randomly plays when I'm the last man standing.

People voted to kick me after being the last one alive in a Gold game. I guess it was because I didn't give up.

It really depends on the situation.. I usually am playing Salarian infi, either with my group or in pubs, so finishing a wave solo is a bit easier and I've done it quite often. The big deciding factor is how early in a wave we wiped. If there's still tons of mobs, and I know there will be lots more respawning, I generally won't waste too many resources. Unless it's wave 6 or 10 (gold), then all bets are off, at least if I think the objective is completable.

If it's later in a wave, and I think I have a reasonable team and a good chance to finish up, then I'll spend whatever resources it takes. As with most things, it's just a cost/benefit choice.

I'd probably be willing to do it a lot more often if we'd ever get any sort of *#&$ equipment pack back, but even then... I'm not going to waste 10-15 mins soloing nearly a whole wave when I could just start another round (maybe with another team!) and get more out of my time.

I've done it a few times.

After I've taken out a few enemies and scanned the battlefield to realize how many phantoms I'll have to deal with.

It's always because the team shouldn't have been in gold though.
Don't see a point in wasting all my rockets getting wave 8 done when they are going to be on the ground again 30 seconds into wave 9.

I did it once, on a Silver match with friends, because we were close to winning and I had no desire to get taken down by just an atlas and two combat engineers pinning me in.

But also consider:
If said lone survivor is watching his team die around him constantly, and theyre rez-swapping in the middle of a bunch of melee enemies, and they've been doing it all game... (and it's wave 6 or 7)... then yeah, I'd probably give up, too.

I'm not going to waste consumables on a bunch of people who can't survive a wave in Silver for a million dollars. After the first cloak/revive combo, if they die again, it's not looking like a good group.

Some maps, some objectives, you can pull off the epic soloing a wave on Silver. I don't ever have to do this on Gold because I don't pug it. Period.

Can't tell you how many times I have fought to my last breath while being the last one alive.  It's always tough when it's an objective round.  Especially trying to eliminate geth primes on silver by yourself with no rocket launcher.
