This has been sort of covered in a round about way in numerous different threads (that I've seen.. they move too fast!) but I'm not sure if I've ever seen a definitive answer...
Do people prefer team mates to play a class that they as a player are strongest with, or a class that brings better balance to the team, even if the player will be less effective with it?
As an example, I'll quite happily admit that I'm average/below average when it comes to using sentinals and soldiers, but if I enter a lobby where there's no classes that can soak a bit of damage, I've no problems with using either as in theory it would benefit the team.
My prefered classes are the Asari Adept, Salarian/Quarian Infilitrators and I've recently been enjoying the Asari and Krogan Vanguards and Geth Engineer.
So, my question is, do people prefer a team mate that may not play the strongest round, but the class compliments the team, or they use a class that they're considerably more proficient with, but may leave the team a bit lopsided in strength/weakness?
As an aside, I only tend to play silver/bronze due to R/L distractions (only a few seconds at a time, but that can often enough mean death), so concentration wise, I wouldn't want to drag a gold run down.
Team balance or character strength?
