And I can't move the cursor to select "Load" like I used to in order to end the screen.  

I can still use the guide button and go back to dashboard, so its not frozen, but when I try again same thing keeps happening.  

What about everyone else?

What happens if you're using the 360 Slim and on a WI FI connection? Is it possible to start the game offline, then turn on your Wi-fi after you reach the main menu?

That was and remains my problem. Using a 360S on WiFi. It has completely rendered my singleplayer unplayable.

I tried deleting everything, redownloading, etc. No dice. I finally deleted my save games in frustration.

That at least allows me access to multiplayer, sort of. I figure I can get better at that (suck less at least) until they patch this issue.

^^^^^^^^^^^ How does it allow you to access MP? For me it just stays stuck on the menu because I can't move the cursor or click anything, just stays on "Checking downloadable content"

Were you able to move your cursor or something? If thats the case loading SP should've been able for you. As was my case before the patch.

I ahve the same issue, fomr day one I got the agme it would check dlc, than data then abck to checking dlc, I was able to navigate the menu in the abckroudn to load a game, start a new game or resume. I was not however able to access multiplayer unless someone invited me or I loaded up a game, exited that said game and went bakc to menu. Once I did that the Checking DLC message was gone and I was able to enter multiplayer. Now with this new patch, once the Checking DLC message comes up after checkign data, my menu options are locked, I have to start up my system without internet, go into the game, sign into my xbox profile and then recconnet to the internet for thigns to work ok....that is a hassle and very porblematoic.

It'll be much longer getting back online, but unplug your router until the main screen is loaded, then plug i back in and wait for your wireless to come back up and connect to xbox live.

Personally, I've found that I only get stuck whenever cloud storage tried to sync.  I've had two instances where it never even tried to sync and the game loaded fine.  It could also have something to do with having single player saves available on a diffrent drive than your DLC.  Who knows at this point.

EDIT:  Forgot to specifically say it, but this is how to work around with built-in wifi on the newer xboxes.

I don't use cloud, and don't plan to ever use it. They ahven't exactly answered the question of how can you get your stuff if you loose connection ot the net. Thus your left without any saved data. As for the turning off the console, dissconnecting internet, turning it on and signing onto profile, activating game, and letting ti load up, it wokrs great. Then I reconnect to the internet, sign in to my xboxlive account and vuala, no more Checking Downladable Content message or locked menu...problem is I ahve to do that every freakin time...I know the folks at Bioware are tryign to help fix some tech issues, but this patch has only made more.

Well. I finally managed to get online for multiplayer.
I deleted ALL the DLC for ME3. That worked well.

I was able to download and play the resurgence pack, as long as I don't exit the game.
As a test, I left the game, and returned to the dashboard. I then got the DLC checking hang upon starting the game again.

So, as it stands, I cannot have ANY DLC downloaded in order to play. That seems . . . odd.
There is definitely something wrong with the authentication process for DLC.

P.S. I cannot really test singleplayer anymore; I deleted the saves out of frustration.

So I'm forced to use that solution with unplugging the cable then connect online after the Main menu loads.

Wow this is horrible, my game has worked fine for me since day one, but ever since they released the patch I've had nothing but problems. This checking downloadable content error is just ridiculous and makes me SOOOOOOO mad; I just wanna get back to playing the game.

I had the same freezing problem today when I downloaded the update. The update/the freezing also wiped out my in game stats for a 2nd time. Back to 0 kills once again.

I'm in the exact same situation as you. Even used to be able to select things on the main menu while the DLC check was up. Can't anymore.

What's causing this to be precise? I tried deleting the N7 collectors edition DLC, the Argus rifle, and it still does it.. Has anyone tried deleting Javik? I don't wanna do it then download again since it takes longer.

 I was experiencing the same issue with my 360 Slim. I fixed it by doing this:

I disconnected my wireless connection through the system menu.
I started the game and successfully made it to the menu.
I went into the online tab in options and turned the feedback option back on and the auto sign in to EA servers.
I dashboarded and reconnected to my wireless router then restarted the game.
The game loaded up fine and worked perfectly again.

I hope this helps some of you.

I think I was able to get past the main menu once successfully with a similar workaround regarding the auto login, but I do not want to be constantly connected to the EA server.

I have left it on. I'll check back in in a couple minutes and let you know if turning it back off causes the problem to occur.

Kind of lack the patience to check which one is causing the issue but if you turn both options back off and restart the game the problem occurs again. Apparently, they really want these two options left on. Annoying and a little intrusive, but I guess I can live with it for a while... I hope they fix it though. Soon.

Thanks for checking, that's what I was thinking :/

I'll try it again tomorrow and if it works, then I guess I'll just have to remember not to play for too long at a time (it's easy to hit my data cap while being connected to the EA servers...didn't know DA2 automatically connected, and I got a couple of letters from my ISP that month!).

I will have to see if there's a way to do this with a console that's connected via Wi-Fi. Or I will just not bother, I don't know....I want to play, but I also don't believe in having to fix a problem that seems to be clearly on BW's end.

Bugs everywhere in ME3. First I was part of the BLACK SCREEN thread since last month, I fix that, now this.

Yes, as an aside, the only way I could get the game to work with the 360S over wireless was to disable the router with a power interrupt. Then allow it to reboot, and reconnect automatically AFTER you have passed the start screen and that first DLC authentication.

I still haven tried single player again. Don't really have the heart after deleting my saves earlier.

Yeah thats what I had assumed to be the temp solution.  Turn off wi fi source then back on to reconnect a 360 Slim.
