Well, I found that if I cleared the cache so I could get in (after declining the patch of course) and turn my Auto-Login to On, I don't have any issues with the patch except for it still not recognizing one of my Sheps that I've had since ME1.

The difference I notice is how I let it patch with the Auto Login feature...I once allowed it to patch from the main menu, and this caused a complete freeze on my console. Weird stuff.

Bugs!!! Bugs everywhere!

So this isn't a sever related issue, as I heard someone else say, or could it be? After all it only happens if you're online when you boot the game.

Okay so I cleared my cache, declined the patch, it let me through to the menu, I signed onto the EA Server from there which prompted me to download the patch. I did. And it worked, whether or not it remains to work is another story

^^^^^ I'm thinking its because you redownloaded the patch.

Once you quit the game, say dashboard or power off, it will happen a.gain when you boot up. I think that scenario may have happened to me while I was troubleshooting

Bump this...

okay made my own thread aboout this the other day and now it's happening again...
getting stuck on checking for DLC

getting stuck at checking for Download content!

WHY does IT have to check for DLC EVERYTIME that I press start.
once should have been enough. right?

so if it's just there to bug out and act as a ban. get rid of it. (checking for DLC feature)

if it's there just to authenticate the DLC once should have been enough.

And no I am not going to change it so that it auto connects to EA servers.
I should not have to have it set like that just to play.

ONE Question what happens when ea server authentication server dies? answer = everyone is on ban status when conected to live?

so in final closing get rid of checking for DLC thing.    it's bad.
or is there a reason for it besides it being buged out and = a ban?

well thanks to who ever pointed out to set auto connect to EA servers to ON/yes.

I've had this not happen since I did that...

to do this you have to disable your internet some how and start up ME3
and go to options-> online->autoconnect to EA servers - ON/yes
then exit out-> reenable internet and restart ME3 it should work.

If it does not work after the above step
name your new topic: "I have reenabled auto connect to EA servers and still get Checking for DLC"
and make a video if you can and post it...

Ok I recently tried it and it worked.  And its more proof that it has something to do with being online and connecting to EA, I always preferred connecting manually as you said earlier so I hope they fix that option, as it is a option for any player who wants it.

Mine has been doing this for about 2 weeks. It started working again last week but has been "checking for dlc" since friday. Very strange how it stopped doing this then started again. I was almost free from this curse -_-
