Respec your powers towards damage on ED. It takes half their barriers without a combo on gold.

Judging by his last post, All-a-Mort is apparently talking about taking down Banshees specifically in single player.

You don't play a lot as an Infiltrator, do you? =)
Uh, I've played through insanity twice as an infiltrator. Banshees have no weakpoints. Brutes have armor plating, which just stop a fixed amount of damage before being destroyed. The spine isn't a weak point (you don't get a damage multiplier)--you just avoid the armor plates.
Anybody who says you're wrong is .... well wrong. You're completely correct.
Banshees have no weakpoints (counter intuitive since you would think shooting it in the head is better. But no damage multiplier whatsoever. So shoot the belly or chest, much easier targets.)
And Brutes have no "weak points", just parts of the body which are armored. Avoid shooting the armored parts and it all does the same damage.

Yep. I do not do multiplayer. On every other occasion I have felt ED to be potent, but as an Infiltrator, despite the damage evolutions of ED, the damage to a Banshee's barrier at level 6 is frankly trivial and my weapon talents do not compensate. Compared to one of my biotic runs (where combos made Banshees a joke), I find them considerably more challenging.Zaxares wrote...

As I said in another thread, I do wish people would keep MP posts in the MP forum. For the most part, this is not the right place for such discussions.

But they do have heads, and head shots deal 20% extra damageBanshees have no weakpoints (counter intuitive since you would think shooting it in the head is better. But no damage multiplier whatsoever. So shoot the belly or chest, much easier targets.)

The way they programmed how the Banshee takes damage, I'm inclined to believe the "head" is cosmetic. If the entire body takes the same amount of damage, then the headshot bonus you get won't register since the game doesn't see it as a "head volume". And from what I've seen, my Black Widow 5 does no more damage to the head with my infiltrator spec'ed for headshot damage than shooting a Banshee in the chest.

As an Infiltrator - cloak (with sniper rifle bonus)+good sniper rifle (Widow/Black Widow /Javelin upgraded to max) with high-caliber barrel and piercing mod + disruptor/AP ammo.
As an Adept - biotic combos (warp+throw is best) gets any enemy flatlined real quick. Also if you play single-player - take one teammate with biotic powers (Javik/Liara), makes anoyne go BOOM real nice. Also Javik's lift grenades combined with Adept cluster grenades - are beasty effective againist big enemies (can take down Atlas in seconds, think same goes for banshees), but ammo is limited, so use them wisely.

Banshees in SP do not bother me like they do in MP because they have little support. The main thing is having an awareness of where you are to be able to mover/fall back when they jump at you. As long as you do not lose mobility (get trapped in a corner) they really can't get you.
