Ready when it's ready if it takes 3 years then it takes 3 years. Rushing things comes back and bites you in the arse.

Well don't you want the game soon?Plus Mass effect 3 was created in only 2 years and it is great(ending wan't rushed, the developers just had their idea we don't quite like).I think 2 years is just enough to polish a game

I liked DA2 a whole lot. But I like it in spite of some very irritating flaws. The nature of these flaws suggest that they would be gone (or greatly diminished) if the game hadn't been so rushed. Had DA2 had another year (or more) of development time, I have no doubts that it would have been a masterwork.
I want them to take their time with the next DA game. Kicking it out the door before it is good and ready may satisfy some people in the short term, but in the end it causes a whole lot of ill will when people justifiably complain about what could have been.
In a perfect world, EA would let Bioware work, like Activision does with Blizzard. Diablo 3 is dropping in like three weeks. Diablo 2 came out in what, 2000? 2001? I don't even remember. Starcraft 2 took 12 years. But the games benefit hugely. I haven't played any of the D3 beta because I don't want to spoil anything, but it won't suprise me if the game is a effing triumph because Blizzzard takes the time to get it right.

And ME3 is a terrible example, beyond the ending, the huge amount of auto dialogue, lazy fetch quests, and lack of quality interaction with teammates all point to the game being rushed. I loved the first two ME games, but I'll probably never finish the last one because of the lack of RPG elements. I really hope DA3 is nothing like it in that regard.

No, I want the game released when it's ready. I want the developers to work without too much pressure on the release date. They don't have to cut content or rushing the game (as it was, in my opinion, the Act 3 of DA2) for releasing the game soon.

ME3 wasn't well polished. If you compare ME2 with ME3 (without considering the PS3 version, which Bioware screwed up in both games) the game have a lot more of bugs/glitches.
It may have been enough time to polish the game without MP. With MP, they' should've spend more time in polishing the game.

If Bioware could snap there fingers and have a fantastic game ready right this second then that would be amazing. However, this is real life and these things take time to make.
I'd rather wait 5 years for a truly outstanding game, than a year and a half and end up with something severely lacking.

Lack of detail in surroundings/bugs/some quests that had a snippety snap feel/lots of filler is simple fedex stuff without any depth to name some of the complaints.
If given more time the things mentioned above could be done better and make DA3 the rememrable jewel it can (and deserves to) be.
I like DA2 but I will remember DAO. Played a lot of RPG's; there are games that I can recall things of from years ago and other games when mentioned I think "oh, played that one, what was it again?" DA2 had great potential but I'm very sorry to say that it falls in the last catagory.
My hopes for DA3 will be that when given time (not rushed) I can say years after I played it; that was a fantastic game.

Besides, Bioware staff have mentioned that this time around, they want to be more transparent about the development cycle of the next game. So while we won't have DLC to tide us over, we'll (hopefully) have frequent updates on the process and be able to offer feedback.LolaLei wrote...

I quite like the idea of them showing us their concepts and confirmations as they develop the game. It leaves them open to suggestion and feedback if theres something they're unsure on, or we aren't keen on etc.

The flaws that DA2 had was due to a lack in development time. This is what a lot op people (including me) think on this forum.
I've wondered at times if the cheese wheels were a bit of a shot at EA about the game being rushed out before it was ready or the amount the game needed to be scaled back from what was planned to meet a deadline. While I might enjoy playing it now I'd rather see a game that took 3 to 4 years to develop and end with a product more deep along the lines of Origins.
Besides that having pre-ordered DA2 I'm going to wait and see what the fan feedback is like before deciding if I'll buy DA3. So hopefully it'll have a more polished feel which requires multiple iterations in developement and SQA to get right. My guess is via feedback bioware understands that having DA3 go out the door and having the fans giving feedback they're disappointed will result in a loss of sales from those who decided to sit on the fence this time around due to the DA2 experience.
Take it easy

Fans say that they want DA III in late 2013/2014,WHY? thats 3 years from DA2 and we only got 2 DA2 DLC's.Dragon age 2 took onky 1.5 years and in that time we got 10 DAO DLC,1 expansion, tons of additional stuff.ME3 took 2 years to develop, between that time we got ton of ME2 DLC's.We have only 2 DLC for DA2,we can't play anything new for DA,and now most of the fans are saying to Bioware to made DA3 2013/2014,i don't see how that makes sense. That would be the longest time for Bioware to create a sequel to a game ever, that would be ok if they gave DLC and Expansion during the wait for the sequel, but they don't.Sure if they were creating DA2 content they would need more time, but FFS they just officialy cancelled all DA2 prodcus, and now fans want to wait 2 more years to get DA content WTF?.Between DAO and DA 2 it took 1 year,4 month, and in that time we got sooooo much DLC for DAO.I just don't get the DA fans, how can you think this way,its just stupid,i think late 2012/2013 is just enough time to create a great and not rushed game becouse there is no DA2 DLC that are in development, and 2 years is just the amount of time in witch ME3 was created(it is just enough, the game is very polished)and ME2 had ton of DLC which were released while ME3 was in development,i mean come on fans,3 years is just too much, isn't it?!?!????
The ME example isn't a valid one as a lot of the assests already exist. It's just the case of voice acting, some new animations, and story.. all which is done way before the game is released. DA3 will have a new protoganist, a new setting and new characters.

Indeed, some people think that, while others (like me) also fault a lot of the intentional design choices.
Regardless, it takes time to create something worthwhile, and many people who are interested in quality understand the need to wait.

This. No matter how you look at it, DA2 was rushed. Or maybe you think that things like repeated maps were something the developers expected the players would love?

I do want the DA team to take as much time as needed to create the game they're imagining. That might take 1.5 years, 2 years, or 3 years.
